Consent is everything! Consent doesn't only apply to sexual contact. Any physical touch, like hugs, must be consented to first. I think it is easy to forget because if you have a bond and have touched before, whether it's a hug or kiss or whatever, people automatically think it'll be okay next time because it happened before. But to be in a healthy relationship with someone who has expressed discomfort with unexpected contact, consent must be established ALWAYS.

Yep. I'm ADHD, partner is ASD. We both absolutely have some "no touchy" times. It's absolutely not anything personal against the person when you're on overload. Asking to/for hug is v important. There's also times of wanting a hug but not feeling closed in? In which case it's more of a "I don't really want to be enclosed, but I could really use a hug/contact, can I hug you?"

Exploration is a strike against dark souls 3 yes, but the more linear nature gives it a huge strength in another way. Personally (after "only" like 5 or 6 playthroughs) I'd say to treat DS3 levels more like puzzles than anything. Of course the combat is very similar but less bombastic, making attacks feel more intentional and weighty in my opinion

The lore is good and I know you'll love it so I'm just working on gameplay elements lol

Hahahaha yeah I know the lore will be a great asset, I'm a huge lore nerd and already checked out Vaati's videos on DS3, amazing! I think the linear-ness of DS3's world is what makes it difficult for me, because I like the 'can't do this boss yet, let me go level' kind of freedom ER provides. Defo liked the combat and the attack patterns of the bosses. Feels more 'fair' and natural in my opinion

Plus the open world aspect of 'see mountain, go to mountain' lmao

Personally I find the boss thing to be little bit of a weakness for elden ring but I have peculiar tastes lol. The weakness for me basically boils down to running into bosses that are underpowered for the player at the time of meeting them. In DS3 I find the bosses are really well balanced so as long as you don't spread your upgrade materials too thin the only real obstacle is learning

Yeah that's what I heard a lot too. The delay in swings in ER bosses is a bit of a miss for me and some aspects are a bit unfair. But I never challenged myself with a game like this before so it feels lika huge victory lmao. But good tip on the learning! The attributes stress me out in DS3 😂

what are some of your favorite characters you've pulled?

A habit I made in DS3 is if a boss was giving me a really hard time I'd go fight it and do one of two things.

1. don't fight it. Just dodge and learn the moveset and combos. Dodge timing built into muscle memory. Or

2. don't heal. If I rely too much on healing I'll get punished, if I don't heal I don't get punished.

Also if I'm having too hard of a time I'll intentionally lose my souls so they don't distract me. I wouldn't necessarily reccomend for everyone but those were my "focus up, git gud" strats

Mine too!! Still one of my fave characters and main dps', defo one of the most stylish kits of any character. And now with dendro?! If you wanna go for another solid DPS, get Ayaka next patch. She shreds through enemies like crazy

Oh no idk if she's coming back soon! But she defo will at some point, in the next months maybe. Love her kit! And yeah Eula x Raiden I've used for a long time. They absolutely demolish together it's insane, so Eula is also a great recommendation.

The next one is actually kind of easy in my opinion, you'll want at least a +2 weapon though, +3 if you can get it. One of the coolest bosses in that game imo and that's saying a lot lol. Good early boss for sure

Yeaah Lothric! I thought Gundyr was fine, I am a Pyromancer which made it easier, but I was used to the ridiculous patterns of ER Bosses. I can imagine he'd be difficult as first FS boss. Knight was my first class in DS3 and I think it was a good move. Though I beat DS3 with a gross hybrid "I wand to do everything" character that didn't really have a real build. So I kind of accidentally nerfed myself the whole time lol.

Ah yeah big mistake lol, I always have a clear class/goal for my character in mind. Really helps with the preparation to know what you're working towards to.

Knight is a great starting class tho. Usually most recommended in DS3 right?

Yeah. I picked it cuz basic and well rounded stats. I learned to reccomend it cuz straight swords are the best weapon type and it has a 100% physical block shield

I think DS3 was my first game with build variety too, besides destiny and borderlands, which don't have you leveling health and stamina lol

I spent the last 10 years of my life forming LGBTQ+ communities in Final Fantasy XIV because we would be called all sorts of hate speech, slurs, demeaning statements, I was even told once while I was gathering pigments in XIV to "get AIDS and die you f*g" -- in the video game. So how powerful was it that we had a place to feel safe and call home? Over FOUR THOUSAND LGBTQ+ PEOPLE across the entire globe joined my XIV guild to get away from that hate.

I ran two video game publications and I had to hide in the closet back in the early 2000s because I would've been fired. In the video game industry. Writing reviews for video games. That's how important it is to feel safe.

