Study. Pay attention to what works. Try different things. Learn the heroes individual skills. Watch some YouTube videos or Google it.
At your level most lineups can be countered pretty easily and you should be able to go up 200+ ranks per attempt.

Colosseum Suggestion: There should be "matchmaking" so lower-might players have a chance in their kingdom. My teams average at 22K might but I always find 24K-28K players, I am too low might to beat them. For each player, have other players in the kingdom be available to verse based on their defense team's might. That way, it would really help F2P players.
