Macy has some weird stuff going on for cucumber, potato, and radish in the megasheet tho
all veggies should be neutral for her
cucumber row isn't correct for Dippa too
they're neutral iirc
ill try to confirm these discrepancies today/tonight for good measure if no one else does first,
with Macy it's a bit odd because her lines suggest she likes the gift but then it's a neutral. I guess she's being polite
yeah, ive learned to just check the profile after each gift before adding to the sheet, im assuming whoever contributed this info may not have checked, but 🤷♀️
i think, i would want this data by a magnitude more for accuracy, but since i also want this game to be fun for me, i'm going to move on after ~2k crops sampled
- unupgraded crops so far
- also not getting the double crop/faster crop thing
are there no fruit trees like apples in the game yet?
no. you can get some fruit send as gifts but that's it
Ratih sometimes sells a snake fruit plant, but from all I've heard it's not fully implemented and vanishes if you try to plant it.
i get osmium by fertilizer 1 and level 2 corps on iris..... sample 24 only haha kinda sad
1 iris already get process to honey.
9 osnium quality xD
oh yeah, sorry, i'm doing farming skill level 1-3/crops level 0. if you've got crops level 2, farming skill level [x] then numbers are different. the processed iris is base/bronze/silver..?
bronze silver gold and osmium is base on quality, u can upgrade the quality with fertilizer and upgrade it in laboratory
mastery level (skill) right now doesn't have any effect to quality
cmiiw
yeah, i'm just collecting data rn on the proportions of these in all situations/tracking as many variables as i can
if you are right, then the table just looks like this
yup
looks like i am getting that extra order of magnitude
don't ask me for margin of error stuff, i no longer remember how to do that
one more datapoint if you like: 2 batches of fairy roses 645 each = 1290 seeds planted, no fert, got 177 no star, 535 bronze, 652 silver = 1364 total, or 5.73% extra. Lab silver crop upgrade done long ago
farming level 10, if that matters / for the record
thanks!
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Sunny folks, i see here smething that is NOT in the megasheet cooking list, and i cant find ANY mentions of this dish.... thoughts?
Main Gallery Events Dialogue Relationships He runs the Beach Shack. Though he doesn’t fish often anymore, one can still see pictures of his monster fish catches at his house upstairs. the recipe is on the cooking page on the wiki, it should theoretically be implemented
no idea if anyone has tried it tho. it is in fact an item that exists in game files but idk if it's obtainable at the moment
hmm it uses an utensil that might not be available yet
thanks, was thinking maybe it's by mistake something else "mishroom", since i saw nowhere else this particular dish
yep, and for me it's his birthday, and no diamond. well, i hope he will love my lotus
PSA: someone sorted cooking list by price and messed up headers and overall sheet structure: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oqaF61JTUJTFFXzdmhYZYRFpaLjhpNtfbRlEajE-XYA/edit#gid=770923953 - noticed that while doing math for profitable cooking, happened maybe an hour ago from now or thereabouts

as a side note - noticed a bit of non-uniform naming there, like any egg / any eggS, mushroom / any mushroom etc. corrected whenever saw it, but in general it would be nice to agree on some rules, since mushroomS will NOT find mushroom while using search
super quick question - is the rarity list for insects anywhere?
I know the individual insect pages on the wiki include it, but I don't know that there's a full list written up somewhere.

you can add it to the full table if you'd like, it would be useful
I'd love to add crop type = veg/fruit/grain/etc but sheet is locked
I have nothing to do with the sheet so can't help you there
I'm the wiki admin. don't know who owns the sheet
ah I see, sad. I do excel / spreadsheets trainings since 2008, so i guess i know a thing or 2 about that, so could help....
Just dm’d you about this
hello guys
are we allowed to use pics on coral wiki for thumbnails and is there any way I can find the HD version of them? thank you so much
I think most of them are assets pulled from the game or promotional artwork, so I don't know that anyone'd have any grounds to stop you?
As for bigger/higher quality pics, maybe the game's kickstarter or twitter for, like, seasonal images and concept art? The assets/character portraits on the wiki as pulled exactly as they are in the game's files, as far as I know, so I don't think we can get higher quality for most of them.
I'm trying to tell how the NPC schedules in the files correspond to their in game schedules, would anyone be willing to stalk check on an NPC on any given day to track their movement?
you want me to stalk ben for you?
yeah give me any weekday + season and I'll give you his waypoints
I just want to know if they're accurate in game or if there are any other factors at play
sure let's do ben winter friday
here's what I got, they're not the easiest to tell apparently
10:00 leaves caravan to stand outside
12:00 starts walking to Sam's
17:00 leaves Sam to go to caravan
19:50 goes to sleep
he also has some "chilling" in his schedule this day (because of course he does) but idk when it comes into play
on it 🫡
also side note i found out the townies actually do have an animation for getting into bed
which is fun
yeah i'll see if i can get a screenshot
okay i think i just had an odd fluke day lmao. i wonder if changing my day speed from 50% to 100% at around 7 am caused an issue but
here's my log
9:00 caravan opens for the player to enter, ben is standing around
11:00 spawns outside of caravan, immediately walks southbound
12:00 walks by the Carpenter's and heads east into town
13:00 walks south down the stairs by the Museum and enters the Community Centre
13:20 ben stands in front of some tapestry in the Community Centre for a moment to admire it, then walks back to the middle of the room
13:40 he sits in one of the sofas in the middle of the room (this is the main entrance room in the Community Centre), he then gets up and starts walking towards the library area to the right
14:00 he starts reading a book in front of the bookcases
14:30 he leaves the bookcase area to go admire the tapestry again, then walks back to the middle of the room
15:00 sits on the sofa again as he was earlier, then gets up again to...
15:30 read a book in front of the bookcases
(at this point i think he is doing a loop of three animations for his "chilling" time; admiring tapestry, sitting on the sofa, and reading at the library)
16:00 arrives at tapestry admiration point again
16:20 arrives at sofa sitting point again
17:30 arrives at bookcase reading point again
18:10 tapestry
18:30 stands in the middle of the room this time, instead of sitting in the sofa. he does this for a long time
00:00 i get the "it's getting late" notification and ben is still just standing in the middle of the Community Centre
i think it was lightly snowing yeah
also it got to 01:00 and my farmer passed out and he was still just standing there
oh yeah he has a separate schedule for snowy / rainy fridays it looks like
let me check
that doesn't appear intentional 😬
hmm so he has two waypoints for this day:
11:00 leaves for the community center
18:20 leaves the community center to go to bed
maybe his last waypoint glitched, huh
and for chilling time it might just cycle his animations 🤔
seems so
i can try again with his monday waypoints since over the weekend he just stays in his caravan all day
yeah monday should be identical to friday unless it rains or snows
he should go shopping
gotcha. i'll report back later tonight 🫡
if it snows, he leaves for Sam's at 10:00 and then to community center at 15:00 to chill next to Theo
theo was indeed there
leaves for 19:15 to go home
thank you, I really appreciate it
it would be nice if I'd be able to figure at least some of those out to put on the wiki
Ben's Winter Monday schedule, sunny weather
6:00 ben is standing outside his caravan, drinking green tea
8:00 he starts to head south
8:30 walks past the Carpenter and heads east
8:50 walks south down the staircase by the Museum
9:00 crosses the town square area heading south-east
9:10 he enters Sam's and browses the imported wine on the left side of the store
15:10 finally heads out of Sam's, then walks just to the right of the bin outside of Sam's, and starts to do what looks like tai-chi exercises
19:50 heads westward and then northbound to get home, same path as earlier in the day
21:10 arrives home and presumably goes to bed (player can't enter the caravan past 20:00)
i tracked him this time at 50% time speed, i think it's easier to get an accurate read this way
thank you so much!
