Would wish, or i dont know if it exists for the computer to autocalculate fuel when a flightplan is entered
Having ro manually calculate fuel for the flight is fair enough in the 172 so its not critical
but got two hour fuel for an hours flight remaninig so im all good in the hood
the fuel in career is completely broken. even if you calculate it, it won't actually be added to the plane. the only solution is to bind the "add fuel" button. otherwise you will simply hit fuel exhaustion on longer missions
the maintenance is extremely confusing and not at all explained. there's some kind of "delegated maintenance" that appears to just be a money black hole. but you can also click on individual components and they'll be fixed
Im still good in the hood really
i can't profitably run a freelance op, though. i chose the X Cub and it's impossible to land because every mission has 70,000 mph winds. it's like tryind to land inside a tumble dryer
the DHC-2 missions are all impossible
that thing guzzles fuel
every approach is so unstable i just bounce around and crash. getting really frustrated
i'm 80% insured but somehow it only paid out like 6k for my 33k repair
If youre flying a light aircraft flying in bad windy weather will do that for you
i mean the missions are what they are, i don't have any choice. and all of them say "calm" but it's like flying in a hurricane
man it feels good to fly something with a bit more power. The caravan is oh so nice over the puny little cessna skyhawk
btw for those of you hwo know, what is an "inertial seperator"?
You might be correct there
This crosswind is going to make me miss my target
Honestly im not even sure flying in a 60 knot crosswind at 13k is even viable
Had to abort that mission worth 40k. The conditions was beyond waht the caravan and its autopilot could handle
it's a device in the intake of the engine to separate things with low inertia (i.e. air) from things with high inertia (i.e. rocks) so you don't wreck your engine when you're close to the ground (at least that's my understanding of it)
slingloading!
Man that's cool
In this detailed showcase, explore the advanced Minimum Equipment List (MEL) and Techlog features of the FlightSimLabs A321 for Microsoft Flight Simulator. From resolving faults before departure to managing complex in-flight challenges, this video highlights the depth of realism packed into the A321.

been working in the career mode this was my cpl
Just wait until you get to the Jet age. Things be moving fast then
tried to be like the cool swiss S&R pilots but apparently MFS was unhappy at my attempts
doing the high performance cert
instructor: "with more than 200 hp, this has to be the most powerful single-engine piston-powered plane you've ever flown!"
me: remembering the 2600 hp P-47....
Finally!
Is it possible to turn off the voice of the instructor?
Good question, and i have no idea
Took a while, but i got there. I have no interest in big plane stuff until much later!
Nicely done
Later in the flight
Am I correct in assuming that all later qualifications after the PPL also costs currency?
yep
How do you make more currency with just the PPL?
Just the passenger transport jet airliner is 100,000cr
Well, you advance through career. Fly PPL for a bit, then get the CPL, then multi engine, turboengine, navigation and so on
what else did you think was going to happen?
So first time really flying in msfs 2024 and getting a nice and steady 40-45 FPS in the fenix A319. Even on the ground it really only sagged down to 35 if I yanked the camera around
2024 got some serious potential
this is how helicopters are supposed to be stored isn't it?
Looks good to me
i gave up on career mode for now, tired of being penalized for bugs. but free flight seems fine. can't wait for more of the 3rd party planes to be updated for 2024
Yeah, looking forward to the H145 again. Question is if it will be compatible with career mode
the career mode plane roster is abysmal, i expected most of the 1st party planes to be included, but there's so many missing
Yeah, alot of aircarfts are omitted from career for some reason!
I'm waiting for blacksquare and PMDG to port over still.
im waiting on the md-11 727 and a380
iirc Aero Dynamics (guys working on a study level free ware KC-10/DC-10/MD-11) are gonna make it now for msfs 2024.
Also wouldn't surprise me if fly by wire ports their stuff over as well (A380).
From what some of the Msfs devs have said the 2024 SDK had some pretty nasty bugs
i fly the TDFI md-11
rumor is the 9th comes a patch, tomorrow. Hopefully that'll fix most of the common bugs!
Will be interesting to see
Forgot to check yesterday did we get a patch yesterday and if so free planes did they give us
We didnt! No updates showing here. Last update was the 22 of november
isn't today update day?
iirc they're fixing the wind/turbulence in career mode, too-bright runway lights, and some crashes
More interested in what free planes we are getting
oh i think they mentioned being able to locally install content now if you want to, so you don't have to keep re-streaming it
Major update today! Update
Cessna 208 B Grand Caravan Ex Removed disrespectful markings from the medic cabin Removed logos that were not approved from the medic cabin
oh no, did they use the red cross logo without permission?
dang, that's a huge patch
Fast pass and whisper pass with Echo19 SuperHornet sounds
Getting my analog gauge fix for MSFS with black squares TBM850
I wouldnt mind the old TBM850 without all the screens
For black square you can go with either the old nav suite setup (ktx something like) or mix it with GNS530 or GTN750
You can change aircraft internals?
With some devs they give you an option either on the fly or in liveries for different avionics. I was playing in msfs2020 and blacksquare gives you switches in the plane to change your comm/nav stack
Huh, thats cool
Yeah it's nice depending on how you want to fly
beyondatc has rolled out traffic to all users 🙏
im too inept for vatsim so this is the good middle zone
I've been using it in Alpha before I kinda quit MSFS for a while. It was already pretty great and according to the release notes after that fixed most if not all the issues I found.
How is it now?
from my experience its seems pretty good
need to try the new update just downloaded it
might do a flight tonight or tmmr
ok did a flight (not a good one) its really cool with traffic tho
couldnt get autopilot to work just kept disconnecting
so i rage quit
Damn, that's annoying. But yeah can imagine.
Nice the traffic was nice. They actually space stuff now?
Is beyondatc free to use or do you have to buy it I know it has premium voices that you can buy but is it otherwise free ?
idk i got it stuck by being infront of someone i shouldnt have
sat waiting on hold point for 20mins till i just went and the traffic drove thru me lol
i think you need to pay for the base application but can use free voices once you have it
It's a 30 euro's 1 time unlimited access.
You get some free premium characters, but even though I have the upgraded to the supporter package (an extra 30) I rarely use the premium voices.
If you fly offline most of the time I'd say it's great.
Traffic was just released for everyone.
You can actually even use "Push to talk" so actually talk to ATC.(can also click if it keeps misunderstanding). But it's great to practice your stuff before you go on Vatsim and stuff as well
The free voices are adequate imo.
agreed
Hahah damn xD
They knew. They just made you wait for 30 minutes as punishment 😂

