2. You get one rare equipment piece and like 10 souls. Battle mode should be strictly for FoS grinding

Depends on the characters in Survivor that have bonuses. If it's a really common character like Scorpion or Sub Zero, expect more time needed because there are a lot of Scorpion and Sub Zero cards.

2. It’s MK11 season, first MK11 season in a LONG time. Expect some hardcore grinding

Everyone grinds faction wars. How hard you grind compared to the majority of your faction determines how high you place. Grind more than average players, rank higher, grind less than average, rank lower. Grind an average amount and you should do fine

The strategy would be
As soon as kabal tags in,
Switch to jade and snare him (jade should preferably have a block breaking equipment)
Keep chaining with jade until he almost reaches a bar of power, then switch to scorpion to apply 🔥,
Then as soon as Sub zero is available switch to him(by now his sp2 should be ready), hit it to for power draining kabal, then switch back to jade
And continue the cycle