looks to be in line with his waypoints from the files, idk what that 17:00 is tho
not sure. he was just doing tai-chi then, there wasn't any change. just the same animation
oh it's transitional anyway so the time isn't used
okay that made some things clearer for me, thank you, I appreciate you taking the time to do it
my pleasure!
if those transitional times don't matter I think I can get the main waypoints for their schedules for the wiki
i think the transitional times might be to account for different game speeds, considering animations don't actually slow down by half at 50% speed
logically at 100% speed, the townies will spend less time doing each action, going through fewer animation cycles
he still seems to leave the action / location at the time points set in the files
it's only the time it takes him to get to the next location that's different
bc for Monday the times set for his main waypoints are
8:00 Sam's
15:10 chilling
19:50 go to bed
they seem to align with your data
he's tai-chilling
it sounds like these main waypoints are not when he accomplishes the action, but when he begins the path for the action
yep
like at 19:50 he didn't arrive at the caravan, he ended his chilling action to head to his caravan
i think that tracks with accommodation for game speed
I assume they should be fixed in time regardless of game speed
of course
idk what those transition action times mean then. but maybe it doesn't really matter 🙃
yeah maybe
could just be leftover code that hasn't been cleaned up yet
there might've been multiple drafts for the waypoints
yeah they might be leftovers or placeholders
as long as those main waypoints match I'm just going to ignore them
Hello, wiki people. The "cooking" part of the spreadsheet has been resorted to alphabetical; for a long while it was sorted by cooking tool. Which is correct? I don't want to touch it, of course.
@dapper imp caught the sleepy hippie btw
oh that's cute, I wonder if it's the same for all npcs
IMO utensil THEN alphabetical is the most useful, but i'm not the owner
logic: as you get new tool it's cool to check your new dishes
I agree. But the Wiki people ask that others not sort the spreadsheets [makes sense] and obviously someone did. I just want to make sure it's intentional because right now using it is... difficult.
i'd lock sorting and leave editing possible...
hey folks, how does Nina work? is she only in town for summers or does she move in permanently eventually in the current game version?
One streamer I was watching had Nina in spring year 2. I haven’t gotten far enough in my own save files to know if she sticks around tho.
as far as i can tell, she is not present in spring year 1, and first appears in summer year 1. i have seen her in every season since then, including spring year 2
so i think she is just not present for the first season and then moves in permanently
She seems to spend most of fall and winter of Y1 off-island but returns for a visit occasionally (often at festivals). Most of the time she's in the "grey void" area with other off-island characters.
i have it regularly in tavern in winter Y1. was surprised but no complains, she's among front runners in my "will bang" list, so why not give some extra yogurts? 🙂
does Antonio exist on the island at all outside Fridays and Satrurdays?
i was just looking for him today. i couldn't find him
wanted to fill out the gift preferences spreadsheet a bit and antonio's are super empty
nowhere to be found
he's probably in the void then. and only present on Fridays and Saturdays. and Thursdays in summer
since coffee exists it's no big deal, but yeah...
do any shops sell gems atm? Ben? black market / Ratih?
havent seen anything except geodes in black market related to gems...
any townies atm you can legit get 5+ hearts? i see those screenshots repeatedly, but no precise info anywhere
got this one at 4 full hearts with Kira, double checked, recipe in place, 4 hearts visible. thats in https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Friendship?so=search#Cooking_recipes section
As the player gets to know the residents of Coral Island, they can form a bond of friendship with them. The better the player gets to know the locals, the more stories and dialogues the player will discover. Friendship does not decay over time. The player's friendship with a character is represented with a heart gauge that gets filled over time ...
shouldn't be possible
thanks, I'll check the trigger later
oh yeah it's 4 hearts
has anyone ever gotten anything other than fire agate from those green gem nodes in the earth mine?
i have 10 hearts with ben. it's possible, but heart events stop at 5
did he send you a rose quartz ever? 👀
yes
nice to see it's implemented!
does he also give you better prices at his shop more often @untold dove?
ugh his prices also have this weird rounding to the next 5 going on
well i dont care about events at all, i care about cook recipes. anything specific to get past 5 ❤️ or just keep gifting normally?
i have a feeling i did, never kept close attention since pointless to me, but will keep an eye next mines bombing run, if anything - will report
i haven't been paying attention to his prices tbh but i can take note next time i'm on
they should also give lepidolite or granite in the earth mines
what color are the nodes in water mine?
keep gifting x2/week neutral/liked/loved items and talk to them every day
I've found the numbers so I think it's note necessary
different and give different gems. blue ones give diamonds, but other blue give moonstones. ones are spiked, other blues are roundish as earth green nodes. also saw yellow and pink / violet, give different gems
yep checked wiki and remembered i got Lepidolite as i saw it
I mean. I got these drops on the wiki, I just needed someone to verify them
I barely play the game myself 😅
interesting, thanks. I can get those drops but I can't really tell where exactly the nodes spawn
again, i never kept close attention on theose details, so consider this with a healthy dose of suspicion. as said above - i'll keep closer eye next times
In alpha the green nodes in the earth shaft dropped lepidolite and granite, but I haven’t seen them drop at all in EA, only fire agate
I got a lepidolite from a different colored node (don’t remember which, maybe purple?) In the water mine only.
yeah I haven't played much but don't remember getting anything other than fire agate. I guess I need to check these drops once more, maybe it's a different node now 🤔
or it might not be working as intended 🤷♀️
prices at ben's at 10 hearts - winter 27, year 2
dark red stylish glasses - 450
pufferfish farmer outfit - 900
art deco flooring - 90
stairway rug - 160
wood floor tile - 90
scrap fence - 90
iron gate - 90
ordinary scarecrow - 220
coconut de mer - 90
stamina fruit - 27,000
poppy seeds - 20
yeah you got a 10% discount on his prices
but you can get up to -25% actually, especially with higher relationship. another reason to befriend Ben (as if I need any)
Hey guys, can someone confirm if it really takes time to get a mail saying town rank has increased? Like I hit C but still not getting a mail, the meter shows it's pass C but still no mail about the progress. Tyia 🤗
the mail should arrive the next day. do you have rank C seeds for sale at Sam's?