Got a link for where I can buy and download it by any chance
I wouldn't worry too much about going on vatsim! - you'll be better than the average pilot!
Oh no, I don't worry about it. I fly on it quite often (and never have gotten a complaint flying A330's into Munich and Heathrow during events).
But once in a while I do enjoy doing a little flight with just an AI talking back just to get up to speed again 🙂
Just saying it can be a great practice tool to just get comfortable with the phrasing and listening.
ohh it is - but I do think vatsim is seen as a "you have to be amazing before you think about trying" which it really isn't
True.
And honestly, even the people that aren't great are helped just as much by the controllers.
I've rarely seen controllers lash out to fumbling peeps.. (even when I was about to).
(except in NA flights. Been a little more snarky there sometime)
I'm just waiting for it to support VFR properly so I can use it for my helo stuff when there's no atc on vatsim
I requested an alternate departure once and I got like 2 controllers come down on me.
The first one berated me for a good 30 seconds about how he chose the departure that fit.
The second one came in to make sure I understood... was crazy
exactly, while I have heard some sass on frequency it's generally not a problem if you're new
they also have the "first wings" events designed for such pilots
that's insane - they're well within their rights to deny the request but they definitely shouldn't berate you for it
In Munich with about 30 incoming and 50 outgoing I asked for runway left instead of right due to it being closer to the cargo gates. left being the departure runway.
They understood, obliged and just made it work.
Of course anecdotal, but the contrast can be so big
Agreed ahhaha
I guarantee they only approved that because it made their lives significantly easier
Exactly, in general the amount of patience is insane.
My tip for new people if they read this. Edinburgh is great.
Anywhere in Scandinavia is also great. They'll help you out and have the patience of a saint.
Most likely, but I liked how it was going.
Honestly, when I landed there were 8 aircraft holding short of the runway
i want to get into vatsim once i learn my aircraft more. flying out of edinburgh since its my closest airport
edinburgh is amazing as a training airport - often has ATC - but isn't overwhelming like gatwick or heathrow are
NIce nice 🙂
I still want to do dual seater in an aircraft. Should try that some time ;p
Not sure how it works with vatsim
manchester's also good
Ah yeah indeed
I'll happily PM for a flight - given my setup only works for rotary PF would be tricky except in the cruise!
cant fly boeing well enough to do any cross ocean flights yet
Hahah gotcha
the North Sea ain't no ocean
I also just fly Airbus. Did boeing, but then started flying the a330 and it's great
But might take you up on that 😄
it's fine, just fly BAW1 or BAW2 - 318 across the atlantic
feel free, I don't do much tubeliner stuff so it'll make a bit of a change for me
for my reference you guys know any good beginner guides to vatsim
dont want to just go onto it and mess it up 😂
Gotcha, I normally fly DHL (Postman) with an a330-900 (cause there wasn't an -300)
So all the fancy tools airbus offers
Vatims own setup guide is pretty good.
And if you can follow along, predict and follow the BeyondATC flight you'll be fine I'm sure
I would probably recommend the video series by aviation pro - it's old but still holds up
will check both these out thank you both ❤️
and yeah, vatsim itself has lots of good materials
and otherwise, observe, watch twitch streams etc. - get used to the variations outside the book too
i think my end goal would be become a ATC on it but yeah thats a lot of learning so will take some time
We could do a nice flight. I'll PIC, Syntax PM(and comms) and you on the jumpseat. (Drinking allowed for all)
Thanks I’ll check it out when I get home later today
I’ve heard through friends of mine that fly on vatsim a lot that Europe controllers are better and less hateful than the US ones

