I wouldn't suggest it no. you better keep your gems to buy the items needed to upgrade your battle hall/treasure trove/prison and the other one I'm blanking on the name.
Except if you going for a head start on a fresh kingdom for coloseum it's a wast of gems (in my opinion)

And even if you do want a head start for coliseum, you'll probably spend more gems that you'll get back so you wouldn't even have made a profit

Save the battle reports, and send them to Live Support in the in-game Help menu.
Tell them that you are unable to log on due to the regional outage.
They should be able to refund your troops and resources lost. It'not a gusrantee that they will, but there have been people who have gotten their request.
If your request goes through, you will receive most of your resources back, plus resources and speeds needed to remake the troops. And you'll get to keep the troops in the sanctuary.
And please remember that a little kindness can go a long way, especially for a customer support agent who's been dealing with rude people.

Monster hunt a lot, colo helps bring in gems, do as many events like gf and kvk, guild bash, even lords ball if f2p for as many materials and gems possible, spend money if you can, get into a decent guild if you can't spend. I'm guessing the gems part got you down a bit but if not, what are you stuck with??

Yeah sadly it costs around 600k gems. That's why I said try to do as many events as possible for the gems and rewards. A decent guild that spends money will have gems, guild coins, soul crystals etc in the gifts

Depends if you are a spender or not. War is one of the best way I would say but if you don't spend money you'll have trouble getting the soldier quick enough.
If you don't spend just play every day and do the hero statue quest / coliseum / progression quests

Before banking the quest use a 25% xp bonus increase though

So just wait until you have a bunch

so you don't waist the 25% bonus (it's a 24h thing)

wall research ? Well, you get the xp from the quest reward about doing them. I don't think it increase your xp other than that. people usually don't recommand to do those research as your wall is only marginally helpfull to tank low level players but end up being destroy by high level players. (also the might you get from those almost useless research may be an issue later on to switch kingdom as the price for switching kingdom depend on your might ranking in that kingdom. so you don't want to have useless might if you can help it)