Yes I do, just wondering why the mail hasn't arrived yet.. 😣
What am i supposed to do with an odd child (came at night)
you mean the "odd chill"? nothing, it's just a random event with a ghost coming to steal your stuff. https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Random_event
hey folks, so how do the float market and black market work? like Ben's store except with fixed prices?
I mean their stock and selection, is it one item per category they sell or several? and when do they refresh, daily or weekly?
weekly refresh, one stock of each item
I can tell the quantities easily
I'm more interested in the selection if that makes sense?
is it one item per category? several items of a given category every time? (like with Ben always having one accessory, one a clothing item, and one coconut)
also, float market has the following listed, are they truly available:
Seeds
ArtisanProduct
Crops
and black market
Artifacts
Fossils
Treasure (geodes or coffers apparently)
Kelp
Bar
are those really available in game? if so, is it one / several items per category every time or a random selection?
interestingly enough, float market also has a Recipes category assigned but no actual items in it
also 1 or 5 scrap listed as scavengeable, hmm
what's the schedule for each market again?
Black market is Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday starting at 8pm (20:00). Float market is Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings, I think 7:00-12:00.
Total number of items in the float market is variable, it seems to be always at least one seed and at least one artisan product, anywhere from 3-5 items total. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a crop for sale, or more than one seed.
I haven’t paid all that much attention to the specifics of the black market, but I believe there’s always been one artifact and one fossil. I’m not sure if it’s one geode AND one coffer each time, or each one has a chance to appear, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than one type of geode or more than one type of coffer for sale at once.
I rarely scroll to the stuff below that, because they’re massively overpriced, but when I have looked I’ve definitely seen kelp, metal bars (I want to say usually silver for both, but I’m not sure) and scrap.
black market - monday spring 1
royal bowl (artifact)
velociraptor spine (fossil)
water geode
ornate coffer
scrap
stamina fruit
silver kelp
bronze bar
thank you! it does seem like there's one random item per category
except maybe treasure because it seems to include both geodes and coffers 🤔
float market - thursday spring 4
peas juice
duck mayonnaise
sake
bok choy seeds
Adding my data point for Winter 8:
Terracotta soldier
Triceratops skull
Earth geode
Mysterious coffer
Scrap
Stamina fruit
Silver kelp
Bronze bar
okaaaay I think I figured it out
it uses the row name not the category
that was very helpful, thank you ben's funbucket and Wyverness for sharing!
now to figure out how better display it... but I think I'm going to trim that table I've made for Ben's store first
wow black market really has a multiplier of 5 for all prices
okay when exactly it becomes available? it seems like it should often after the museum expansion quest is completed, is that true?
not sure, didn't keep track
does the museum expansion seem legit tho?
hmm or is it open before that and it's just the condition to get that invitation in the mail
also, is it open all night or to 22-22:30?
ugh I don't get it, the files say there should be two fossils but isn't there only one? 🫠
hmmm okay no I get it
it would've only been two if they had at least two subgroups for fossils probably
I’m pretty sure the black market’s there from the very beginning, but I’m checking on a new game now.
yeah it might be! the condition I've found appears to apply to the invitation letter
also, if it's open from the very beginning, it shouldn't sell as much as it does later in the game. some artefacts appear to be unlocked by healing at least one coral, and geodes / bars by unlocking mines
I can't tell if the conditions are actually active tho
Got about 7 more in game hours to wait through before I can find out… wishing at the moment you could increase the speed past 100%😆
Yup, showed up on Spring 1. Items for sale are:
Prehistoric bowl
Triceratops skull
Water geode
Ornate coffer
Scrap
Stamina fruit
Silver kelp
Bronze bar
So basically the same types of stuff.
ohhh thank you! so the conditions aren't active yet
or they scrapped them
anyway, thank you for taking the time to check!!
Huh, interesting—the prices are much lower than they were on the save I checked earlier (which was in Winter Y1). I could actually buy both the geode and coffer (150 each) with my starting 300.
And the silver kelp’s only 250.
I wonder if the prices increase as you earn more in game?
The fossil’s only 490 and I know I paid a LOT more than that on my main save.
huh. interesting
the only thing related to prices I've found was that 500% "discount"
maybe it's wonky because it refreshes on sundays?
Ooh, and the stamina fruit is only 30,000.
the shop stock I mean
That could be. I’m pretty sure the fruit was 150K on the other save.
BRB, gonna go sleep for a week 😄
the fruit should be 30kx6. 180k
Okay, yeah, that sounds right.
It must be something like the week reset, because Spring 8 the prices are back up where they “should” be, and the only thing that changed was getting the Mark scene when my farmer finally left the house.
yeah it might've refreshed the prices properly on sunday
or on the day change between Sunday and Monday
Does it not sell unassessed fossils anymore?
No, just identified fossils, I'm guessing. No assessment needed.
the fossil nodes should still be available 🤔
Are the fossil nodes maybe in the same "slot" in the shop as the identified fossils? There are a lot more individual fossils than types of nodes so it could just be a numbers thing (much less likely to show up)
yeah they're probably rare, given how many items there are for this one market slot. that refreshes weekly
well................ that's new: https://www.reddit.com/r/coralisland/comments/yy22om/comment/ix79aah/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
there's some unimplemented fame points there, maybe some of them are friendship related 🤔 all fame points are disabled tho?
okay I can't find anything about it, hope they elaborate
even those unimplemented fame points aren't directly related to relationship with townies
they're for stuff like upgrading the town and town buildings or winning festivals
tho maybe there's a hidden modifier somewhere or something?
no idea
could anyone please test gift the regular spring coconut to Lily?
hmm or I'm just going to roll this edit back
I did - it's in her Like list.
Wiki atm list it as such too.
hey folks, any distinct idea in how / when artisan float market (the one near tavern in morning) is determined?
probably similarly to the black market
I can take a look later today
the float market doesn't sell any crops at all, right?
it appears like it should have at least one in stock every working day. maybe it's disabled or not working as intended
I wonder if it's because of how those groups are set 🤷♀️
because it seems like it should (or will be) selling the crops needed for those seasonal sesajen, including watermelons and such in winter
there's also a recipes category there but it's completely empty at the moment
no i mean WHEN the stock for current week is determined? night sunday >> monday, or night mon >>> tue, or first time you open it during the week
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Sam's_General_Store?so=search i dont think Y2 is correct - i got rank C summer Y1, and was happily able to plant loads of snowdrops 1st winter
Sam and Emily’s house serves as the general store of the town. The player can purchase various items such as cooking supplies, tortillas, bread, cookies, seeds, and farming supplies. The store has a cash register, fresh produce section, and bakery section where Eva works at. Sam sells several consumable items and cooking ingredients and seasonal...