i got one wrong cause im stupid lol
i think i need to do more learning now and then i can fly
like another exam
Ah nice, don't sweat it.
The exam was harder than my first flight xD
Don’t feel bad I had to take it twice fail my first time
@river sorrel @vagrant dune
A nice flight tonight on Vatsim would be Frankfurt (EDDF) - Riga (EVRA) or vice versa. About 2 hour block time.
Both should be fully controlled with events going on.
Ah sorry, didn't mean to ping syntax as he can only fly heli's andthat might be a little far
But it is a nice flight.
Generally I think it's worth doing long flights at the start. 2 hours. Get yourself a lot of time to review the approach etc.
im cleaning up my room rn dont know when i will be done its a state
i should be free in the weekend tho if you are
Hahaha, all good 🙂
Just saw the events and thought I'd drop it
Hmm I'm thinking, I don't even have msfs 24 XD
MIght get that, but kinda held back by the fact 2020 is pretty good still
I just got off flying Vagar (EKVG) - Keflavik (BIKF) in a helicopter - 3 hour block time - if your controls works across sims I could join as PM maybe - might do other non-flight sim things though
Yeah. might do some flying this weekend. Can get Ewan into vatsim. Probably DCS tonight
I'll join over the weekend then!
yourcontrols doesn't seem to work with 2024, I'll just re-install 2020!
That's dedication
I have to reinstall yourcontrols anyway
I kinda want them both installed anyway and now feels like the perfect time
do you fly the FBW or the fenix?
at least 320 wise
and then the headwind 330?
Headwinds a330.
So FBW API underneith
will i need any specific plane installed?
or just gonna stream it on discord so i can watch
either way im down for it
When I said jump seat I indeed meant streaming. Not sure how yourcontrols works for more than 2.
But it's up to you 🙂 I'm happy for any suggestions or just flip it so I'll chill and you fly 😄
im good with you streaming it for me
sunday work for you guys? i can do saturday or sunday night no fuss either way
also are you running the default navigation data or have navigraph?
I have navigraph
wonderful
At least, I still think I do
I'll install the latest airac into 2020 then
Cool cool 🙂
I'm probably flying whatever we're doing in Simbrief and import it right away.
IF you are not too set on clicking all the buttons xD
filing*
it certainly sounds like a plan - still need to have the same navdata though!
True, I'll check it as well, but I am logged in with navigraph everywhere I believe
All good for me
I might even try some flight tonight. (if either wants to see if we can get "yourcontrolls" working 🙂 )
@vagrant dune Up to try it out? 🙂
(If msfs is installed at all even hahaha)
it's not done yet - 78%
Quicker than I expected actually haha
it's like a 140 gig download
it's a fine size for what it is - still big though
right I'm up now if you want to give it a shot
IN the MSFS channel. Need 5 minutes to test something in a script 🙂 But I am
I'm continuing the helicopter trans-atlantic
might be able to do another flight today though, we'll see
Yeah saw that. Nice!
(saw syntax is still on the same flight haha)
I have done a fuel stop
but I'm thinking we fly into the scottish vatsim event tonight
i have just woken up ngl
about to do some dcs with my brother but will hop on if i can stay awake later tonight if you are on @fading laurel @vagrant dune
I was thinking that too!
I've got about an hour to run on this flight, then I'll grab some food and we can set off
or out of the event for that matter
a flight out of inverness (EGPE) would be interesting
it might be able to accommodate a 330
Sounds good
I'm 99% sure it won't be XD
Edinburgh can do as well. Will be nice and busy.
We have to fly outbound. Inbound is slotted only I bleieve
Budapest also is live.
So we can fly to there. That's just fully covered
I'm somewhat certain I'll be able to swap to the FBW a320 without issue. So if we want inverness we can definitely fly out of there.
KLM has a320s now for some dutch pride 😄
We'll just plan in a little bit 🙂
it's like 500m short if we're at max weight
otherwise we can fly a 320 yeah
I know they fly out of inverness irl
and in terms of how you fly them they're basically identical
Yeah, I mean it's definitely going to make it, cause pushing it into TOGA will get you out of everywhere almost.
It's just, the taxi might be a little weird
we'll just confuse the controller!
but the reason for inverness is that the procedures make the comms more interesting
True, doing special deliveries.
"Monster of Log ness can't fit an 320 sir"
Gotcha, then let's do it. If the procedures don't expect me to do something weird
we'll just say we're transporting a nessie pup
(I'll set up the correct stuff this time
nah, flying wise they're pretty normal
Gotcha 🙂
Let's do it. We'll check destination when we're both in chat 🙂
there aren't any sids so we'll just get a vector on departure and then own nav to our first point
Gotcha, that's interesting indeed.
But doable 🙂
Def nice to share the workload then
the reason the comms are more interesting is that it's in uncontrolled airspace :)
Is it? Huh?
Well, I'll find out
In the meantime, I can quickly "Type Rate" the airfield xD
I also haven't flown an airliner out of there, but I have flown helis IFR and it's not that different
I'm updating the A320, just to be sure.
Can do a KLM flight inverness to EHAM. THe night transitions are quite nice at Amsterdam. It's controlled atm. Nice and busy in Europe atm
Cool col

