Ok I fixed my nla problem but not I have a new nla problem 😅 so when my clone switches from one animation track to the other he teleports and deforms and if I just move him to the right spot and key frame him in place it messes up the animation strip before it

Idk I may just cut it and play them separately instead of transitioning into each other

Yep all the head traits have shape keys individually. But in the clone converter plugin, we created a join blendshapes button that merges them all to the head mesh so that you can control them with one set of shape keys because it’s a pain to do them individually

Keep the normal map indentation, but no need to texture the line

Don't worry about it, that's how it is by default : )
I always used a form of context aware fill to erase them.
The texture looks great when eyes are open, its just with blinking or eyes closed it really becomes noticable

For some reason the focus on my pic keeps cutting out my sword

I don’t have it set to any object and even when I mess with the distance or change the focus to the sword it still cuts half out

You have to start using a focus point

Add a empty, use your camera with Track to, link it to the empty

That way your cam keeps connected with the empty

Whereever you move the empty the cam follows

Then changing apperture can make the depth of field look

Woah, I haven't used that part of CT in awhile actually, I've pushed it to be an asset library feature instead for ease of use

Last I recall the packs has to be loaded up and doesnt show up by default since the new update

kinda the same, lemme do a quick screen capture

so with asset library u can mix and match poses and bones, blend poses

its a power user trick

just gotta set the asset library path to the pose pack

half the time i just come back to the pose pack for finger poses / specific bone poses to save some time

@pastel grove entirely depends on "what" you're doing in blender. Most important specs (for most 3D/video) are GPU (rendering/simulations, VRAM if you work with complex scenes with many polygons/large textures) single core CPU clock speed (navigation, processing, etc), Storage (I'd suggest 1 drive for apps/operating system and 1 for files/library/cache to split load), RAM (browsing, simultaneously running multiple apps, etc)

I spent a ton of time researching laptops and have had 2 Lenovo Legions which I've been very happy with and are some of the best performing and bang for buck laptops on the market. All laptops will get hot, no way around that, and if you want thinner ones for added portability, they will be even hotter. Most of the newer chips can handle the head no problem. My travel laptop that I use for work (I'm a professional 3D animator/digital designer) is a Lenovo Legion Slim 7 with an Nvidia 4070 RTX 8GB GPU, 1TB operating system NVME Drive, 4TB project/cache/library NVME drive, and 64GB upgraded memory RAM. It was the best compromise between portability and power I could find, and had the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 w/ 4080 RTX but it added another half inch in thickness + several pounds + size for the power brick so I opted for the Slim 7 instead (don't forget to factor in these GPUs require huge power bricks unless you buy a 3rd party GAN charge like I did, I recommend SlimQ). Check sites like Notebookreview.com or YouTube for unbiased reviews, and you can find some incredible deals on the Lenovo Legions certified refurbished +1-2 year warranty on eBay for 30-50% off retail

Get an Nvidia 40 series GPU
Get a current or previous gen CPU
32GB+ RAM ideal
1TB HDD minimum or more (size or additional drive)
Get the most color accurate display you can (absolute for any professional/brand work)

When you make a video and you add background music and sound effects what comes first? the music or the sound effects?

Fine line of just mixing bro 🙌 there’s no real strict rule when I do it just whatever sounds best like you wanna tailor it so the sound has that feeling of it actually inside the room

But also sometimes you want a specific effect to stand out so you exaggerate the volume

I mostly start with matching sounds on keymoments in thr video i think it needs a sfx. Once i think im done i then go back to see if it needs ‘more’ to feel complete (the last audio i mostly add is in balance lower then the first ones i start, kinda mixing it trough the video to end silenced.

Man I’ll tell ya, sound design is not something I ever really thought too much into until recently. Spend hours in Blender and then wrap a whole day or twos work into a short video and you feel so accomplished, renders look pretty solid, but then there’s the audio side of things. Sound effects, background music, etc.

I’m curious what other creators do for their sound design here. Have any tips or tricks you could share or just overall advice?

As of late I’ve just been using Davinci and I go on YouTube to try and find unlicensed music and/or sound effects and use a converter to get an mp3. Chop up what I need and puzzle piece it all together.

Not sure about material libraries, but Substance Painter can really be a game changer when it comes to realistic/quality materials. They have a library of materials in there you can drag and drop right onto your files basically and not terribly difficult to make tweaks and such either.

Something I picked up and have been doing lately is setting up a Lattice for the hair with soft body physics. Some good videos on YouTube for it. Ultimately rigging the hair I think will be much better quality and provide more control, but will just take longer to setup I believe (I.e- bones, separating geometry and weight painting)

You’ll need to play around with the settings but it worked out pretty well for me. Remember once you have you settings correct and how you want, you can bake the soft body animation for whatever frame duration you want under the “cache” section. That’ll help with viewing it in the viewport as you scrub through your timeline.

to answer your question, the eyes should have a “bone” and when in pose mode you should be able to move them individually

When I have the eyes selected it doesn’t give me the option for pose mode

select the grey pointy things that are the bones

Select you armature and then ctrl+tab to enter pose mode, I beleive within the head there will be 2-3 bones on top of each other where the eye bones are. You’ll want to make sure you have the “eye” bone selected (there’s one for each eye, can also look for it in your collections if you have trouble finding it) . Once you do, then you can rotate it how you want. I’d recommend once having the bone selected click R to rotate and then use x, y or z to choose wich axis you want to rotate on.

If you want to make an easier setup once having that figured out, you can look into to “track to constraint” where you can lock the eyes onto an object such as a box and use it as a controller

Oh you know what, don’t think you can see the bones in the outliner actually. So select your armature and enter pose or edit mode and search for it under the bones tab I beleive it should be in there. Sorry, not at my desk atm 😅

That's very odd. Have you tried creating a new folder that you can put your zipped clone files in, then try and reimport from there? Something also makes me think this is an issue related to the asset library. Do any errors fire when you do load your clone in?

I'm not sure what the last photo is. But let's backup. So if yiu open a new blender project and import your folder with your clone files using CT, Blender imports it, but you are missing a few assets?

I still think you should try moving your zipped clone folders into a new folder in a diff location then the one you use now, then try and import the new folder (don't bring over the unzipped folders, and other files)

I believe that’ll be part of the normal map for the geo suit. If you want to just remove the small dimples themselves, I’d imagine you’d have to edit the normal map image itself and then reconnect it.

Also, I think the easiest way to get rid of them would be to either turn down the strength of the normal map node in shading tab, or just remove it entirely. However, it would come at the cost of losing some other finer details that are within that normal map image. (scratches and minor texture height details)

For sure, I was just wondering if you may know why Brongis is having so much trouble loading in just a clone with Clone.tools

To me it looked like an asset library issue from working with multiple diff clones, but wasn't sure if you had insight on how to fix if it is. Brongis can essentially import the clone but it's missing objects (ie - pants, shirt, etc)

Today is working more or less, now I have a new error 😂 I was using cas clone and everything was fine (more or less) but when I checked the shapekeys were not there 😭 there is a way to fix this? I will attach the errors I got

This was the error I was talking about! I downloaded again all the files from RTFKT website and tried to opens it with clone tool look what I got 😂 even worse! And this was the error with the space/memory that I got once

the error msg seems accurate, armature itself shouldnt have shapekeys

might need to clear up some space on your device

for shapekeys on mesh, check the source file if it ever had shape keys