Same here - snowdrops, cotton, and tea leaves all appear at Sam’s in winter Y1 as long as you’re at rank C
hi! do we have a page for books ?
There is a page on the wiki (under “Damaged books”) that currently has a list of books and their sections. I’m not sure what the source of the info is, though (data mining, player finds, alpha, etc.)
alright got it! thank you!!
fixing it rn. it looks like there's two tables for Sam's stock and one of them lists the snowdrops for year 2
ugh
hmm or not
here's what it has
"day": 1,
"season": "EC_Season::Winter",
"year": 2
},```
but yeah I'll change it to year 1 if it's in fact available in game
since what year it sells unlim tortillas?
five
sad 😦 beach shack starts to sell unlim fish startin spring Y2, and you know what i was thinking, but oh well. back to manual grilling....
also Kalinka, is there any data aka %%% chance for items in ratih morning artisan market?
I think it's three items from diff group each
with each individual item chosen randomly
so, say, one cheese, one alcohol, and one random juice
but what about particualr items? I'm sick sleeping into years, i got all artisans except white truffle oil. all others I already have many, even 10+ for some........
I don't see any weights there so it might be random in category
but let me check again
okay there's a value for weight (priority?) but it doesn't seem to be used, so I'd assume it's random with equal chance for each
thanks so much!.. it looks like bad luck on my part. however, based on mail gifts.... some items certainly have preference over others. I have like 30+ damn cookies, and like 3 keracha sauce after 5 years.......
I don't remember seeing weights for mail gifts but maybe it's weighted somewhere else
like friendship / heart amount based or weighted towards certain characters
also, cookies are sent by two folks so it doubles their chance in itself
well, townies are all pretty much maxed out to current 5 cap, but.... some of them are much more persistent 🙂 or at least it seems so
hmm the gift chance is base so it might be multiplied by heart points somewhere. I can't tell
okay, thank you. no big deal anyways. just hope to get apple and durian fruits otherwise unobtainable atm
well, on year 7 i finally managed to squeeze from ratih and those damn townies all possible gifts, at least those you cant cook on your own or get otherwise 🙂 now i guess it's a good time for some crazy experiments
maybe anyone has crops qty after harvest for fert mk2 - likely will be some GH stuff? I wanna make some profit calc spreadsheet and need those ratios - or maybe Kalinka you can hack them from ingame data? I'm interested in the following: silver lab seeds upgrade, farming level 10, MK2 fertilizer - and what you get in terms of crop quality and qty
i bet for now = while we have only year 1 content - they put an exception / bypass to that table, since it's.... a bt weird to force players to spend the whole "empty" year 2 only to get snowdrops. just my speculation
also, repeatedly got from meteors MORE than 20 ores with double ore perk, 26, 24, 29 are actual numbers. baseline is 20 100%, but i guess worth mentioning on wiki or smth. Someone would love to reload for osmium, I bet
the quality formula seems pretty complex so idk how to tell how it's determined or how those lab seeds or fertilizer affects it, it's not a percentage but a value they use to calculate it iirc
so there's no more or less precise way to "predict" how many crops of each quality i'm going to get from the field of XXX crops?
there might be, I just don't know how to get them 🤷♀️
Found Orchid Mantis during day north of Coral Inn, not sure who updates the wiki stuff
this location for orchid mantis is already listed on the wiki though, it's garden lane
Sorry thought Garden Lane on the map was only the part around the vineyard. So which parts of the map is encompassed by "Garden Lane"?
yeah it's mislabeled on in game map unfortunately; the vineyard, carpenter, and observatory are hillside, and the garden lane is that area north of coral inn and east of the farm where Millie's house is and where Raj comes to read
Okay! Is there a master map where all the fishing spots are too? I've found those can get confusing
Thank you @dapper imp !
the fishing spots are tricky because we can't map them to in game map easily+ some appear to be unimplemented but mentioned in fish table. there should be a list of locations on fish page tho
For whatever reason I have MegaSheet on "view only", so here's some info for whoever is able to edit:
- Lady beetle, gold, sell price - 68
- Blue Morpho Butterfly, regular, sell price - 625
- Wataru LIKES Daisy (correct on wiki, incorrect on Mega - shows C)
also got regular Wolf spider, but didn't sell yet (need for donating), will sell next play session since I only have one so would have to fiddle with saves
||P.S. reloading game to get Morfo and Wolf is time consuming... 🤦♀️||
so is "Lake" just the goddess lake?
yes. for bug and forageable spawns it's also the grassy area around it
never sell bugs as is, grill them and sell as jerky that costs 235 coins. ANY bug will do, even flies that cost 10 coins. Very few rares are more expensive than 235
I know 😆 And I do normally.
Those few that I don't were just done for the community (wiki contributions)
i usually do this and then restore the save file - just to see the number, but not waste
I'm not concerned that much about 100-200 🪸
Selling one bug here and there (or fish) wouldn't break it for me. After all, this is one of those games where you can just trash everything and start "anew" on your existing save if you are so inclined - and didn't get any penalty except slowing your progress a bit. And considering the game just stops progressing now quite soon in current state...
Besides, I'm not a min-maxxer
But I really don't like moving my files around and restarting the game if I don't have to.
I know how - I just don't want to if I can avoid it.
btw... Did just that - sold spider, restored, reloaded - and got a second Wolf by sheer accident that same day (first after reload) getting out of the spa. 😂
So to editors now (I still can't edit myself):
- Wolf spider, regular, sell price - 230
Oh? Yummmmm good to know 🙂 is this in tips somewhere?
Also does Sashimi work?
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Cooking all dishes + my list of best cookings for profit ranked. enjoy

Thank you! How do you get Tempeh though? (I hope it's OK for me to be asking these things on the wiki editors channel)
some ingredients / things are currently not available, use wiki search to check. 99% if wiki page for any item does NOT exist or it's a stub - it's not yet in the game. perks of EA
So we just found a Ghost Mantis in the Summer, Rain/Night north of the Inn (Garden Lane)
Apologies if I’m wrong. Isn’t tempeh also tofu in-game? The icons look the same and none of the cooking recipes require tofu
it's okay but they are not same. There is no info how to get tempeh in game latest update not that I'm aware of.
Has anyone managed to get the cheese press item that's a reward from the third altar? I remember a character (Anne, maybe?) mentioning that you need a press to make tempeh, so maybe putting either tofu or soybeans in that?
they're listed at different prices when they're actually cost
I don't think it's possible to make tempeh in artisan machines rn
winter sesajen finally got changed in the beta
Kalinka, please confirm wiki IS and WILL correspond to current STABLE branch?
I'll probably make a notice template for beta content
don't know if I'm going to add any right now, but maybe in the future
I mean common sense and best practice suggests that wiki corresponds to stable, since beta is beta, it may change faster than weather in arctic
Weather in the Arctic is pretty stable - cold. 😜
Believe me, I lived in Siberia.
