I believe in you! The key to wall movement is to remember 2 key fundamentals:
1: you move in the exact opposite direction you push, so try to push in straight lines so they're more controllable!
2: as long as something is in the way of the direction you're pushing, you will have grip. That's how people vertical typically, they jump at the wall, have your hand ready to push straight down ( but still into the wall, you don't want to push air ), and then let the wall come to you. If you reach out at the wall, you'll push yourself away from it. It just takes a bit of time!

Its been explicitly clear in the rules from day one that you just can't be uncatchable which feels reasonably clear.
