The way the game currently is, you play the game, to play the game. Which is very open ended, and gives gorilla tag a lot of its charm. You're not punished for not doing a certain task, instead you can do whatever you want, and have a good time.

I believe the issue you see is rooted in the lackluster server finding system. It's an amazingly simple and immersive concept, just walking to the place you want to play in, but it is a horrible system when it comes to helping people find lobbies that relate to what they want to do

Well for starters I agree that server finding is absolutely trash right now, and it would be nice if the mods were a little more open and transparent about it.

I also agree that you can’t really force someone to play a physically exhausting game, especially over a long period. Breaks are going to happen. The problem in lies when a group of monkey kind of just rally around and talk to each other or run around the map doing their own little thing, instead of playing the game. Clearly they aren’t tired at this stage, they are just lazy.

So how can we incentivize playing? Well for starters stuff like daily missions can certainly help, “be the last gorilla alive”, “tag - players”, “tag 5 players in one reset”, etc. now this will be the most help during the rush when like 30k people are on, because people are constantly in and out of servers so you are bound to get a few players just hopping on to get challenges done.

Are there still issues? Yes. The player base is mostly children, which don’t have the drive to play most of the time. Lemming also doesn’t wanna give out shiny rocks. Maybe there could be a battle pass? Who knows.

Personally I wish there would be some attention put towards the lobby finding system. Finding people who want to play the game in the same way you do, would alleviate a LOT of the issues imo

My personal suggestion would be a server browser system, but instead of simply being located primarily on the PC, have a Bulletin Board system so you can browse them at a glance while near it.
Lobbies show up as "posters" on the board, with small lobby descriptions written on them, as well as the lobby code. You could even have preset images you could choose to show the vibe of the lobby. Lobby creation could all be handled within a single tab on the computer.
Option 1: type short lobby description
Option 2: choose map
Option 3: choose poster image

So it'd be entirely supplemental to the current system, instead of an entirely new one