But yes, betas are meant to be fast changing. And besides - if I got it right stable build update should come out in the first half of December?
second or third week.
I'm not against having beta content on the wiki if it's clearly marked as such
in that case I also have no objections
Speaking of the beta, it looks like there will be some like/dislike updates — Scott now dislikes earth geodes instead of loving them.
And it looks like the "ocean critters" sesajen on the second altar has been (will be) dropped, since none of the creatures I've found so far that are in it on the stable release have the "offering" note on their descriptions. However, the bronze and silver kelp do have that note, so that may have replaced it. Winter sesajen has been updated to include only items available in winter (3 foraged items and 2 winter crops)
interesting
oh they also seem to have broken the cheese press table entirely
okay ocean critters are still there but they've changed the lineup
hermit crab is still there but the rest of the critters are not implemented yet
at least not in the stable release, I haven't looked at their spawns in the beta
for gifts it seems like it's mostly a bunch of lines for those underdeveloped characters
hmm Scott's show no changes though?
he should still love those geodes
oh wait maybe they made group preferences override individual ones? but that'd be weird
did anyone else have weird / out of character gift preference changes?
I’m only mid Spring on the beta so I’m not sure. But thinking back I think what I gave Scott might have been a “geode” (from black market) rather than an “earth geode” — same icon but technically different items. If I get another I’ll check again — I reset the day and then cracked it at the blacksmith.
okay I've looked it at more closely and the vast majority of the changes in the table are added lines or portraits
the preferences themselves should largely be unchanged
oh yeah that might be the case actually, they use the same icons and it's confusing.
the basic black market geode is the only one he dislikes
It dropped quartz which I don’t think is an earth geode drop unless that is a beta change.
maybe because there's "Earth geode" and just "Geode" that look the same, but give different set of items?
Yeah, I realize—now. Was just very confused when I gave Scott a birthday gift and he got upset with me 😂
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Little_wood_satyr_butterfly got one at 8:20 AM near blacksmith, spring 7, windy weather. Wiki says time is DAY, but apparently 8:20 is morning. stable version 50742, for the record
Little wood satyr butterfly is a common insect that can be caught on Coral Island with a bug net during daytime in spring and summer. Little wood satyr butterfly can be sold, cooked into bug jerky to increase its sell price, gifted, or donated to the museum. Little wood satyr butterfly is not required for any temple offerings. There are no quest...
I remember someone a while ago saying here that insects only had day/night, not the smaller divisions like fish.
well i cant confirm or deny this since never paid very close attention, but in that case wiki needs even more rework
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Soybean?so=search looks like for soybean growth time is 8 days, not 7: screenshot shows growth stages are 7 days total, and i planted 8 seeds on spring 1, have speed growth upgrade, and on 8th 4 plants are ready for harvest, other 4 are NOT
Soybean is a grain crop that grows from soybean seeds after 7 days. Soybean seeds are unlocked by reaching Town rank E. Soybean can be planted in Spring, takes 7 days to grow and 4 days to produce subsequent harvests. Soybean can be processed into the following artisan goods: Soybean can be given as a gift to befriendable characters. Soybean is ...
the insects are divided into day (7-18) and night (18-01) so it's working as intended
you're playing the beta?
the soybean stages are different in the beta
stage 4 is two days now
lettuce has also changed
Might I suggest on the fish wiki page that the fish that are Unobtainable or are obtainable by other methods be put in their own sortable list?
you're free to do it if you'd like, I'm not against it
but tbh I don't want to rework the fish page now because the update's coming pretty soon and I'll have to update it anyway
stable, soyou say in beta soybean grows 7 days?
should be 8
yep, that's what i see, but wiki says 7
hmm maybe it was changed back in that hotfix
let me check the stable
hmm yeah stage 4 is 2 days in stable
oh well
and lettuce is still 4 days in stable
so my dude, to make it simple: what's the soybean growth time in stable atm?
8
buut in-game description might show 7
because the stage 5 is listed with 0 days but still takes a day 🙃
Thats fair.
the good news is I'm pretty sure the unobtainable fish are obtainable in beta, so they'll be obtainable when the update gets pushed into stable
Can it rain in the winter?
snowing
So.. can you get the frogfish in winter? Its weather condition is listed as raining.. but not snowing..
it'll be available on snowy days in beta
right now probably not
the location is also different in beta. ugh okay I'm not touching fish until that update is released
they've adjusted fish spawn rates noticeably and reduced bite delay. maybe it's time for me to try fishing, I didn't like it at all before
Fishing is definitely a lot less tedious now.
And I haven't tried it yet but bait is in the beta, too - you can buy it from Sunny or craft it from spider fur.
Question though - what exactly this bait does? What effect it has on fishing?
That's an excellent question, and I'm not sure. In alpha it seemed like it decreased the average wait time for a fish to bite, so now I'd assume it (further) decreases the time to wait for a fish and/or increased chance of better fish/less trash, but that's just a guess.
likely reduces the bite delay time
okay yeah the base bait reduces wait time by 30%
or not % but some other value
there's also new types of bait but I can't tell if it's implemented by this one table and rather not look it up in others rn 😅
I've only seen the base bait in the Beach Shack and only have the recipe for that one, as well, but I'm still in Spring so it could be something that unlocks later. Someone over in the spoilers channel mentioned there's now a better fishing rod than the improved one, which I also haven't seen (might unlock after buying the Improved).
there are a few fishing rod upgrades in the files, yes, have been there for a while actually. these upgraded rods don't give you new fish, they only make the process easier overall
I am OK with "makes the process easier" given how fast a few of the big fish snap the line on even the improved rod 😄
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Raj
Base on the recent dev posting, Raj needs an update to their entry:

it's beta content, isn't it?
Was doubtful until Dev confirmed, posting linked.
it's nice to have another nb character, feel free to edit it
I will maaaybe make a notice template for beta content later tonight but can't promise anything, I'm a bit overwhelmed
if it's a fair take, I just see it as EA version since nothing atm really contradicts Raj being a nb
yeah I don't think I've seen other characters refer to them with pronouns or with name. I'm just not a fan of having beta content not marked as such
anyway, it's nice to see those newer characters getting content. they also seem to have more lines than they do in the current stable build
is there any fish guide for beta? the wiki fish guide not make any sense with beta version now
yeah fishing got some big changes in the beta. I haven't looked at them at all though
maybe I'll make a beta notice template and update some individual fish pages at least, but idk, it's a lot of work and beta is still a niche thing, I'm sure the majority of players are in stable branch
i think beta is beta, players want explore - we wish them luck 🙂 wiki is always for stable, since pointless for beta that changes very often
the game's in EA and that's basically beta in itself, so again, I think it's fine having beta content on the wiki if it's clearly labeled
I'd add some of it but tbh I have neither time nor energy to do it now, I have a few other wikis to edit rn with slightly higher priority over beta branch content
yeah, i just mean that handling beta version in parallel is your extra effort my man, i would not mind (and many others) to have it marked, but.... 🙂
I wouldn't axe it if anyone adds it but I'm likely not getting to it before mid December myself
Since I think I'm the one who originally brought it up, I wanted to update that in the beta, where fossil nodes are now findable, it does not look like the fossil node icon is tied to which species the fossil node drops.
