Honestly, the thing out of Sidekicks I am intrigued on is if it meant we'd get collabs in akin to SpongeBob tbh.
Where it doesn't necessarily need to be just the sidekick, but also other cosmetics that accompany it that's focused on the IP.

They were seemingly getting a Jam Track originally, but didn't go through.
Nintendo has so far been the only one being a hassle over cuz they don't want any of their characters appearing on other consoles.
So they're pretty stingy on that.
I do hope we get more Sonic cosmetics in the future, even if it's not necessary a skin/sidekick though.

Jake was able to fit because he's able to stretch his body with not much limitations, Crash can't really do that.
And he's been on a mech in a game before, they'd just need to modify the limbs on the mech arms.

Especially with investors we're basically asking them to push into the mobile business alternatively which Nintendo tried doing for a good bit in case.

And also to show Metroid was truly back and it wasn't just the 3DS remake they had at the time.

Oh I know they have prior, Cleveland Brown and Danny Phantom are among those examples
I just don't know if Activision thinks the same way as how SEGA does with Sonic and wanting him to be accurate.
I would not be opposed/against a Tall Crash Bandicoot skin at all.