that can be cool

We look at the upcoming new features we have planned for BeyondATC the new year in this final video to close out 2024. We'll be adding an exciting new feature: a custom LLM made just for BATC to our program that will extend its functionality by miles. This update will be coming to the ...
Any one of you knowledgable in the H145 SAS Autopilot system?
@fading laurel@vagrant dune sorry for early ping but does 5pm UK time work for you both? if cant today thats fine im also free through the week
I can!
Light on the vatsim events, but sunday is generally good for coverage, so should be good!
I can do earlier as well. Just letting you know. Have all day basically
i think 5pm is good time for me hopefully i can stay awake for the full flight watch 😄
im interested in learning the comms btw if have any resources
Well, if syntax can't make it you're promoted
i watched a video of someone doing a flight and the clearance part really confused me
didnt understand most of it
Gotcha, I can talk you trough it. From a user perspective and how I make it easy 😄
i downloaded your controls or whatever its called what aircraft will you be using?
not that i will be much use i dont understand many aircraft yet 😂
FBW A320 most likely. Maybe the A330 by headwind. Both are great.
If you have a preference we'll fly that
Did you also install vPilot?
i got the a320 but tbh im fine with just watching a stream if you want to just go thru your process
I mainly fly the A330, but yesterday's a320 flight was very nice
let me check i downloaded a pilot client vPilot seems familiar
Let's co-pilot. It's fine 🙂
yep got vPilot
awesome will make sure a320 is updated
i have flown it a grand total of 3 times so not too familiar with it but i can try
just double checking its stable version 0.12.3?
for the a320nx
It's fine. I can handle the MCDU and stuff.
Might desync somewhere anyway, so not worth counting on it being totally bullet proof haha
what route you wanting to fly?
Not sure, We'll see about it at that time 🙂 Yesterday we also planned pretty last minute
understood 🫡
We'll do all the pre-planning together as well. And pre-filing etc 🙂
awesome
If Syntax does make it we'll see how we sort the seating 😄
thanks alot for this cause im absolutely terrified to get started in vatsim 😂
im sure that feeling will fade eventually
It will 🙂
I'll almost certainly have to leave 1730-1800 sometime so the front seats are all for you two
might fly some offshore heli ops soon though
I'm doing some RNP approaches, in case the next time I can't see the runway at the final fix XD
I'll be in msfs for a bit
bit of a dreich flight to the rigs today
@fading laurel gonna need to push back the flight to thru the week if you are avaliable then.
brother needs help assembling his desk 🙄 ikea is apparently his weak point
i will do some learning before hand so i can handle or atleast try to handle the comms on our flight
Damn, all good! 🙂 Good luck
We'll see how much time I have during the week
Ikea desks should be setupable in 15 minutes, so if you do make it let me know ;p
if weekend is better its no rush just gives me more time to learn the comm structure
(Tell your brother it's a one man job anyway)
yeah will try speed thru it idk how he isnt figuring it out
he does this every time he gets new furniture he messes it up so calls me to his house
ok i will shoot off will @ you if im back at reasonable time
Yeah, I'm online all evening/night probably
But no rush
@odd heart You up for some flighttime? I saw an option for shared cockpit in the H145
I imagine it was me you're looking for, and yes, let's see if we can work it out
rgr
didnt take that long. Im good to go!
picked up my ifr and night time rating in msfs today
tesla's amazing pilot skills

@river sorrel @vagrant dune
3 interesting events tonight on Vatsim if anyone is up for some flying🙂
Oslo, Budapest and Dusseldorf. So some nice routes.
German Approaches can be quite interesting with live controllers as you get shortcuts quite often.
(This is one example from DUS itself
it's like dubai!
(and this is actually the same as the vectoring structure the UK controllers use post-star - it's just that when you're being vectored they often "give shortcuts" too it just doesn't feel like it")
True true, still haha
the H160 is pretty cool!
what time is the event?
Explore VATSIM Network in real-time, track pilots, check for controllers, view events - and more!
will see if im awake for this 😂
taking a sleep med to try reset my schedule cause rn im getting tired around 18-19 ish
Basically all evening
Gotcha, let me know what you think and curious what @vagrant dune feels like tonight 😉
I'm up for a flight again
But no pressure/rush 🙂
@vagrant dune Got my hands on the 160 aswell. Im curious if the shared cockpit option is better in this one since its slightly newer
possibly, but there's no yourcontrols profile for it specifically so we'd have to use the 145 one
Thats very fair. Hopefully it'll get support. It is likely as the 160 got fewer buttons and the same layout as the 145 except for another screen
hopefully - the two pilot offshore ops are calling
@vagrant dune Could you instruct me in how to actually land the 145 and 160 with this SAS enabled? I find myself fumbling it up at close approach and landing
Absolutely fantastic this is!
is this 2020 or 2024?
24
ah damn i want to fly helicopter 😄
might need to buy 24
or more sensible would be learn the helicopters i got on dcs more
its never too late!
the only issue I've had is that the tablet settings haven't saved for me
so going through them is now part of my startup checks
same! Its needed
but as far as the approach/landing goes I've not had any issues at 40-50 kt and then pulling it into the hover
I always notice that whenver i take manual control i need to double check that the SAS is within acceptable limits i.e. not too far from the center.
or else i'll be having issues gaining stability
ahh probably - I haven't flown it too much with these settings and upper modes but when I have it has been a bit slower to come back to me once I take them out
you should really try to mod it like i have in the video above. It is awesome how good it was
I've got random and everywhere but not anything else on top of it - what else did you have?
I shall have a look
Every addon is listed here

Anyone if you tried Sayintentions.ai?
i was going to but the monthly cost stopped me
from all the reviews i watched though its meant to be really good
continuing my world tour with the turbo arrow iv (just flight, good module), sunrise on the south coast of kamchatka. MSFS 2020 still looks pretty enough for me

I would clock in so many professional hours in MFS for a chance of sitting in this simulator

H145 & Custom Electronics:
https://electronic-system-cockpit.fr/categorie-produit/airbu...
at london heliport on a sunday evening wondering if I'll ever get airborne rn
Heathrow has 34 departures still. So probably not
the departures aren't the problem, it's the arrivals
I managed to get in just about
with a hold outside CAS
and then shit hit the fan on freq
it doesn't help that half the pilots aren't listening
Not a lot of arrivals it seems, but some of them seem to be messing up a few things xD
Bu I see you're corssing the Thames
On to Biggin Hill 😄
yeah, I'll by flying down the thames, past city and then south to biggin hill
I just need my clearance
Seems some are even being given holds
Pretty crazy still, cause honestly, it's not that busy according to radar
made it back and I'm now tired
@vagrant dune
Feeling another airliner flight later tonight?
Maybe, I'm going out for food with some friends so I'll lyk when I get back
Ah nice, enjoy the food and company! 😄
Simupdate 1 fixes the ground effect bug
Sweet!
i wonder if taking off and landing again at the same airport 50 times counts or not
hi tesla sorry to ping but is this the HPG H145?
looking to try this kinda thing it looks amazing
It is indeed
The base version is just the H145, but for missions you'd need the action pack aswell, and ontop of that actionpack free addons which increases the immersiveness quite a bit, like voicelines.
well just passed my multi engine certification rating
next up turboprop engine rating
then maybe my jet engine rating or my ATPL
i got it, but BATC is having difficulties understanding what im saying so i get errors mostly
The LLM should help with that
yeah i dont know what the issue is
can someone help me learn. im new to MSFS
Game has a lot of ingame help already in the form of tutorials and what not
i uhh.. i just logged on and i got S rated, 1 billion credits and i suddenly have 11 aircraft in my hangar, even though my company revenue is.. 0,-