Nodes can also drop things other than fossils; I've gotten wild seeds, stone (one unit) and "Bone" (placeholder icon, description is "the bone of a monster")
they probably have drop tables somewhere now, they won't be difficult to get once the beta gets released
Kalinka, do you know if the same key works for the new .pak files? Or does it require a new one every time it gets updated
I didn't need to update the key for mine.
nice, thanks
So I don't know if this is still a work in progress and bound to change, but, I caught a Lionfish in the spring, but it's not listed as a spring fish in the wiki. (in the area just west of the farm Ocean - Forest I believe.)
I don't know if this is where I post this information for the wiki
Wiki has information for a stable build.
You are in beta, I guess?
Beta has a freekton of changes for fishing.
Huh. So I've caught a Pink Snapper and ah, um...Cobia? Fish? They aren't on the spreadsheet.
Okay, for reference, the above two fish were caught at the dock south of Charles' house, at 14:00.
I also just caught two zebra fish in a row, fishing at the waterfalls next to the Cavern entrance, also at 14:00.
And directly west of the farm, it's nothing but sea cucumbers.
Did you do it in beta or EA?
beta ofc, they aren't available in stable yet
does anyone know when is the update happening?
2nd/3rd week of december according to the devs' previous announcement
Put together a quick table for the beta build fish. Formatting needs cleaned up and I haven't checked if any sell prices have changed yet, but locations/times/seasons should be accurate? https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Fish/beta
Odd notes: Some locations like Mangrove and Forest Stream are no longer used, the rarity Super Rare is no longer used, and a lot of the fish that can be found in the mines can be caught there regardless of their surface conditions - exceptions being the two arowana that are only found in the mines.
Overall, most fish reduced to only a few catchable locations - no massive lists like shrimp had - and catchable for at least half of the day.
Thank you for this. 🙂 Was only 2 fish that i had not been able to find, now i know atleast know where they are. 🙂 Unfortunally i am not able to catch them. Giant Stingray is just impossible to reel in, and the watermines are bugged today, so not able to fish there. So the Red King Arrowana has to be for another day. 🙂 Have you managed to find data on the sea monsters from diving?
Yep! I have them pulled up and I'll start working on their branch table next.
looks great! fish like salmon or zebra need season added for both location lines imo
Spring: spring location
Fall: fall location
Makes sense! No problem.
Have any more critters been added than what's in the journal? Because if not, it doesn't look like much of anything has changed with them. I made a table up anyway just in case, but right now I mostly just made the formatting match the Fish and Insects tables. :'D https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Critters/beta
Like... Are Pom pom Crabs obtainable? There's data for them, but they aren't in the in-game journal.
you need to check the spawns table, they've been in the loot table for some time actually
the critters for offering did change but idk if they actually made it into spawn / loot tables
Thank you. 🙂 I see a few of the names are different then in beta. There are 13 in total, but names on the 4that differ is: Cannonball Jellyfish, Sexy Shrimp, Sunflower Starfish, Pom Pom Crab. The names are pulled from the offerings showing on the altar for Ocean Critters. I will try to catch one of the new ones to see if data is still the same.
Ahh, alright. Those four should be entirely new critters from what's available in stable.
Sexy Shrimp and Sunflower Starfish have very empty tables, so I'm assuming they're completely unavailable. But Cannonball Jellyfish and Pom pom crab should look like this:
If they're working.
And I don't know exactly how the diving areas are broken up and named, but that's how they're listed.
Yes i can see them in the altar offering, The 3 others have that unfinshed image Whelk used to have.
But had no luck spotting anything but starfish bellow 20m mark in Beta. Was rarely any when diving on regular at 20m+ but seems even more rare in Beta - or maybe i am just more desperate to find them 🙂
btw the image you posted are not in included in your early list you posted.
and your new image also gives out new information on named locations 🙂
I made them invisible for the time being, until I can be sure they're possible to catch. (I don't know where the spawn tables for specific locations are. :'D)
And I guess I can add the location names to the rest, unless anyone objects to that? It probably couldn't hurt to work out what's where.
Would love if you could show them so we know what we might look for, wouldnt it be possible to just mark them (Not confirmed) ? You are allready showing 2 that atleast i have not seen in Beta 🙂
the mapping / grid zones for those locations are unclear
currently all sea critters have those locations assigned, it's just not obvious how they're mapped to the ocean floor
they likely aren't catchable
or not spawn properly
so just ignore them for now
Might be since i have not allready found them. But i will test it out a few more hours and see. 🙂
Can not cheat the alter offerings in beta, so If i want to get past this offering i need to find them. 😂
can you in stable? interested in 2nd altar
Yes you can on stable by logging and bringing a differnt quality of the same items the next day. If it does not work try the next day.
they have no model or no obtainable item assigned so I doubt they actually exist in game in their current state
sometimes it even work to bring the same item waaaay later - maybe another season or next year. didnt check it that well since i managed to get past many easy.
whelk dont have no model image in stable, so who knows? 🙂
yep i know that trick, but tried several times and it did not work... for 2nd altar, but for the 1st one (that unlocks GH) seemed to be working. Any other conditions / details except trying the next day?
I know one time i did not get it to work in winter time, but when i got to next winter it suddenly worked. So think its multiple ways to surpass the same item thingy.
what items is required for the second altar that your trying to surpase? maybe i remeber if i did something special if i know the items.
these, the rest we have
I am on third altar on stable, so i know i surpassed several i did not have on second altar.
I did have pink snapper, but never notised how i got it - so guessing in mail or in trashcan. The others you are showing i missed to but i managed to add different quality with the others. Not all on first try but later on.
