hours wise, I dunno, I haven't actually played a ton of ranked, I know it says how much you've played on your profile. Most of my hours are playing against my buddy

I played like the first few matches of it. Took forever in character creation because I get so indecisive about what to choose. I haven’t checked out the hub or did single player yet. Just training, trials and the online matches. I finished guile’s and Zangiefs!

🤔 hmmm what could I say about sf6 after 34 hours with de game. Def like floppy days that it feels like street fighter at the end of the day. The drive system or as I like to call it, the goop system is pretty good and for me, one of their better systems compared to the V stuff from 5. I just always hate the idea of having to select variations on things for fighters. Choose your v skill, your v trigger etc.

So for one, I like that they got rid of that with the goop system. It sort of makes me think of sf4 focus system, with how meter you can make yourself more offensive or defensive in any given moment. But in this case more flexibly so. So the game is very fun because it adds another layer of depth with the goop system. If you can manage your meter good and not do random drive things or random too many ex moves where you put yourself burnout, you can do things like save your life more or if the person your fighting isn’t doing to well against you then you can go all in on offense. It’s a smartly designed game.

If you hate the idea of meter management in a fighting game then I couldn’t recommend it since a lot of your ways in are through the goop system. You can still play orthodox technically and just rely on things like whiff punishes or counter attacks, but you would also be missing another layer of fun by not messing with the goop.

reading some of the knee-jerk reactions to the drive impacts vs how people talk about them now is satisfying to me.

I think it's a good system and has a ton of ways you can implement the meters to fit your play style but seems like some folks just hated the armor and simple execution.

I loved 4, didn't care much for 5, and love 6

Nice looking game, good presentation and such. Got into a vs cpu match finally in the demo and the controls and gameplay just felt odd. The characters feel heavy, and the controls have a weird clunkiness I can't get used to. Used my saturn pad which I've been using for fightcade, very responsive. I don't think it's for me.

Honestly doe I can understand if you or anybody else doesn’t want it. Preferences and all. I do think 6 is good. I’m not sure where it would fit in my scale yet but it’s definitely a good street fighter for me compared to 5. 5 is okayish. We can still play the oldies. Nothing tops that baby!

3s for life for me, but 6 is very fun when you're deep in those matches. I dropped 5 so hard after season 2, I just wasn't having fun and it didn't have a lot of personality

CPS3 is on hold. Reverse engineering it would take too long and tie up too many development resources for years, nothing being done in between. Anything Jotego learns from ngp should give him more experience when implementing CPS3 though. But without solving the reverse engineering part, there is nothing to be done. He could also just use MAME as source to get a playable core but that is not his goal as it doesn't advance the hardware preservation.

Also, when you get to the “update_all” part of setup. When you first run it you can mash some buttons and it’ll take you into extra options. Turn on “arcade_offset” and it will grab all the cps1/2 romhacks for QOL and stuff

charlies are basically sweep -> flash kick as many times as you can

and you throw a couple booms to close distance if its too far away

The ones you did with Ken and chun looked cool. Back in the day before the days of me having a pc or stick and playing alpha 3 max I had liked to mess around with Vism Charlie. Could do some nice setups and carry them to the corner with his bazooka knee and flash kicks. I haven’t attempted any of that on the stick yet. With refining guile’s confirm in ssf2t and juggling the other things I’m learning it’s been tough. But I like it.

It’s been true in my observation from the start. I was a sf4 bottom level local tournament player. Came into 6 not playing any fighting games. Placed bronze. Learned two combos, climbed to silver 5. Learned two more combos and how to land level 3 supers and went to gold 5. Then it was a struggle so I would go to the battle hub to practice

I’d stay there for a few weeks ready to test myself again and when I hopped back into ranked it was a snooze fest. The lower skilled players just feed off each other and rise together like a tide since you win more from a win then you lose from a loss

But for the first two months if i met a diamond in a casual match i might as well have put my controller down

Like they were incredibly better than me in every facet of the game, yet alone a master player

I learned some more tricks. Went 28 8 on my last push and settled for just making plat 5. Now here I am again since I miss pressing buttons and it’s straight up diamond 2 players fighting like silver. Never block on wake up, never teching throws, random drivr@impacts, wake up level 3s

Some of those characters just felt so much like Darkstalkers in that whole run Capcom did

I loved all the weird characters in Darkstalkers and then you come over and have such unique looking and well-animated characters based on the comics I had been into.

I don't know if the same folks worked on all the games but it sure felt like someone at Capcom stretched their legs way more in those games compared to Street Fighter's martial arts tournament setting.

Though, Street Fighter definitely had its moments.

It was wild truly. Like in those western movies where the protagonist walks in a bar and all the patrons are the meanest people you ever seen. The they went ham. It wasn’t a complete slaughter though. I beat some of these B ranked people up and came close many times.

It was the most boring matches I ever had though. They were playing ultra safe and just inching closer to me and safe jumps. They all played like that. I did at the very least though today fought a really good alpha 1 player who still is a human and not a robot. Matches where I could actually react and do things.

Here's my take:

If you really want a stick, or hitbox, or whatever satifies your fingers's fetish, don't be cheap.

You're spending money for the long term.

Spend a little more if you're able to.

Cheap stuff usually is less well made and don't have the best parts.

So unless you prefer a smaller stick go with a budget around €120 and up.

I actually bought the two bottom items. The brook cable for a custom stick and the F500 to mod with different parts. However, you will go over 100 if you plan to mod a stick. If you don't plan to mod, the price of the elite version of the F500 is worth it. If you do plan to mod, Sanwa parts work best for the mayflash stick (while others do fit, how well they fit is an issue. Hayabusa nearly fits and the PCB that is right above a button needed to be tilted to fit). I heard Seimitsu buttons fit, but the position of the switch and connectors may be problematic. Some sticks need to be mounted from the top since the inside case doesn't have enough mounting holes for sticks without Sanwa style mounting plates. Hori RAP sticks work better for Seimitsu parts.

Sega System 32 is my #1 most wanted core for the Mister (specifically for Outrunners) but realistically I wouldn't expect it anytime soon. As far as I know, no developer has announced interest in making it, let alone started any work.

I imagine Jotego is probably the developer most likely to try at some point in the future given that he's worked on Outrun, System 16 and now System 18, but even the base Outrun core was a lot of work for him, with System 32 being a good deal more difficult. It also looks like he'll have his plate full for the forseeable future just on stuff he's already announced work on.

tldr: I sincerely hope it happens sometime in the future as well, I just wouldn't count on it happening anytime soon. In the meantime, I've been playing a lot of 60 FPS Outrun on the Saturn Sega Ages port, and Sega Rally Championship

Not by the current developer. He has explained that the problem with the de10 is bandwidth, using a shared bus. The analogue pocket although using a smaller FPGA, has independent memory systems. Someone might or not find a way around that, but the current developer has spent 6 months trying before giving up, so can't really fault him from moving on.
