Material highest tier first will auto select the correct amount of troops to gather the tile using highest tier troops you have (assuming you have enough troops to empty the full tile).
Materials lowest tier first does the same thing but using lowest tier, also assuming you have enough troops.
Army highest tier just send a full march of your top troops (ie T5 Inf if you have them)
Army lowest tier sends a full march of your lowest troops (T1 inf if you have them)

Any pack over $100 will unlock elite lab. There's many different ways to go about it. Material madness isn't the cheapest but generally considered best value overall
(obviously you need to but mat madness a few times in a row to go over $100)

Crown jewels scales better at 100. If you're spending $170 on mat madness it's better to do the $20 over time. That's why I recommend the jewel pack instead.
But if you're only spending that and nothing else then yeah Mat Madness is probably the best option.

It's very obvious from your screenshot that the leader was captured more than a day ago, so must have been before kvk started. And also obvious from your screenshot that your girl has a 2 day gap with no shield before kvk.
One can also surmise that such a tiny wall would have repaired itself in that time. So it's an easy bet that either she healed troops in infirm and deleted the report and lied about it, or she didn't lose any other troops because she was, as you say always garrisoned when not shielded, but forgot to sent leader to garrison. And deleted the report.
