My personal point of view is that if they really wanted to make it more expensive, it would be a uniform change (eg doubling opening costs across the board rather than increasing it by series).

Also, as far as I could see, I don't think prices of other things have changed at all - if they do increase costs massively for one thing, for game balance you'd increase everything else in the shop by some degree too and that didn't happen

Yeah I think that's the root of the issue. If lets say we saw increases in buck drop rates, it's still do-able (eg. the crates start dropping say 25 to 50 bucks at S12 instead of the 1 to 5) I can still live with it. Judging from the early series drop rates that's not the case.

Hutch will lose its mid spenders who are the ones who buy pit pass and bucks each week/month for crate opening if they keep it this way. I’m sorry but 768 bucks to open a s12 legendary crate is ridiculous when over the last seasons it’s been 64. Even 96 bucks for a standard crate s12 is mental.

A lot of us who’ve played for years are unlikely to return or spend subsequently less on the game and then get bored of the progress. And I know this as many players I’ve had the pleasure of talking to over years of gameplay are refusing to open the game or even play while the system is drowning. These are players I know are p2w and provide strats for others for years.
If hutch is aiming to do this, then I think it’s the wrong direction they are taking.
Personally and from what is seen from countless other players just from scrolling through the chat today, your stats end of next season will be a fraction of the recent one.

If you race 10 sprints on a Monday, it’d be 40-45 duels. If a green S12 crate costs 48 bucks to open, it’d be insane to spend 48 x 40 =1.920 not counting gold crates you get in the process!

I've said this elsewhere, but I am beginning to wonder if we underestimate the top end of spenders in this game. If lets say these people are spending 10x or even 100x the mid spenders (ie those who buy pitpass only or sth), it might make sense to make such a move to get top spenders to spend even 20% more of what they normally spend. I don't like it as a mid spender, but it's what it is.

But... IMO it's short sighted because half the game is finding new players to spend on the game, just milking the top tier is not good long run as there'll always be user churn.

They'll see the current activity stats hold up as the season starts, but honestly I expect the full year stats to look very low if this keeps up (they'll have high revenue per user, but the user base will be a fraction of what it was)

Completely agree with you. But mid spenders are usually the ones who buy pit pass and then maybe a bundle each week or two. Thats around £40-£60 a month. Most of that is bought so that they can grind series and have asset trading open and have enough assets everyday to trade with.
I’m in that category and only use bucks for crate openings as that’s the sensible way to do it. Unfortunately that option has now been stripped from me and countless others.
I hope it’s a mistake and gets rectified. But we aren’t getting any direct answers as of yet. Fingers crossed 🤞🏽

I was looking at the GP offers and wondering who would buy the 8300 buck package (which is ~£100), and I calculated that you would need to do that a few times to hit the sponsor tasks. And then because I finished high in champs tier too early (top 10 twice before December), I kept running into those people in my GP events - easily at least 20-30 if I reached the finals. It was scary but it told me that people were genuinely spending those amounts to get say a Legendary Senna L4 (which was available as 0.8% drop rate and you needed to get it 5 times)

In order for any game, mobile or console, there needs to be revenue brought in by players to ensure that the game actually continues. Now whether that’s buying packs, dlcs, whatever.

60% of players if not more, buy pit pass and bundles each week to get ahead and grab assets they didn’t have. If things tip the scales and make it unaffordable for those players, they stop spending and stop playing. New players will also look at this and spend initially then when they see the changes as they progress they will spend less.

Less revenue, less money for improvements, game eventually dies.

F1 manager is a prime example. Too many bugs, no revenue, game gone. Simple

Free to play is impacted as any value bucks had is gone. Even if you had pit pass - just as an example , free to play won’t have it - at 50 bucks - you will only be able to unlock one crate. One standard crate. For roughly 500 games in a month. Multiply that by 13 - give or take 6500 wins and you won’t be able to even unlock one (yes one) legendary crate.

When a buck is valued at 3 minutes reduction - these things no longer have any value for you. They are as bad as the 10k coins we used to get at milestone 17. Bucks as a currency is deleted for the free to play and Low spenders. Even for mid spenders.
