i tried treads but it felt super underwhelming
been thinking of flutter or bundle

So I’ll start with the SUPER basics and if you have any additional questions, feel free to ask here. Competitive Pokemon (real life tournaments) uses the VGC ruleset which is double battles. Each side selects 4 pokemon from their team of 6 and you battle it out from there. Teams are made with the competitive ruleset in mind at the time. These are called Regulations, and we are currently in Regulation I until August. Regulations will either add or take away pokemon depending on whatever The Pokemon Company decides.

You can play VGC in one of two ways from home. You can either play on pokemon showdown (a website that’s free to play on) or in the game itself (called “Cart” by most players). If you’re just learning the game, I recommend playing on pokemon showdown. You can build teams instantly and go from game to game really quickly. It also allows you to see a ton of helpful info that the game doesn’t tell you.

Lastly, I recommend starting out by using teams that other people create and use in real tournaments. That way you can focus on learning the game/improving rather than being held back by teams that are bad and don’t work
