It’s clear what Hutch is doing. This game will become pay, and pay a lot to play. Not just pay to win, you literally will not be able to get anywhere in the game without paying a lot. They have just made it virtually impossible to fuse a car unless you buy keys to get cars for fodder. There will be no way to get anywhere in the game by playing, only paying. They will make some good money for a bit then this game will die off as new people won’t bother because they will be expected to pay hundreds of dollars for things that early players got effectively for free.

Clearly MTG told Hutch they were not profitable enough when they bought the company. This is Hutch’s attempt to get as much from players as possible. I would suggest they follow the model of Hill Climb Race 2 which is more than 100 times more profitable than this game, but I’m sure they won’t listen. You can get people to pay, but not by ruining the game.

We're working on bringing new features to the game that add rewards, Clubs is one of those.

We're also creating Fusion Credit Keys that will randomise around the Manufacturer. Resource Keys will also have a chance of paying out Stage 6 Resources.

We're trying to balance around these changes.

Games like this, especially now that you added clubs, need free to play players to keep them going. You will not have enough players will to spend hundreds of dollars. Hill Climb has a straightforward path for free to play to play all day and grind forward. You can eventually get everything if you play long enough and watch ads. The cost of things is reasonable, and make sense. Right now you would require me to pay over $100 to get and fuse the A mini. That’s one car, one single car, so the price is just stupid. I would pay something reasonable, not stupid, over the years I paid hundreds to Hill Climb, but I got a ton of playing time for years. Every single change you are making is completely devastating to new players and free to play.

The grinding of upgrading cars is the worst, but I still play. The update on the crates now are a joke now. Then now they take away the fusion from cars in the shop. Sorry, not exactly sure what you are saying but more than 10 million in cash and tons of resources to fuse one single car in the game seems very expensive to me. Plus the mini club competition will be over, the x raid won’t help there. Only reason to fuse is to do better in the h2h and ladder. Only people who have been playing a long time and spend a lot of money can consider fusing the x raid. It seems better to save resources for upgrading Porches for the next club competition.

This week has felt a bit doom and gloom. Positive things coming up:

• Next week I'll be running competitions across all Rebel Racing social Media channels (including Discord) to win an X-Raid, so if you didn't get one in clubs, you have another chance to win one.
• We've mentioned Smash Events coming back soon. I'll see if we can share some more on those because they've been completely re-imagined and aren't like the old open arena.
• The first Porsche's that will be released in the next update aren't the only ones we have planned for the game. We will be expanding the Manufacturer in the garage later in the year.

I don't know what sort of things you see as good, so i don't know if any of the above ticks your boxes. There are things I'm aware of that I can't talk about that are good - so you'll have to wait on those things :S

The competition was mentioned in the patch notes, so I've been talking about it for a while. Ian wasn't trying to block me there, he was trying to heavily reassure everyone we wont be selling the car or offering it in game as a reward/purchase option for anything other than Clubs.
But, I can fully appreciate how this has come across - his statement is very "no one will ever see this car but the Club winners!". I'll see if we can avoid that sort of mixed message in the future! We are definitely sticking to the rule of "If the car is a Clubs Prize Car, it wont be in the shop or a non-club event"

You can get free gold from watching ads, but in very low quantity. Then you can win some gold from free entry events, thought those are veeery rare. Finally, you can slowly collect free keys to open crates that maaaaaybe give you some gold...
But if you want a lot of gold in the short term, you will have to pay; thats how the game is designed.

Current gameplan is to fuse straightaway and enter H2H late and then fuse again straight after and enter round 2 H2H on Saturday.

This will put me in a disadvantage in terms of point because so many people who didn't/can't fuse the X raid will have lots of points by the time I enter.

Alternatively I can just enter H2H with 4 star X raid and ignore the ladder.

i actually followed @slim lily advise ; locked all crate cars and only using cash cars (upgraded and augmented) for buggy - i m guessing u need 1900 points for 4-5

Well my assessment is one has be to very selective in fusing and upgrading the cars... you wont be able to fuse many or upgrade them . There will be more frequent release of cars i m guessing ... not sure how this will impact the game, i can only hope some one has thought through this in Hutch 🙏

Agreed. It's going to be a lot slower process than it has been already. I'm pretty sure Hutch will be hoping on it encouraging more real money to be spent one way or the other.

There are 2 aspects to it imo. real money approach wont last long; but on the other hand they might introduce new stuff to support racers through these new changes ( which will be wise).. I am also thinking they are trying to remove some less valued variables for smooth game play as they try to expand ( like clubs etc). This wont be easy i know that from experience and achieving a balance will be hard. So lets see how it comes along 🙂

I can also confirm that in a future update it won't be possible to fuse using cars that can be bought from the store for Cash, so it will make it easier for players to fuse by avoiding the need to buy many cars to fuse with.

There you go it will be easier to fuse the cars in future 😆😆
