Alright taking into account all the advice I’ve reworked their movesets a bit. Indeedee has fake out, tinkaton has play rough, chi-yu has the dark type move ruination, and I changed tinkaton to a rocky helmet giving the weakness policy to chi-yu as special attack boosting is very critical for them with overheats drop

That’s a very valid and accurate assessment since it’s a team I put together over the course of the main games playthrough. I never even considered doubles or even competitive play until indigo disk hooked me on doubles format. And yeah reuniclus is always gonna be the number 1 Pokemon of my team he’s just so perfect :D
I’ve been working on adjusting my movesets and items the last couple hours too so hopefully it works out better

teambuilding is a tough process even for the best of players that is usually a collaborative effort. jumping in solo ur first day essentially is an extremely steep mountain to climb

terrain expander bad because rillaboom and miraidon, also it already lasts long as hell, usually people go water spout on kyogre because one billion damae but ig the idea is to use it with water absorb? swords dance kinda sucks in vgc because you dont really have time to setup on most pokemon, outrage dosnt really make sense on arch specially with specs, like if you want a phisical attack body press is right there same with earthquake, getting locked into electro shock with specs if they change out the rain is really bad

mostly playtest and you can find out why the stuff on your team doesnt work yourself just by seeing the consequences of your actions lol id recomend testing stuff over thinking about it tbh

I’ve honestly made a conscious choice to avoid meta discussions and just focus on what I’d like to make work cause when it gets to that point where the only option is relying on a preset build it loses a lot of fun for me. I did have a ton of enjoyment today working out the synergy with what I’ve made though

I legit wrote my teams on paper

i also think its easier to playtest on showdown because
1: switch networking fucking sucks and pokemon is sooooo slow on switch
2: showdown lets you see whats happening in the game much easier
and 3: showdown lets you really easily do small adjustments