On third altar its impossible to complete the thing because of the food that dont have differnt quality, so havent bothered trying so hard to get all the others filled up.
aaaaaaaaa offcourse you can see that from the data. 🙂 Then guessing i am screwed getting past second altar on beta. 🙂
i got red snapper via mail, not pink one. anyways, thanks. keep trying is the way to go then 🙂
Ups nm me.... i had red snapper NOT pink... my bad
Jim sends red snappers iirc, I got one from him very early in the first spring
but yeah it's fixed in beta
the ocean critters is incompletable in beta though, yes
Not only fixed on beta - they have changed several of the items required
I haven't looked at it closely tbh, checked the winter sesajen and ocean critters only because someone asked
I haven't gotten to play beta properly yet
I rushed true it, so i am almost as i am on stable - just miss getting past altar 2 to open up the last area i got on stable. Or i got more fish cought on beta so still rank B but the altar blocking me from getting higher rank
I don't think we're supposed to get to rank B even
hehe well i got it on stable and on beta 🙂
there's no content for that rank yet
i know. just an area that opens up - nothing to do there
Or atleast not on stable, but might be on beta...
yeah I'm not saying it's impossible, I just think the majority of the players aren't supposed to get there and would not
i know. I am an achivement junky so i have used aaaalot of time fishing and trapping any bugs and scavenging the boat merchantes
anyway, I don't expect the town rank as a feature to be completed before the full release
I dont care about the rank so much, but i would love to fill up all the achivment thingys 🙂
ha, I'm also very achievement oriented as a player! (maybe except speedruns, I don't like those) but not a min maxer and not in a EA game 😅
the achievements I've seen are mostly completion related iirc. or money / shipping/ friendship
By achcievement i ment - finding all possible fish, bugs, artifacts, fossils and so on 🙂
Yes
The first paragraph finishes with "Pets will be available to adopt in Winter Content update in 2023." Though
yeah it's one of those bits of info added by the dev team back in ks era
I just caught a Parrotfish. Ocean, Winter, Daytime, 1:30pm, on the 4th cast length. Used bait the first time, but did not use bait the second time.
after the update?
Yes, after the update
welp, time to migrate those beta tables into mainspace
expect to see a lot of fish changes
Yeah. I looked on the megasheet to see if parrotfish was there and didn't see it, so I expect a lot of changes.
can i ask somethink about wiki
what is the diff between fruit plants and fruit tree? cause the description is different
Fruit plants only live for two seasons and then die (like bananas can be planted in spring or summer but wither when you get to fall). Fruit trees, which aren’t in the game yet, will never die but will only produce fruit in their specific season.
I got a strange item when i reached 300 items turned into the museum. Anyone heard about it before and know what it is? When i click on the watertower after i have attached the item to it, it opens my inventory so its clearly something that should be attached after this to but no idea what. Tryed scarecrow and another watertower but they are greyed out.
Still looking?
yep noticed quite a lot new ones
okay do fruit plants come back from their withered state when their season comes again or not?
hmm okay they should not, they're like crops in that regard. disappointing
No they are dead and gone. 🙂
Guessing they may only be found in trash cans for the moment, until more diving content get updated.
man. that makes them not worth it at all
the update is disappointing overall 🫤
In greenhouse they survive
according to wiki its not possible to complete second altar? pompom crab having no source
yeah most of those new critters shouldn't be obtainable
at least they weren't in beta
okay yeah some of them shouldn't be obtainable
Have looked for several hours today, so pretty sure none of the new diving critters is in game yet.
All but Red King Arowana fishes should be in game. It might be in game to, but cant fish in watermine so cant check.
Thanks for checking data, so i dont have to use hours on trashcans. 🙂
is it possible to catch them "skill-wise"? I'm sure i got the winter legend one on the hook but no matter what I did i wasnt able to progress
Giant Stingray are not catcable without cheating. Otherwise all are managable. Many are easyer then they used to be because of new fishing rod for sale in beach shack.
oh new rod? thanks for the hint. havent implemented my shops yet
🙂 there is now Quality - Fishing Rod and Bug Catching thingy
They are 12,000 corals each
trash can drops only got two minor changes it looks like
whats new in trash cans?
very minor. so unobtainable critters are, yes, unobtainable
grass replaced by fiber, trash can now be 1 to 5 pieces instead of flat 1
that was miner changes yes. 😂
Is it possible to see what recipes are possible to create in current gameversion?
there's also a new additional trash can near the observatory?
yeah I'll maybe take a look at it later
New portal to by hot spring
Oh it opened up after completing alters?
it should
kk
idk how it is in game, I'm not going to play it until the next update likely
now idea how i opened it, but i notised it first in beta - and after update i got the portal in stabel build to.
crafting recipes or cooking ones?
cooking.
it should open with completed first altar + 4 offerings on the second
need the juice thingy for alter offerings. earlyer it was not possible to make
uuuhh? they nerved scarecrows?
yep. I think Ben should sell a better scarecrow
"Fruit Juice" is the name of the item. But unlike the orange and green juices in look. its redish with a blue tone.
they nerfed a lot of stuff
yeah currently veeeery unsatisfied with this update
yeah massive nerfs for a supposedly casual single player game. oh well, it's still EA so I hope they fix that eventually
nope can't cook this one
Guessing they are nerfing to prevent people to rush true to fast, so they will nag for updates. 😂
Bah! well well i cant complete rest of the alter offerings to get to alter 4 anyway, so guess i just need to be patient for next update.
that massively and negatively affects casual players though 🤷♀️ oh well, I already said it in feedback during the beta stage
Thanks for checking ❤️
Found sea cucumbers! So most fish are in the game now?
Also is the megasheet still being updated?
Fall windy mornings west of farm
Also fished up a crab
Where did you catch it?
Fall windy morning west of farm
Below the bridge, and stairs?
Right as you go down the stairs on the west end of your farm, the body of water south of there
Nice! Thank you, so much!
Found parrotfish and barracuda too
Off the dock, fall windy morning
I'm using improved poles
Yeah, I'm in winter right now, and have found several parrotfish off the dock.
Is this the channel to report these things? I haven't seen them in the wiki
/ megasheet
Maybe? I'm not overly involved in the wiki/megasheets
How do you know that they're all available? Also are some only catchable with the quality rod?
Sockeye salmon in town river
And salmon damn
Red snapper night fall lake
I think with this update all fish should at least theoretically be catchable (no idea if there are still any that snap the line even with the best fishing rod).
I looked into the list and was able to find all fish I had access to - didnt manage to find the winter legendary but I didnt had the quality rod when i tried
Apologize if this is the wrong spot, just caught Asian Sheepshead at the small fishing spot just outside of the left farm exit. The little spot just to the southwest once you exit from there. Winter 8, sunny, 9am
I have fished them up, so i know they are there. 1 is not even fishable with quality rod without cheating. Quality rod make a huuuuuge difference on the hard to reel in legendary fishes.
This is a wonderful source to find all the new fishes. 🙂 https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Fish/beta
thanks, although seeing all the mess new update brought - i'll keep playing older build for now. Either devs fix that crap promptly, or i switch to other game. Heck, maybe stardew run during xmas vacation - to enjoy smth well balanced and thought of
ffffff I just checked the prices in the new update and wine got hit down to 785 for GQ???
what quality?
