Hi c: I'm trying to get into VGC battling and ive watched a bunch of videos on the subject, and I'm trying to start making my first team, but I really don't know where to go with it, all I know is one specific pokemon (palafin) I want to use. If anyone could offer any help with teambuilding I'd be glad :)

Beginner resources are readily available in the pins. I do have to temper your expectations that a lot of the time our preferred picks are going to be inefficient choices with respect to the metagame and can suffer in performance to varying degrees

For example, with Palafin, Urshifu-Rapid Strike essentially does it's job a lot better, without the drawback of requiring those switches to get going. With a format like Regulation G (Restricted), a negative tempo play like that can be capitalised on heavily

Palafin probably fits best on the Balance archetype

As you have strong solid choices that also tend to compliment the typing/provide splashable utility for the team to try and mitigate that aspect of Palafin.
