The laptop runs an Intel Ice Lake integrated graphics processor, I looked online but I couldn't find a fix.
Steps to Reproduce:

  • Open display settings
  • Change resolution and refresh rate buttons are greyed out, can't be pressed.

I'll attach any necessary information upon request (I don't really know what I need to provide). Thank you in advance

The laptop is fairly new I think, but definitely not top-of-the-line
Also, sorry for the late response

Alright

#

Nothing appears to have changed

#

xrandr --prop still only shows one resolution mode

revert back to kernel 6.8.0-51 from grub

#

once booted back in, confirm in terminal: uname -r

deep lynx

@mortal umbra
first, try checking for updates with update manager and reboot after installing necessary system updates

run this in terminal, display may flicker for a moment
xrandr --output eDP-1 --mode 1920x1080

then check display settings and see if your resolution and refresh rate are selectable

if that does not work, try turning off fractional scaling in
System settings > Display
and look for an option labeled Fractional Scaling, which is probably turned on. It needs to be off

I followed the steps in the tutorial accurately but after some flickering on the screen it reverts to the default resolution

I cant use wayland though, it is much too unstable and doesnt support switching lenguages yet either