Well ok i guess. I'll take the 1 billion credits, for sure!
@fading laurel , you got an answer for this?
How would I know? 😂
i dont know, ive been offline for a while
I don't even own msf24 yet😂
well.. ofcourse you cant help then lmao
I mean,. what's to help? Free money it sounds like
yes indeed. Im not one to complain
First slingload in a little over a week and i completely missed the mark several times..
10\10 landing, full applause in the back. You just didnt hear it!@ember ferry
msfs2024 must be mostly fixed by now? cant decide between shelling out for it or arma reforger
Damn.. that is one humongous update!
Yes sir! Do you get the beta updates normally or do you have to opt in
I opted in on steam
Attempting to learn this badboy for career mode. Its quite fun to fly!
Can you actually do firefighting missions?
Yeah! With the air tractor and the viking! I dont know with the aircrane yet, although it got the firefighting addon to it
Its a careful dance between torque and speed!

How do fly online in fs2020
This was great to fly!
anyone know if the FlyBywire a320nx works in msfs2024
it does! Atleast it spawns in and i can boot up the batteries. I havent flown it yet though
thanks @crude vault ❤️
i'll give it a testfly momenterily and get back to you!
i couldnt get engines to spool up but its my first time in that plane for months so probably missed a step 😄
yeah i havent started it either but i'll give it a go
give me a help down in vc?
cant vc atm as about to leave for my grandparents lunch 😦
i should be back around 1:30 uk
fair
well depends how quick the help is i leave in 20mins 😄
@crude vault forgot to say the A320NX dev build works flawlessly in 24
got this last night
might hop in vc after i finish todays work
hi
@river sorrel As i dont particularily like to fly airliners, i do like to fly the cessna caravan. such a fun aircraft to fly. turboprops are much more fun than smaller piston aircrafts.
Also, 10\10 perfect landing
my brother loves this aircraft
im crying rn cause msfs crashed mid way thru my 2hr flight
oh well will try again tmmr 😂
Nice! And yeah that sounds like MFS24.
The viking CL-415 is by far the most fun fixed wing aircraft ive flown so far!
Have you tried headwind a330?
I dont fly airliners, so nope!
very stable
had like a 9 hour flight in it yesterday
The MV310R looks cool.
FSS just released the passenger version of the 727-200 for MSFS
If anyone is up for some flying give me a call. I havent tried formation flying yet in MFS24, much less with a large aircraft!
I’ll be flying the 727-200 on 2020 this weekend or maybe the md-88 on 2024
This is harder than it seems
what are you flying there
A400
@crude vault if you want to do a flight in 2024 tomorrow or something i can breakout the mad dog md-88
Sure thing, i dont do airliners but i can give it a go!
Well you said something big so I guess we could do the c-17 in 2024
I dont got the C-17, but i got the A400 so we can try that for sure!
Quite the landing challenge for sure, but super fun!
i may have made a silly purchase 😁
i am loving flying the airbus a320nx and a339 from fbw and headwind
so it makes sense to me to buy this
next up is a MCDU
i dont think its natively compatable but i saw some community workarounds to make it work
Very nice indeed. I dont have that but i do got a farming simulator control panel which im using for an autopilot controller
@river sorrel
A challenge for you! TNCM - TNCS.
Ive only managed to land there with the caravan once and i reversed the prop before i touched down that time
going to try again, but i'll keep the speed below 60 knots this time
do i attempt this in a a320 next time im able to fly 😂
oh yeah you wont land it with a a320. you need a much smaller aircraft. i could barely do it with the caravan
need to get a pic of the setup next time i fly
fenix a320 and this panel is really nice
only did a short flight edinburgh to prestwick
so havent been in career mode in a while go into today and almost every single thing is unlocked including stuff i hadnt even touched yet like helos
and i have like a billon credits
Yeah thats a beta feature. None of what you do in beta will transfer over to live version
learned how to do a full auto landing
this time was a short hop from edinburgh to prestwick about 30mins
ignore the metalica playing i need music to fly with 😂
so out of the beta now and i still have everything unlocked almost and have a billion credits

