The Monke Renaissance

I’ll be real — something has been off with this game for a while now. Even verified creators like Finger Painters, AA Badge holders and Illustrators are speaking up about it. The updates have been feeling empty. Cosmetic after cosmetic, but no moment where you load in and feel genuinely excited. That feeling used to define this game.

So here’s my idea — the Monke Renaissance.

The Stump needs a revamp, cleaner and less cluttered. Bring back the Attic as its own accessible space and restore the Basement properly with the maze working again. The Monkeblocks mall needs more life too - Add the maps like Skatepark to the mall, add a walk-through aquarium in the shopping area, and move the Arcade to a proper third floor in the Nice Gorilla Store with new machines, claw machines, rhythm games and head to head stuff with other players.

The open world also needs more life. Birds in the forest, beehives you can accidentally aggro, fireflies at night, fish in little ponds. Add some environmental events like snowstorms with wind that pushes you around, heavy rain or foggy nights — even seasonal these would get people talking for weeks. And actual minigames like basketball would bring back that hang out energy early Gorilla Tag had.

This community is one of the most passionate in VR. So we deserve better

I’m doing pretty good, honestly. Today started off weird because I woke up way earlier than I needed to for absolutely no reason. I looked outside and the weather couldn’t decide what it wanted to be. One minute it looked sunny, the next minute it looked like it was about to rain, so I just sat there for like ten minutes questioning whether getting out of bed was even worth it. Eventually I got up because I was hungry, but there was basically nothing good to eat, so I ended up making something random that somehow tasted both amazing and terrible at the same time. While I was eating, I started watching videos, and somehow one video turned into another and suddenly like an hour disappeared without me realizing it.

After that I tried to actually be productive, but every single thing kept distracting me. I cleaned part of my room, found old stuff I forgot existed, got distracted looking through it, and then somehow made an even bigger mess than before. At one point I found an old charger and spent twenty minutes trying to figure out what device it even belonged to.

I still have no idea. Then I remembered I had something important I was supposed to do earlier, but by then I couldn’t even remember what it was, so now it’s probably going to randomly come back to me at 2 AM when I’m trying to sleep.

Later on I went outside for a bit because staying inside all day started making me feel like a cave goblin. The air was actually nice, though there was this one guy revving his car for literally no reason like he was in some action movie. I walked around for a while, listened to music, and thought about random stuff like how every friend group somehow has one person who disappears for weeks and then randomly returns acting like nothing happened. I also saw a bird steal food from another bird, which honestly looked personal.

When I got back home I tried playing games, but every match was either unbelievably easy or felt like I accidentally joined a professional tournament. There was no in-between. At some point I got hungry again even though I already ate earlier, so I made another snack and immediately regretted eating it too fast because now I somehow felt both hungry and full at the same time, which should not even be possible.

The rest of the day was mostly just chaos in small amounts. My phone battery kept dying even though I swear I charged it. I kept opening apps and forgetting why I opened them. I thought about sleeping early, but then I remembered sleeping early is basically a myth at this point. So now I’m just existing, surviving entirely on music, random thoughts, and whatever motivation I can find. Overall though, not a bad day. Just one of those random days where nothing important happens but somehow a lot still happens.

Earlier in 2025, we announced that there would be a community reset for bans. That plan has not been cancelled, but it is not ready to be implemented in the game yet. Because of this, we are not processing appeals for permanent bans at this time.

When we are ready to begin unbanning permanent accounts, we will make an announcement. At that point, players who are permanently banned will be invited to submit a new appeal.
You will be allowed to apply for one account only. Anyone who submits appeals for multiple permanently banned accounts will not have any of those accounts unbanned. If we discover after the fact that someone requested more than one permanently banned account, all of those accounts will be banned again.

We are taking this approach because we now have several new systems in place that give us confidence in taking this chance. We understand that people can change and we want to put trust in those who wish to return and contribute positively.

We will not be reaching out individually to invite people to re appeal.

If you wish to return, please apply when permanent ban appeals reopen.
We cannot provide a date for when this process will begin. Thank you for your patience.
