Ok might be a bad example but think of it like this

"Legal" (I'm using the umbrella term there isn't actually any allowed" are like Jay walking irl. They ca get you in trouble but the risk is very very low.

While "Illegal" is like robbing a bank. Your almost definitely getting in trouble.

They both (legal illegal) carry the risk of a ban but one is low risk, the other is extreme risk.

theres a setting that does that on standalone, ask your friend if they use the “adjust height” setting in accessibility but idk ur friend so it depends how tall they are irl

Btw if you were only using mods from the modding discord (pc release channel only) and were both in a private with your friends I doubt that's what got you bonked by the ban.

Other stuff is also cheating like doing glitches, bugs, outside the map etc.

Tracking glitches are also a no no.