mans looking like hes done this for 60 years, yet theres 40 more years till retirement!
looking for opinions
what is everyones favourite / must have addons for 2024
Right now i have Beyondatc , fenix a320 , GSX and my home airport
and navigraph subscription ofcourse
Only addon i have is Cowansim H125. Very neat helicopter when flown correctly
Of that list I only have the Fenix A320 and can confirm its accuracy. Navigraph is must. Any money left over is spent on peripherals and DCS. 😅
Well they are 2020 addon but most work in 2024 but I really enjoy the TFDi md-11 the fss b727-200 and the maddog md-82/83/88
There’s also the free A-380
ive tried that once. The aircraft is too big for my taste
the CL-415 is great though!
trying out the 225. The lower modes does assist, but i think i need an introduction in how the 225 differ from the 145 in terms of assists and autopilots!
I don’t mind I like the big aircraft md-11 747 A-380
once we get upper modes in the 225 I'll be flying it quite a lot!
Same! But until that time..
HPG got the coding done. Quite literally copypaste from the H160 and presto, done!
all prepped for tomorrows flight
running a accurate livery kinda and using a real route
Nice setup you got there
thank you 🙂
what hotas you use ?
warthog hotas and throttle
waiting for winwing to release their airbus throttle setup
i am trying to bind the detent for reverse but don't know how ?
you know wherer you lift the throttle
ah ok i dont have my reverse on the throttle axis
i use a key to enable reverse thrust
then i just move the throttle forward to do reverse thrust
then i click it again and bring back the throttle for idle again
which key ?
its called "toggle reverse thrust" its set to the Engine OPER right on the warthog hotas
just press it forward and it activates
I think I used to the pinky button on the throttle to toggle it
On vatsim? 😉
Hahah all good 😄
You'll probably be fine
Stepped it up to the a320 though!
Nice!
If it were the FBW one I'd have said we could do a my-controls flight 😄
does that work on 24?
No clue hahah, good point, I don't even own* 24
@fading laurel sorry to ping but have a vatsim question
On my thing it says im P0 so no pilot rating according to the vatsim website
i assume i need to go thru some training before i can fly on the network?
ah found the PPL stuff was looking in wrong place before 😄
Jupp it's a quick one tbh.
Depending how much you nerded out about aviation before
Reading it is nice though
im gonna start working through it tmmr will take notes aswell
its the radio stuff that scares me currently
seems very busy
The H145 is still as fun now as when i first flew it way back when
Sometimes, when im alone, i log on and just listen to the chaos, and remember that im snug at home not flying on vatsim eating snacks
Firebird you are not clear to buzz the runway
Thats the fun part of not flying in vatsim, you can do whatever you want!
I know was kind of making a joke based off of top gun but using the movie firebirds with Nicolas cage
If you enjoy GA, I really like the Just Flight Piper series. I only have the Turbo Arrow ones, but the Warrior is supposed to be top notch as well
Nice!
What approach did you get?
Yeah i wish i was a tad bit better planning my flights
my plan went out the window 😂
was meant to be landing 27
atc said half way there that im going to 18c
its fine though as was same routing
yeah, pre-planning is my issue in MFS24, really
But i fly helicopters mostly so pre-planning is an afterthought
Nice!
Does BATC let you fly the night transition or picks you up with vectors at some point?
I knew initially it would always have you fly over SPL even though arrivals are picked up and vectored way before that
The night transitions are already pretty well seperated.
The day time arrival charts always show you flying over SPL at 7000.
Which obviously causes issues, but it's more a lost com iirc
I was cleared direct SUGOL cross at or below FL100
had a missed ILS approach so was directed somewhere would need to charge my ipad and check the notes
then rerouted back to SUGOL and finally landed 18C
wasnt given vectors
just cleared on my standard approach
was either NIREX or NETOM from what i remember was just off the coast
wont lie i was very tired on this flight 😂
Hahaha yeah gotcha 🙂
You got it down, so very nice
How does BATC handle traffic nowadays?
LAst time (a while back) it kinda struggled, especially with spacing on arrivals
i dont have density set too high on traffic but on taxi out i was 2nd in queue which was cool
on approach there was no wait for arrival but that could just be lucky timing
im going to turn up density so i can get more lively skies
Nice nice 🙂
definitely dont just want a excuse to use the hold feature of the a320 that i just learned 😂
Fly Vatsim on an event, you'll have more than enough practice with it!
I departed from Greece once.
It was insane. I think there were 25 planes in holds.
thats mad
Yeah nice!
If you're comfortable talking to BATC technically you can probably manage on vatsim
It's just confidence, which is arguably the hardest part.
But as always, I'd say just try it 🙂
When flight planning you can add a note in your plan. "First time Vatsim" or "very new, sorry"
oh thats cool
Clearances and stuff?
Everybody gets a clearance wrong once in a while
i will try a flight some time thru the week
Yeah, and most controllers are totally fine with it
clearence is what confuses me the most
What you can always do is schedule a departure from a manned airport.
To a weird niche airport.
Then you can safely disconnect after leaving the departure airspace.
do i just say "Heathrow delievry - Speedbird 907 with information (whatever letter) requesting IFR clearance to Schiphol" for example
I think that's for everyone, but if you prepare and write down your expected you only have to change small bits and add a squawk code
i will not be doing heathrow on my first ever flight will probably go edinburgh thru the day its usually quiet
Yeah, or "howdy delivery, looking to pick up clearance to Schiphol, Speedbird 907"
good to know
Yours is way better
But no one is going to burn you for missing a word in that sentence.
When reading back it is very detailed.
yeah i think simpler is probably better to a degree
aslong as they understand the request its fine
But clearances always come in the same structure, so you can basically already write it down based on your expected arrival and active runway according to the ATIS
The "With Information" part is good to mention btw.
Keep that in.
Generally they kinda want it when asking for clearance, and most certainly when you request taxi/startup.
At least, that's where they generally verify it when I don't say it
will send pics of my notes from last nights flight later
i took it too serious for a beyond atc flight 😂
its good practise tho
Haha it's practice, can't fool around in practice expecting to bring your A game to the actual field
When doing Vatsim, a few things really give you goodwill from the controller.
Patience when keying up. (Stepping on someone multiple times is really a good way to make the controller dislike you)
Your callsign in every message. (It's required, but the amount of people that simply don't is crazy. So controller appreciate the effort.)
Flying what you're given. Fixing a minor readback error is easy, figuring our why you're turning north after departing when the departure cleary requires you to turn south is a whole different kind of mental gymnastics
So you'll most likely be fine 🙂
It's been too long since I've flown on the network
thank you for these advices ❤️
i gotta go but will send some pics of my notes from last night when i return
please ignore my handwriting its bad 😂
These are just my experiences, def more tips and tricks out there 🙂
And i was doing so well on my departure.. until i didnt
This looks interesting

