so, just having 4 books and 4000 pages to read about to finish high school maths... isn't really working out for me. so instead I wanna learn topic by topics instead. basically, you people would come here and tell me topics to read or know about then I research and go indepth with them. and I uh explain it and the pros and cons and you ask me questions and I give answers. Like an intern or freelancer of some sort of. My goal is to complete high school maths before may 31st or I'm cooked and all of this really isn't gonne be much of use.
#alright uhhhmm new game new rules

you're gonna get cooked trust me
I already am
packing all of that shit is for like the elites of the elites
I lost 1 whole month of summer holidays
💀
in absolute nothingness
bro dawg
theres this one course at harvard
math 55
all of undergraduate math in 2 sems
it's fun as long as u know what the symbols mean and lead to
so its 1:
packed with imo students
2: over 2 semesters and not even 1 month
I like learning things deep
yeah you're not gonna learn deep with this
but anyways
You're just impatient. Reading the books is the way you learn. Plus you can't expect people to teach you the stuff that youre willing to learn when you want to learn it. Closing this thread is probably a good idea
hey I've spent like 15 hours a day for 6 days while working on some bullshit theory
it's not like this will get it worse
when do you fucking eat
well I don't wanna read books they make me doze off
how long do you sleep bro
I genuinely thought you were willing to learn. But you're not
I am but I can't read when I feel like sleeping everytime
Get over it. learning isn't easy it's not supposed to be
You're not good enough to learn specific stuff. You need to understand baby maths for now
Impatient
And what is this name "new game rules". Who do you think you are??
havwe you done Calc 1 ?
He's 14.
so yes ? or no ?
well yea but I could uh probably start off with topics in baby maths then move on
I can try my best without getting bored even for advanced maths tho
@mystic storm have you learned calc 1 if not id recommend that calc 1 is always a fun place to start if you have decent algebra
no I haven't, and I have a very bad algebra
I have nothing than my thinking
How bad of algebra are we speaking of here ?
like took the classes but werent paying attention. Or you just forget rules here and there
bad enough to not understand ax - bx = 1
cy - dy = 2
immediately and have to learn the rule first
didn't really take the classes at all
You've had highly competent people tell you what to do (and I mean PhD, lecturers like Al and pear) and yet you dont want to listen. I don't think you understand the gap between you. Humble yourself. Listen to what they say. You are very lucky these people are there, and whatever you say, they are right.
in 8th grade they thought some polynomials but that's not really that high
yes but
wait what country and grade are you in ?
yeah no bro. like absolutely the fuck not.
India, and I reached 9th grade this March.
you're gonna die trying.
at the very least use your skills and passion to prep for jee, maybe you get high marks there
yea but instead of learning the books if I study the individual concepts in those books I might be able to get further
I definitely am gonna fail a competitive exam like that
I'm not exceptionally intelligent
I really only have how deep can I think on topics I like.
other than that I'm nothing
bro passion
While stuyding individual concepts isnt a bad idea. You would only do that if are very advanced and looking for theorems to see if what you previsouly thought was right
not something you would do
you need to focus on the whole book as you need the whole book
How can you expect to learn if you don’t want to read ? There is no way to learn without reading
i mean you can learn through only practice problems and a teacher teaching you so no reading would be required but that just seems like a terrible way to learn
I can read
but only on my own
a book seems like someone instructing me what to do
doing problems without going through the material seems very inefficient, it’s like you are adding unnecessary difficulty
Yup I totally agree wouldnt really work unless its over a specific and small topic but it might work even if inefficent
are you sure it will help me?
and it's not just like any other course or YouTube channel.
It's fine
Even if your math sucks and your results suffer
And the courses you can take resultingly decreases
There's still ways to move forward
uhm can you people do this? " Name a topic each or a few at a time here and just mind your business go somewhere else if u wish. then I do my research on that and type it in here with explaining how or why and logics with the concept.
you aren't responsible for focusing on what I replied. but whenever you come here to dump your concepts per day or so, you can choose to reply on my replies to someone else and say if I'm correct or wrong or question something.
Like that no one will lose their valuable time in tutoring me. and I would still be able to do things in the way I asked "
Like this the end goal is to know high school maths by end of may 31st but it isn't limited to it, the bigger picture should contain it but It can be advanced too
and by what topics or concepts u name here, it isn't limited to high school. the bigger picture just should contain all of high school maths, but we could go overboard too
but please don't type a lot, just a few or one concept at a time
What’s your current level of maths
Do a mock exam of your current years math paper or something first
The great pyramids of Giza weren’t built from the top down
Khan Academy might not dive into every little detail, but the videos are super quick and easy to understand, making it a quicker option to grasp concepts. If you're looking to get through entire topics efficiently, the Khan Academy videos are a great choice, especially because you can skip around and still catch the main ideas without feeling lost.
