I personally chose to grind skarlet pack and ignore all other packs including discounted ones until i got fx scorpion and sub zero. Now these 2 clear all towers for me no problem. Clearing a tower grants a diamond. This is how i obtained every diamond in the game

Skarlet i used her for survivor. The tower equipment i got helped me perform better at survivor and get more diamonds from there. Faction wars pack has a chance to grant diamonds

If you're a beginner, i wouldn't recommend you try hard in towers. If the battle is impossible to win for you, just exit the match and you will have rewards like any of us. Only clearing the tower gives a guaranteed diamond. Tower gear drop randomly and are the big stuff from towers

My aim wasn't to level up my characters. It was to farm koins. All my characters reached level 50 and i kept grinding until all my equipment got maxed out