Hello everyone, and welcome to our third MH60 Dev Blog! @fading laurel here is the notes 😄
as i said please ignore my scrawly hand writing
lot of abbreviation cause im not a fast writer
Makes sense to me
Did you note these down when they were given to you?
yeah
was harder than i thought to manage notes and following the instructions at same time
90% of the stuff you get is predictable.
It helps when you write it down beforehand 🙂
For descend clearances and alt clearances I cheat a little.
I treat my AP settings as my reminder.
When cleared to decent to FL90 I put it to 9000.
I don't want it to descent lower anyway.
Same for headings etc.
thats a good idea
i was writing it then following the instruction
should do it opposite way
Makes sense as well, but where normally you can divide with 2 people a little you're doing it all on your own.
Some shortcuts do help.
You need to be careful to not set something wrong and assume that's the truth.
But if you're just reading it back and setting it directly you'll hardly miss it
And well, if you've heard it wrong and written it down wrong, you won't correct it when putting it into the AP
And ofcourse for most of the stuff you can shorten it.
27R K B L A AB
Means taxi and hold short 27R via K B L A AB.
Sometimes you even have a hold short instruction in there.
Underlining the letter makes that clear for me.
Removing the dashes, "via" etc can help you be quicker in noting it down 🙂
that is very true
will make note of this
It's a process.
You'll find that you'll most likely leave out a lot of stuff.
And since our brain has evolved to predict the future, you'll most likely be ahead of the curve once flying from the same airport a few times.
With Taxiways and stuff there generally really only is 1 or 2 logical ways to get to a runway.
Even in Amsterdam I've been able to write down the taxiways before even getting the instructions.
Once I was unlucky and they send me all the way around, cause I was right in the middle xD
😂
oh that raises a question is there any application that will show me a map of a airport and my location for when im on vatsim 😄
i get lost on taxi really easy
BATC has a map
Navigraph Link works very nicely.
Not sure if you have a license or if you need a license, but I believe you do
i have a licence so that works thanks ❤️
nice nice 🙂
@fading laurel @crude vault i have done a silly thing 🙈
i bought a thermal reciept printer to use on the fenix a320 for printing weather reports and such 😂
£32 isnt a bad deal tbh its 150 new
Hahahaha nice!
will send the result when it arrives later today
im hoping to jump on vatsim this weekend
been ill all week so we will see
Nice nice!
Let us know how it goes! 😄
ooff, yeah, then some relaxing and flying is always nice
will do ❤️
been playing abit of BMS with my brother its fun but omg im useless at any guided munitions in the f16 😂
tried to use Harms like i do in dcs but nah no hits
must of done something wrong
only the most dedicated will know why such a thing is necessary! Neato!
very cool
took a minute to figure out the drivers for this printer 😂
i want to make the font bigger my eyesight aint the best
That’s so dumb.
I need it
Is it as convoluted and finicky to load paper in as the real one? 😂
simple enough for me to understand so must be easy 😂
just put it in the top and pull the paper onto the cutting bit and close it
got it for £32 and will look nice on my paper logs i write for flights so im happy 😄
just going to tape them onto the paper
i already did one of House from house md 😂
i gave it to my brother
from a distance you can see it clearly 😂
the HPG H145 with the Action pack is probably the best buck for an addon ive ever purchased ever
this is 24 yes
its working just fine for me atleast
Everytime i fly past the Royal Palace in Oslo i physically salute it!
Its the only way to do it!

so tempting
recently got a honeycomb bravo for pretty cheap on facebook marketplace
could be a good upgrade for it
Looks like it’s just add on parts for the bravo
@fading laurel this might interest you just got sayintentions after being recommeded it by a friend
its expensive but my god it feels so alive
its really good
Better than batc?
i would say so but my time in SayIntentions is limited so far
only done 1 flight
i need to try the copilot stuff cause apparently its good too
Ah gotcha!
I see it has some more features
I am not flying with an AI co-pilot though. Jester has done enough damage
it uses both ai voices and recorded multiplayer comms for traffic stuff (with consent ofcourse you can turn off voice recording)
im just so impressed with it 😄
Haha nice nice!
SI is subscription. (Too expensive)
yeah thats the one draw back i have with it so far
I am not able to fly with ATC yet but I hope BeyondATC’s VFR feature can come soon.
BTW guys anyone flying msfs2024 VR? If so do you disable hand tracking or vr control.
I find VR controllers in mafs2024 too annoying.
Answer to myself:
I use Virtual Desktop. Today I found and disabled the Controllers interact with desktop option.
This removes the Quest Controllers from Windows and the games, while the Hand Passthrough is still there.
this is very helpful to know
i just got virtual desktop today
Nice to help! Endless tinkering lol.
@river sorrel Feel free to ask anything about VD here or in the hardware-and-technical-questions channel. It's a wonderful software.
will let you know when i have questions thank you for the offer to help ❤️
Announced at FSExpo: Navigraph Charts App will support taxi routes and 3rd party traffic injection (BeyondATC confirmed)
So was flying in 2024 this weekend working on the career mode and saw a cloud to ground lighting strike first time I’ve seen one of those in the sim
MSFS SU3 (beta) adds this handy option for VR finally
Strangely, this setting will override each other under VR and 2D graphics. (iirc 2D had this setting before this beta)
Flight I made last night from KCHA to kdfw
Beautiful
I can ignore/pass these breakers although they are models in msfs 2024 right?
So... tempting...