Khan Academy is also very friendly in progression. If you already know a concept, you can just skip that lesson.
The app is also 100% free.
Another thing I would recommend is MIT OCW. There are many higher mathematics resources just for the taking.
I’m pretty sure you’ve already heard these things, but they help if you try them.
modular forms
elliptic curves
reason you should study this stuff: trust me bro
I am setting you up for one of the greatest math proofs in recent decades
shhhhh don't tell him. make him learn modular forms and elliptic curves
Ok
i think itsf also needs to be humbled bc hes being rude, uppity, and probably not purposefully spreading misinfo but
@mystic storm you need to give yourself like 3 months if you even eant a chance to do this. and youd be qorking like most of the day every day (breaks are absolutely important and you should take them)
but youre in 9th grade yousaid? ehy doyou need to learn high school math if youre about to?
I need to because if I fail learning it fast, I'd have to waste 4 years on it
also ty for your insight
thats a bad mindset. taking time at it helps you absorb an understand better. are younot required tocomplete high school?
like these people said, or insinuated, youre gonna burn yourself out doing it fast. youre notgoing to learn it in depth, and what would you do with those "extra 4 years" anyway?
its doable but... its pointless imo
I have developed an efficient way to dive into concepts
I'll tell it in brief but right now I'm explaining something
would u check it out?
start from the picture
25 days tolearn any large array of concept is insane. trying to cram 4 years into 25 days is not goingto go good
I'mnot at this level of math
16 almost 17, but imnot at a high level ofmath at all
I have probably a basic understanding of algebra and geometry, thats it
those Greek things are variables
and it isn't about math at all
It's an equation for the amount of happiness in the world
And i dont know them, i usually see those in higher level math than mine. im in the USA
typically any place outsideof the usa learns a lot more and higher level
like i said, ive only got a basic understandingof algebraand geometry, and i do not know those symbols
ah ic
i cannot help you eith it
16 almost 17
oh i saw youre from india, they usually have really advanced math dont they?
like youre 13, using symbols i dont even know the meaning of
i think youre more advanced than yo think and not giving yourself credit, or you know some harder concepts but ont have all the basics in qhich case you need those basics (not saying thats happening, im just guessing)
lol
nope
my new teacher in 9th grade or first year of high school just started teaching irrational numbers
we aren't that advanced as u think but we are competitive because there's a billion people and filtering is essential
and those symbols aren't really that advanced
they are greek letters
like variables, like normal alphabets x, y, z
u just assign a meaning to it and u can put it in your equation
besides
I'm not even that academically genius, I don't get that good marks
I'm just a deep thinker
ok
Maybe you're right, but pear and others have been trying to explain a lot of things to him, giving very good advice, and I find it annoying that he doesn't want to apply them
I'm sorry if I seemed rude, it wasn't meant
I don't think this is fair as ltsf has been very patient with this fella. You should've seen how techie dealt with this guy lol. Raging in under 2 hours
its not thaat deep, but his words insinuated things
ive read the entire thing
and imnot talking about techie, respectfully
Trololololololo
Ofc ofc but you should know that anyone who's serious about teaching this guy stuff is having a really hard time
.
its this guys'business atp, nothing qe saycan change hismind
Yea loll
so i think its best to let himbe
I'm interested in knowing what misinformation I have spread
You said that the earth is round instead of flat, when it is in fact locally flat (i.e. as a submanifold S^2\subseteq R^3)
particularly that higher level people always know better
which is absolutely not true sometimes
ive had many instances with my dad and helpers alike
I think he meant that in this scenario, every single helper has been telling usap to go and actually learn math, and every single helper has been correct in this case
He's not saying that the helpers are always correct, just that they've always been correct when talking to usap
i get the sentiment, but thats not what he said and i just wanted to clarify
the intent doesnt matter much if you still said different than you meant if that makes sense
its not worth an argument over
im just pointing out maybe be more careful in word choice
"whatever you (referring to usap) said, they are right" this statement appears true to me
Well, I think civil arguments are always worth my while
As long as if we're both civil ofc
yes, theyre sometimes good but im busy and i dont like arguing at all, especially not over a silly discord conversation
And yes, I am a locally flat earther.