Thank you for sticking up for us. Thank you for representing us. There's no reason to turn off "LGBT option" when the game isn't making the player be LGBT. The player is the one that decides who to date or not, if they forced you to date someone you don't like it'd upsetting (something that most games do to LGBT people)

The only thing I can say here is religion or politics doesn't even have to come into the discussion at all. Not every game is for every person. Dark souls doesn't have an easy mode and you're not going to play Gears of War in first person. There's the intended experience and then there's people being obstinate that the devs made the wrong game. If someone doesn't like LGBT representation, don't play games where it's there. In Stardew you can marry either gender in the game, but if you never thought to try it you'd never know you could. Stardew and games like it give you freedom to do what you want, Coral island gives us encouragement to do what we want. Not to mention, you'll find plenty of religious LGBT people so it's really not an excuse or a talking point.

So I hope for Mark to have the same. I want to know why he's in Coral Island. I want to know why does he help take care of the pet's department in the town hall. Gruff exterior miner is fine, but give me that depth of a well-rounded character that evolves his emotions.

Any time that you give me a story where there's an evolution of personality, feelings, and emotions, I am totally on board. The mystery is the best part, but having something to uncover and see a ton of layers underneath that is so rewarding.

For YEARS I struggled with my identity. I thought I was gay for many years because I knew I was into guys. I dated a few girls, including my now wife. My wife was the one I felt most comfortable with and genuinely loved. I then thought I was bi and came out as bi, much to my family's shock. Years went by and I lived a happy bi life before slowly leaning towards pan. Then my friend came out as GQ. I asked about it and upon hearing all about it was struck dumb because holy crap that was me. I felt trapped inside my own skin, unable to be myself with no explanation as to WHAT was wrong.

From there, I dived headfirst into socially transitioning and felt more like me than I ever had, but I've always doubted I'm "really" trans because I did wanna be a girl growing up. I'd get called a girl and get upset, but in secret, wear my mum or sister's heels to take the bins out because I liked the way it felt both on me and the noise it made. I've also had other doubts because I didn't start crying the moment I saw myself in the mirror as myself at long last like so many did. I just knew it felt good, that I really liked what I was seeing and wearing. As my breasts have grown in, I've felt better and better watching my body change shape. . though can my body stop storing fat in my stomach please and send it up to where it's actually needed, thanks?

This is just my experience, and my experience does not mean facts, so I can offer out the perspective from my side as someone who is worked in Diversity & Inclusion programs for the last 20 years.

In many countries around the world, including Eastern countries such as Japan, women working as CEOs are virtually non-existent. They just don't. There's an overarching issue of sexism that exists within cultures when we identify a woman by her gender rather than simply as her title. And when combined, nobody ever says "boyboss", so there's some sense of unfairness that comes to that language.

Being as that we are a global community here, it's worthwhile to consider that something cute and coy could also be something that demeans a woman for attempting to be "as good as" a man. And for most countries within Europe and North America, this is a non-issue. It's just cute nickname. But in many other places, it's a statement which connotates that a woman can't be identified as a boss without her gender being placed on it.

It's worth noting that my background is hugely involved in studying the culture and language of communities around the world, so it's taken me decades to amass any of the knowledge I've had while making many, many mistakes along the way.

When you're calling somebody else a himbo and claiming to reclaim that word, you're not reclaiming it for yourself, you're reclaiming it for someone else.

I have! I personally think it’s pretty good. I’ve used it both in a rural area and an urban area (moved recently for work) and been relatively “successful” in both. You have some in your name and also some from a role it looks like? For your name you can click on the server info and then edit server profile for your local server name. For the role pronouns just go to the role-assign channel and upvote a different emoji where you want.

I do feel safe online. Only place I don't is around my mom and my sister.. my dad passed away in June and with him I lost the only one who would have supported me

My mom said "if one of my kids were to tell me they are transgender I would morn the lose of my child and hold a funeral for them"...

My parents ultimately did accept me but they gave pretty much every indication to the contrary when I was little. Like when my mom said ‘if you really loved me you’d never do this ever again’ when she caught me ‘cross dressing’ as a kid.

Maybe yours will do the same. Maybe not. You won’t know for sure till you have that conversation and give it time.

Sadly I did off handedly ask her just before my dad passed away and she made it clear if I were really transgender I wouldn't be her child, I would be a completely different person she wouldn't know and her daughter would be dead in her mind..

My dad knew before it passed away and kept it from my mom because he knew she wouldn't accept it and feared she would kick me out of her house.. since I have been living with them since 2020

To add insult to injury I'm also a Little due to past trauma I went through as a kid so that's also something I hide because my mom doesn't understand why stuff like Stuffed Animals, Onsies and stuff like that help keep me calm 😦
