You’ll want to wait until your cleared for the approach, or on your intercept for final. Also don’t forget the LS buttons (next to FD) if your doing an ILS

I didn’t want to do all that. I read that it was an issue with MSFS’s servers.

So. I’m sure uninstalling it and reinstalling it would’ve fixed it, but it was bound to happen again.

So, stopped screwing around with MSFS. Plus, I’m enjoying X-Plane thus far. Definitely feels less game like than MSFS. Sure, it’s a smaller library, but I wouldn’t fly everything MSFS has to offer anyway.

I believe the Br. 1050 Alize’s on speed requires a green and amber light to be on simultaneously. I did not accomplish that. But, I have less than 10 hours in the plane, so I’m not bothered by that shortfall.

I recently got into airliners again after a long time. Back on vatsim and flying routes in the a330. Great fun.
No real tips for GA myself.
The UK just got a big update. The bush "activities" seem to be quite popular. They give you long routes with intermediate stops at airfields where you can save. You get some waypoints with sight seeing tips and stuff as well.
First time I flew one I quit after half an hour cause it felt like I was getting nowhere😂😂

What are these activities youre speaking of?
I'd live me some MSFS if flights serve a pirpise other than choosing my own A to B routes.
(And aside from joining a VA, but that's also a possibility)

"Activities" are pre set routes or landings in certain aircraft.
The bush tour style ones put you in a bush aircraft and have you fly from airstrip to strip. Sorta like the missions in fsx.
Maybe it sounds more fancy than it actually is, but it is preset routes with sight seeing.
Not a lot of airliner stuff, but vatsim is where airliner stuff excells.
And honestly, using Simbrief I never setup anytbing in msfs itself.
Import the flightplan into the aircraft through simbrief (including waypoints).
(Exclusing SID and STAR, but the expected are in the flight plan).
And well, if you do fly vatsim, don't worry about "realistic" routes too much. Just pick 2 airports you like and the aircraft you like.
I've flown from Schiphol to Frankfurt in an A330. No one minds

I like the approach from the east at EGPH. Over the water with land on both sides. Last time I flew in there with an A330 and there were clouds right in front and over the runway. So I could only see left and right haha.

What I've always felt with the smaller jets is that flaring too early makes you bounce more often than not.
If you flare at 50 feet you're going to drop out of the sky

For flaring, recall the half a wingspan rule. That should get you into ground effect calmly.

When you’re landing, try shifting your focus down the runway. So, on final, you’re looking at the numbers, as you approach the runway, start looking at the middle of the runway, and by the end of the flare, you should already be focused on the end of the runway.

It actually injects traffic into MSFS that it then also controls.
So you get vectored around aircraft and stuff. And they also talk back and forth to the controller.
Cause it can't track/control aircraft in default MSFS. So it needs to inject it themselves

Checkout FlyByWire or Headwinds aircraft btw. They're freeware and imo absolutely amazing.
Some people have some opinion on it, but I mean... it's free and it's definitely better than a lot of payware.
The a32nx from FBW is great.

Fenix might be better, but FBW is still working on their a320. So might be worth reading a few more comparisons

The systems should work practically the same.
I like the fact FBW has integrated with everything. (I think Fenix as well).
Vatsim/CPDLC/Simbrief/Navigraph

Headwind has as well, but they basically using the same underlying program that FBW created

the difference is the fenix is an A320 - whereas the FBW is the A320neo (more efficient engines) - the FBW last I flew it was lacking a couple features but they're really not much of an issue (and I think the big ones have been added since)

VNAV works 🙂 Flown full starts with only managed decents. and TOD is pretty much always correct.
I'm not 100% if RNAV is 100% functional with the Approach button or if it's still a manual decent with the decent rate/degrees.

Not sure what it’s like for MSFS, but you should be able to run your own Cargo company. You c a pull loans for your company, hire more pilots and have them fly routes for you (helps you get more aircraft), and so on and so forth. You can even buy manufacturing operations (vertical integration) so you could ship those items yourself. I think I started an avionics line last time I checked.

Oh, one more additional great thing about the A320 and A330 is CPDLC.
Just requist your departure/flight clearance via datalink. No need to copy the long string of text back three times

Love American pilots on vatsim in Europe.
Over there a FL starts at 180 or above iirc.
In Europe it's very dependent and a lot lower. So FL060 can be a thing on departures. (EHAM departure used it a lot the times I was on.)
Had a few guys read back 6000 about 3 times every time and the controller wasn't having it hahaha

He was nice about it, but kept asking for FL060 => "Copy 6000ft" => "No FLIGHTLEVEL 060"

But well, in the end it was all fine. No one got stressed or pressed. 🙂

Quite a few imo.
I mostly just download the ones before I fly towards it. Most of the time any scenery mod is better than the original airport...
I can't name them by heart though, but definitely worth trying them out

Not at the top of my head.
But honestly, I generally just go to flightsim.to and search for the airport code.
You generally get some scenery and based on the images and reviews I go for it.
Normally I do it when the base MSFS is dissapointing, so it's mostly a "Can't be worse" kinda thing 🙂

And thats all of them. From the looks of it MSFS2024 will invest heavily into a career mode which effectively gives you something to do other than to fly from A to B, which frankly is super boring!

There is a small runway near the island i grew up on. I find it challenging to land there on aircrafts that is rated above the length of that runway. I fail most of the time, absolutely, but that is mostly because i dont know how to fly airliners

You can find it on MSFS\Xplane, with ICAO ENSR, try it for yourself!

"Aircraft Communications Addressing and Reporting System" essentially it's a Datalink that allows messages and data to be transmitted between aircraft and base stations I.E. if I had to divert to a different airport I could notify the airline headquarters anywhere in the world without needing voice radio or phone communications.

Also used for sharing weather reports.

Resources aren't infinite, even for Microsoft. There would still be a purchase process Asobo / MS would have to follow to allocate Azure resources to MSFS, even if it's an internal one. Just flew a nice VFR flight in Germany, overshot the runway slighty.on landing, turned back in to taxi to parking

1. Fly in the Bell 407. Yank the cyclic back and forth and tell me if that is correct.

2. Try to achieve a stable hover in the H125 without manipulating the collective. Its really weird how that behaves.

you need to do the ppl airplanes, then the cpl airplanes (to earn some money to go for the cpl helicopters) then you can do all of the helicopter licenses

you only need the PPL, but you need to earn cash as you dont have enough for CPL-H, and CPL-P is cheaper so you gotta to CPL-P first

After i got my hover power set, i took my hand off the collective entirely and it just lives its own life!

Can do the same thing in the R66, and this feels right. Alot of wind so a pitch up would generate more lift and vica pitch down would generate less lift.

it's identical to the "first solo flight", but somehow much easier. i got a C on "first solo flight" and like 99% on the PPL cert

it's weird to me how they've broken things up. the commercial cert is just basic navigation stuff that you should absoluteley know before getting a PPL

Having real trouble getting the sound to output correctly. Refuses to output to my external speaker or headphones. So flying in silence all the time. Very annoying. Also seems to freeze when I click quit to desktop so have to kill it with task manager each time. Guess it wouldn't be MSFS without janky UI and bugs.