MSFS pop outs (for example the GNS 530) can show on a second display
but unfortunately when in VR these pop outs on a flat display are blank 🤦♂️ 🥹
Perhaps I'll switch back to none VR for MSFS after I get all these done
Update wow after updating the SU3 beta this seems to be fixed
Still gotta try that runway, @river sorrel
i do
tbh not played much flight sim recently
or dcs for that matter
Cropdusting in VR is a walk in the park!
This is going to be g to make for some interesting photo mode in MSFS 2024 https://youtu.be/cxMDu5i9jEE?si=FX2Im4Bg-zpLWlQ2

Sweet lord what a crapshow!
anyone here flying the updated fenix a320?
in 2024 that is
getting a pure white main flight display and not sure why
seems to only be the pilots side left display
@crude vault hello 🙂 any chance you have flown the new miltech mh-60?
i am looking at maybe buying it for some UK coastguard operations
believe it comes with a HMCG livery
I havent yet, but i certainly will. Not at home currently
I'll let you know!
yeah im having issues with my install. Getting no textures at all on the helicopter which is frustrating
PSA: AVOID MILVIZ\BLACKBIRD. THEIR PACKAGES ARE CORRUPT. PURCHASE THE MH-60 FROM MILTECH DIRECTLY INSTEAD
So far so very much good!
Yeah id recommend it. Just did a mission, and had fun!
yeah its on the pad. Fair checklist. The keybindings though are a bit lacking
EDIT: This video sucks guys. I had the main window zoomed in too much. I'll get a better video out soon!
Let's check out the new Miltech MH-60!
Let me know if you get it @river sorrel and we'll have a little flight!
Very cool indeed!
Download day: https://x.com/MSFSofficial/status/1958195125089075260
you linked to twitter, which is a site to avoid at all costs
Finally!
If it doesn't break a few things I was testing with SU3 beta, we are not able to use pop ups in VR (Which my C172 pit would rely on that fix)
hopefully itll work out perfectly with your c172 pit
wow - I'm now annoyed that I can't fly rn!

EC135 is not being well recieved, and that is well deserved
Personally was hoping they would do something like a older airline or something for the last one
TDFi md-11 or is that xplane
Tfdi
yea i love it just waiting on them to update it for 2024 so i can fly it again
making do with the fss 727 for now
Yeah, also I'm waiting on Aero Dynamics DC/KC-10 as well
didnt know there was a dc-10 for msfs will have to look for it
yeah freeware too
so just picked this up for msfs 2024 along with the F6F

Released now, lots of videos out there on youtube
MSFS released a nice world update for Japan
Flawless!
So MSFS is not set up for headtracking devices in mind.... i'm doing the helo training and it says I failed a step cause I was looking around with my trackir instead of using their keybinds...
right that could also happen in vr sometimes. very silly.
I dont know what it is but my controls and curves keep resetting and its getting insanely frustrating
got my brother into flying the a320
now he wants to spend money on more flight gera
*gear
Ain’t that the way it always is
for sure
we did a flight with me sitting watching his screen. managed to startup and fly a route but landing was hard
im still learning it all myself so it was rough 😄
I’ve been flying flight sims since the early 90’s luckily non of my brother got interested
So I had a lot of trouble with the helicopter CPL and ended up just skipping to the the final exam.... idk why that felt so much easier
It starts with MSFS then evolves to combat sims next thing he’ll be playing warthunder il2 or dcs
Usually the pipeline starts with WT and ends with a flight sim though doesnt it?
nah for my older brother it was FSX -> DCS -> MSFS2020/2024 😄
now he also war thunders
No I started with MSFS then Jane’s combat sims then Microsoft combat sims and other combat sim including tanks
Well, i expect you to show him helicopters too, yes?
Anyone else looking forward to il2 Korea
So doing a couple of the missions in the MSFS career mode.... the employer cut for the missions are HUGE
@crude vault Once you have your own company established in MSFS, can you then buy helicopters from a bigger selection than is shown in the certifications?
In theory yes!
Sweet
Greeeeeeeat I just flew 70nm for a mission and I cant contact arrival to get landing clearance....
I wasted so much time on this flight and now I cant complete it....
Huh this happened to me recently as well. But I’ on SU beta have thought that would be the cause.
not my smoothest landing but it was a visual landing on runway 22 so it was unexpected that is my excuse 😄
idk why my aircraft icao is appearing as a cessna
it was a airbus i was flying 😂

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
this is the vibe i have when flying the fenix a320 😂
i forgot how much fun it was after a 2 month break
the most stressing landing ive done in a while
first flight in the bonanza from blacksqaure in 2024, the reflections in it are awesome. Also cool to notice that you can cause all the lights to pulse in the cockpit if you have the throttle at idle and the alternator doesn't put out enough volts
Flawless landing at Laklu By Mount Everest
I think you might have been a bit shallow in the end, but you make up for it with style points
Took the black square baron and bonanza out for a flight last night also quite good

When your landing is 10\10
Anyone tried out the Stranger Things campaign in MFS24 yet? I did the training and i laughed as the game tried to teach me how to fly helicopters.
