almost but no
ah alr
doesn't X+ currently have like 80-something?
it has 100
the point is tho
X+ is the smallest you could make a rank with tetrios current userbase imo
put everyone in 100-player divisions
I sentence you to explosion
already exists
take your rank (not your rank, your place in the leaderboard)
add 99
divide by 100
round down
e.g. #8724. 8724+99 = 8823, so division 88
exists where
"it already exists" is not the same as "you can make that already" lol
that way people stop complaining about single matches
Why are ppl still texting here wtf
because More ranks = more fun am i right or am i right?
Trueeee
right rank - top .1%
wrong rank - everyone else
99 rank update when?
999 rank update when?
Every player gets their own rank
I dub thee the "JIMMYDUKESTR" rank
what is this
99999999 rank update
u have to be precise to the 0.001 tr to get a certain rank
in seriousness maybe reading the older threads i might think like this
the minuses below A- should be removed (like C- and B-), and the plusses below B (like c+ and d+) should be removed to compress top ranks a little more
so if the tl system is still using the lette grading system then it would be like D, C, B, B+, A-, A, A+, S-, S, S+, SS, U, U+, X-, X, X+
or smthng
bcs rn im noticing too much c- paried with d rank moments and it means tetra league matchmaking thinks that both of them are roughly "the same skill" which might be treue
true*
so like why not group all c- c and c+ into one c rank, and pair ppl up only with their rank unless they are on the border between two ranks (like if you're so close to S when you are S- then u might get paired up with them)
the thing is, as a former d rank, d rank does feel different from d+, c feels different from c+ etc
although we may not notice it a higher ranks
I feel like this is true but, they should be grouped together, because + and - essentially means higher end or lower end, so if for example b- b b+ were grouped together into b then b- would just be the lower tr b players and b+ the higher tr b players and so on, and its just a small variation in skill because a b- can beat a b+, although the b+ has more chances of winning
However this isn't true in higher ranks, in s1 a low x vs high x was essentially the difference from a b rank and an ss rank, and that shows all the more in s2 because the difference from b and b+ is rly small but the difference from x and x+ is otherworldly
What I'm tryna say is, ranks are distributed disproportionately, and that c+ is different from c in the same way high c is different from middle c if they were grouped together, meanwhile in higher ranks low u+ is different from high u if u rank was split in 3, bcuz I don't believe there's a difference from high d+ and low c-
imo it feels like a somewhat noticeable achievement when you cross the cutoff for a rank
so i don’t think seeing just rank number is like
uhh
makes ppl feel accomplished
unless ur in the top 100 or so imo
wdym almost but no, he's right
oh
they're powers of 2 (ignoring point) because the factor is 0.8, but they aren't consecutive
so
almost
but no
It’s still powers of 2 though lol
He didn’t say they were consecutive
If you want to be pedantic then it’s every 3rd power of 2
they kinda definitely did

Instead of more rank, rank percentile should change
the reason its target TR
is because ranks are percentile based
they just WANT TO align to TR values
but if it was only TR based
then, for example, at the start of a season, every person would be in the low ranks
then over time too many people would be in certain ranks
After having introduced to a bunch of friends to the game I feel like there is quite a difference between D-A.
But after U, most of us go by TR anyway.
