Could someone explain to me how the group system in Gorilla Tag should work? I can easily create/join a private lobby/room with code and I can get my friend there, but if we would like to then join a public room together it either does not work or I don't understand how it should work.

If we are both in the tree next to the computer and one of us uses the Group page on the computer to select a target area and then hits enter I can see the room code changes and we are both still in the same room but still in the tree.
Should it put us directly in the selected area? We just seem to remain in the tree and even if the room code is the same for us when we try to go to any game area outside the three then we just both automatically join some random game room and are no longer together.

How should this work?

Are all players within the group on the same queue and gamemode? If not, you'll keep joining new lobbies when you try to exit the stump.
What is happening is that you're both in the same group, and one of you takes you both to a public lobby, but the other person has different lobby settings, so when that second person walks out of stump it attempts to take you both to a lobby with the second person's lobby settings instead.

So just make sure everyone is on the same queue + gamemode and it should work as expected

But I'm still a big unsure how it should work regarding target room/area selection. If I choose one from the computer, should it put us there or should we still walk to that area from the tree? What if we go through other game rooms or want to switch? Do we need to always change the area from the computer and join ne group or is following behind the other player enough once we have joined the same public room?

The game will never teleport you, we try to not do that here!
You use the computer nearest to the map you'd like to group join to. It doesn't allow you to group join to a beach lobby from the stump computer! Only the beach computer.

The computer in stump gives you a selection of rooms because there are a number of maps that are directly attach to stump and use its computer

Yeah, that's kind of logical. I'm not too familiar with the areas yet. My son has played more than me. Is it so that all the areas shown in the computer as targets to join are directly connected to the area where you are and you need to go directly there after selecting to join that area in a group?

If you anyway need to manually travel to the area of your choise when using the group feature, I think it's redundant that you would need to choose it on the computer at all. Why not just "activate group" (with no specific target room/area) and the game should figure out what to do just based on which area you actually travel to after that. Feels like there's one small unnecessary step. 🙂

You can! If you're already in a public lobby, that is. The group function on the computer is only for private -> public lobby joining. For public to public, you can literally just walk to another map to bring other people with you! There are small rock totems near each map entrance, if they are lit up with hand-prints, then that means everyone is close enough to it, and everyone can be taken to the next lobby. The friendship bracelet system is pretty cool!!

Aye guys i was in a hunt lobby and people were saying i was too good and started making a team to team on me later it was a 5v1 and they kept saying "i have green (me) go slow her down" and "purple i have you so dont come near me" and all sorts of teaming stuff later they started trash talking and i said "atleast i dont team in a hunt lobby" and they said that i was being toxic by saying that? Then they spam reported me and even got OTHER people in the lobby to report me. One person was begging this person so much and she had anxiety and they kept begging her and she got anxiety they still kept asking even after she said she had anxiety then i said they were teaming and that is basically cheating which is against the rules and they said "no it does not say no teaming anywhere on the rule board" and thats true but also isn't it common sense that teaming is like cheating? They were getting on my nerves and said they were better then me so i said "okay 1v1 me then" they kept refusing which made me more mad because i already get mad easily but then they jumped over me once but obviously i read that but after i tagged them they got in my face saying "ankles gone" and after a while they left if you guys wanna see footage lmk but idk if i should tell mods or not cause obviously it happens abunch but what do you guys think?
