Actually I tested on an alt with the fun bar and even if it's turned off your cosmetics stay
I tried and it just removed the cosmetics your wearing they still appear on your cosmetic inventory

Something I would like is it start on you arm but if you grab it it stays in you hand until you place it back on the arm
