Ehh... partially, there are many golds to be at a decent fusion, yes, so you can go weekly challenge, and beat it and get that gold, twice (normal to hard though elder is a bit difficult because you need some specific characters/gold that needs to be at a decent fusion, oh and gears), but on the other hand, I probably would try and get only characters that you need for farming more golds, thus keeping your souls and only buying whenever you need to (if you feel it's not enough)
