this is gonna be unpopular but if u can save for the pro I would suggest it over the index purely because of the pancake lenses.
New lense tech that came out a couple years ago, it's a night/day difference.
With classic fresnel design, there's a sweet spot of clarity, so typically most looking is done with your head, not your eyes, especially when reading.
With pancake, the entire lens is the sweetspot. Full clarity. For that fact alone it's more worth it to me. Having a significantly better way to view VR is imperative to me

For daily quests, what would the tasks be? You explain how they should be but you're not giving examples of what they should be.
Which is where it gets really hard imo. For every quest idea you come up with, for it to be worth the coding time, it has to be related to something that is already easily measured by the game. There is no back end setup to see how many hospital flips you can do, how do you know when someone is wall running vs just moving on a flat surface? It starts to become a exponentially hard task the more you try to flesh it out.

I highly appreciate that you put a bit of time and effort into thinking about these
I think you put forth a very good idea in making it gamemode based! That does help alleviate the "type of play" issue a bit, but I put forth this, what about the players who only play in privates? The ones who can't/don't play publicly because they either get harassed in one way or another due to any number of reasons. Or the people in casual modes? How would you reward them?
And remember, a big issue for Lemming and time based tasks, is the fact that he keeps the current system because it doesn't take much time, and it's accessible to everyone who just plays the game. You don't have to do anything if you really just want SR, just start up the game for a minute or two to run to city to ensure you've gotten them. There's no incentive to be "better", just an incentive to be in gorilla world, however you want to be.

On top of that, if you were to have gamemode unique objectives, that then multiplies the complexity of the entire system based on # of gamemodes which isn't ideal in terms of production/time efficiency
