The key part is the game uses the FIA model which never changed. Obviously, the real teams cars and liveries change in those years, but Hutch adapted all of them to the FIA model. Next season we will use the new FIA model, so it’s completely different.

Basically being down 40 points in PU is not as punishing as being 40 points down each in Speed/Cornering for PU focused tracks. But the same can't be said for Speed and Cornering-focused tracks. I believe it is because the PU stat focuses on how fast your PU bar recharges, rather than affecting the inherent speed of the car (which is speed and cornering stats)

We've had the same designs for years now without adding any new ones or improving the colour pallete (Suggested it 3 years ago) They've introduced a lot of new boost designs this season, id like to see them do the same for liveries. I’m racing in Champion tier, but honestly it’s starting to feel pointless. A large part of the field seems to be there just to fill the grid, because we realistically have no chance of making it to Sunday. The balance feels completely off.

I’ve spent some money here and there, so this isn’t just a free-to-play complaint, but the experience is still frustrating. At this point it feels less like competition and more like being thrown into the water just to keep the sharks fed.

Is there really no regulation or adjustment for this? Because right now Champion tier doesn’t feel competitive it feels like regular players exist only as content for the sharks.

Speed and Cornering impact your cars pace at all times, regardless of the track stat. PU works very differently and it varies from track to track for some strange reason. It affects the recharge rate mainly.

I personally don’t rate PU. In S12 I have 108 PU and can finish 1-2 at Abu Dhabi no problem.

I also don’t think the changes to some of the circuits and their track stats from the season change worked correctly. Some circuits are very odd if you follow the track stats..

Yeah PU stat is weird. But also I think PU preferences depend on your racing style as well. If you like to maximise pushing fast engine mode and conserve minimally, maybe higher PU is a better choice. If you like to go neutral and push minimally when needed, maybe a more balanced speed and cornering might suit you better. Both work equally well I think and require different styles.

I noticed a bit more speed can help you in cornering tracks and vice versa. It doesn't do much as it's not the main stat. But it's noticeable enough you can see it in places like the main straight in Barcelona, or inversely the area around the Sphere thingy in vegas.

Speed = acceleration and top speed.
Cornering = corner speed.

Dropping 20 cornering for 20 speed (random example) might be more beneficial with the acceleration gains.

Yeah I noticed adding teeter totter helped where the sphere chicane is, my drivers were taking the corner noticeably quicker but I still think the main stat is the way as you’re only helping small parts of the track instead of focussing on the full stat to get the most pace

It’s just weird how you sometimes have the exact same setup, drivers and boosts in OR and in FR, have two comparible (easy) opponents and have a staggering 1/2 finish on OR, having 20 second lead on nr3, but on FR they drop from 12 and 16 to 22 and 23, fighting back to 2/3, a long way behind nr 1

But I guess that is somewhat realistic as well. Sometimes even the best race starter om the grid stalls his engine when lights out.
