Just a reminder for all of the fellow Switch 2 beans out there that you can now play Fall Guys in handheld at the same resolution as docked mode by enabling “Handheld Boost Mode” in the system settings!

Once you update to the latest system update, that feature will allow Fall Guys to run at 1080p in handheld mode just like docked, which will make the game look way less blurry on the built in screen compared to the 720p that the original Switch 1 handheld mode supported

It’ll definitely be more noticeable in the lobby and during celebrations since you’ll be closer to the beans

Handheld Boost Mode just bumps handheld mode in Switch 1 games to run at the exact same settings as the game does in docked mode since the Switch 2 in handheld mode is significantly more powerful than the Switch 1 was in docked

In the case of FG it isn’t too groundbreaking since it isn’t one of those games that disables a bunch of effects in handheld mode, so the main benefit will be less jagged edges from the resolution increase

In the end, Fall Guys is a CPU-bound game mainly due to the way it handles multiple beans on the field. The hardware profiles for handheld and tv mode were set accordingly

Yeah, honestly SPM and ttyd were the last paper Mario games that actually felt like they had their own personality and wasn't just soulless copy paste type stories, because after those two games, I'm pretty sure Nintendo stopped adding original/new characters to the paper Mario games so they just became really boring afterward

I'd say that SPM was a decent game. I enjoyed it the first couple times through back in the day. It's a good mario adventure game but I don't know if it's a true Paper Mario game (in the sense that the first two were back in the day).

The first two are pretty similar and have an especially magical gameplay formula with decent stories. I'm so happy they remade TTYD and I hope they remake 64 as well.

Everything after SPM...well it's just not good. Extremely uninspired, confusing and tedious gameplay.

Yeah, spm was definitely a controversial game due to its completely different gameplay style and more story-based gameplay, so it ended up being something that either someone would love, not really care for, or absolutely hate

Ofc ttyd is probably the most infamous paper Mario game so that's a classic, but everything after SPM (once they stopped including original characters, limiting it to the already existing/basic characters of the Mario franchise), the series ended up becoming really bland, tedious, boring, and almost copy-paste like in several aspects so it kinda just lost the core of its creativity which imo is what led to the downfall of the paper Mario series

the europe servers have been down for about 6 hours with no word of them being down/when they'll be back up
switch to a different server for now, i'd recommend us central as it'll have the lowest latency i believe (i get around 120 ping on us servers)