I think GQ stood for gold quality (?)
yep. developers clearly have zero idea the heck they doing...... well, i still have hope: the day BEFORE update (THU i guess) i provided Bene with 5 pages long detailed feedback about economy balancing in DM, and he said he will pass it to designer team and devs. so MAYBE this game will overcome that downward spiral of BS that started since beta
my guess is that as information gets more widespread (like wiki), people are more optimized, so they clear stuff faster, which leads to devs nerfing because they think it's too fast
i just said in feedback that that's a losing cycle because then you just get MORE people trying to optimize due to sunk costs, and you don't get a good feel for the game overall
Yes its a loosing battle, and not really usefull for a singelplayer game that does not have to be perfectly balanced so some players not get advantages above others like in multiplayer games.
got the giant stingray without cheatin'
how? / where do you find it?
Congratz! ❤️ Guessing you got it after the update with the new fishing rod? Have to admit I have not tried very hard to fish Giant Stingray after the new fishing rod was implanted.
Some of these say Cavern (Water mine) but it won't let me fish there? Also is Air mine even open yet?
Same problem here, have bug reported about the water mine. No Air mine is not opened yet, but you can use the other options to catch most fishes that are catchable in the caves.
I don't know where to start now, so many fishies
What's the best money making way now that artisans are needed do you know?
Nerfed
🙂 You will get there. Its waaaaay easyer to discover new fishes now, so you catch up soon.
Sorry no idea on whats best money making now, since i use wemod i dont have to think about money.
What's wemod?
Its a game cheating app. You can compare it to the Workshop on Steam.
Kk 🙂 where did you find red king arowana? The wiki only says cavern in water mine
That is the only fish that I am still missing, since water mine is unfishable atm atleast for me. 🙂
Kk thank you!
Just a wiki correction: wiki says Nina loves yogurt, but she only "liked" it when I gifted it to her just now.
did you gift her large yogurt?
do we know if the prices are still correct for crops on the spreadsheet?
depends (I guess) - if it wasn't changed already.
some (forage mostly, gems, artifacts) still the same
crops, fish, artisan - changed (in-game)
I just didn't know if there was a way to tell. Last time the artisan prices changed we put the new stuff in bold
I meant - in the game 🤦♀️
Sorry.
On the spreadsheets I still see old prices (before current update)
I have some new ones in my personal data pages but I have Mega on view-only
btw, okra is regrowing now - 3 or 4 days
Megasheet has not been updated with the recent update.
for wiki, should we start transferring the beta sandbox info over now, or is there like a faster way for people with the know-how to do it
you can just copy and replace the entire tables
just use the source editor in case visual breaks something up
Gotcha
I think I did. I didn't realize size made a difference.
yeah, unfortunately right now these gift preferences for things like mayo or yogurt doesn't apply to large versions of these products
(since they're completely separate items in game and the preferences are item specific)
I'm hoping they fix it in the future
Been trying to find the giant snake head for days in the fall, where have people been able to find it?
Same thing with freshwater eels...
I've got giant snakehead in summer, late evening, river next to mines.
I have caught them both, so both are in current game version. The betafish table on fandom has the info on when/where to find them.
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Fish/beta
here - slowly transferring it to the main wiki
Yay!
I have access to MegaSheet again! (I mean - not view-only)
Added a bunch of comments with new crop pricing - hope it's ok?
Yes, all verified in-game at the time of posting.
Also - what about Artisan?
Those that are there right now are old ones...
Please update if you have info from v0.2
And transfer to wiki if you are able
wiki can't do (don't know how and never even thought getting access).
Mega - will do what I can.
Question though - should I do comments as with crops or some other way?
the wiki uses a template for artisan on item pages but plain text on machine pages, it's fairly easy to edit
I've been too sick to do any wiki work lately 🥲 will likely update when I get better
You can edit directly and highlight the cell to identify its new per v0.2. I’m super busy with work this week so updating based on comments will be delayed.
Crops are limited to comments-only, and anyway I'm not going again through about 40+ that I did 😆
As for Artisan - they are already highlighted in green. Should I change color or maybe just go for Bold?
Highlight in a different color. I think the red/green was just to see empty cells better.
ok, gotcha.
I'll add a comment to header too, I guess - so people would see and don't get too confused.
btw, I'm not doing data-mining, so whatever I'm posting is what I encounter while playing.
Just saying. 🤷♀️
Um... ok, slight problem - can't change color on Artisan.
It's conditional formatting, so it's either Red or Green.
I'm not so knowledgeable to make changes to that or additional rules - I might just break something.
I guess I will go for Bold + different font color.
Now to find something that is different enough to be seen (and not Red)...
i'll go peek at the megasheet later and adjust if nobody has? busy rn but i think i still have access to the crops page
adjusted some but the heavy usage made me lag out lol
hi! do we have fossils page?
I don't believe we do?
I don't know if it's off-topic right now, but I find hard-wood in the ocean as drops after the 20 sites are opened and I get to go deeper. Not all the time, but fairly often.
it's listed as an uncommon drop from wood debris already. they might've changed the drop chances though
In the wiki some of the fish have a numbers under their season. Am I correct in assuming that means you can only catch them on those days? For example: the Yellow Moray Eel can only be caught on Summer days 15-28?
yes, those are days of a season
I've been trying to catch Yellowfin Tuna at 3rd day of winter (precise weather and location) since 12:00 to 19:00 but i didn't manage to catch it so I'm guessing it is actually between Winter 8-21th or 15-28 perharps?
I'm not certain the wiki has accurate information for all fish for the current build tbh
it's a lot to update and only a few folks actively working on it
yellowfin should be any day of the season actually
only legendaries have date ranges iirc
okay it may unfortunate for me that i didn't catch one
yeah maybe, it is a rare fish
It's a rare fish and only available during fairly rare weather at that so you were probably unlucky? I have had similar issues with koi some days in spring/summer
nvm yeah i was just unlucky
Oooo congrats! 🎉
I fished out hammerhead at 19:00 6th of winter.
About waypoints
On wiki one for Diving Pier says requirement is 3 orbs.
For me it activated after just one.
Was it changed, or did I broke the game (again)?
It may have been reduced to just one, if I'm reading it correctly?
I guess more testing is needed or something?
Not gonna do it now though, but probably keep in mind for future new saves (unless confirmed one way or another)
You guys are still using info from the google sheets? I've been off for a month so haven't updated but it looks like not much has been added (Specifically the likes vs. dislikes tab) I can keep working on it if you need
Hey guys, are there descriptions on which areas are meant under "Ocean Critters"? e.g. where is the "Farm area" or the "Jellyfish area"?
Not at the moment. They could probably be tested for, but I haven't had time to play lately.
Looks like fish prices were changed with this version - at least 5 fishes I see in-game sells for different amounts than wiki and MegaSheet (those that I've checked).
I've been doing some minor wiki editing without thinking to ask - just found this channel. I hope I haven't done a no-no.
Do people know how long it takes to unlock the panda area after this patch? My partner is at 1351 points and last we checked megasheet says panda opens at around 1349. Has anyone managed to do that recently?
it's based on altar completion not rank points iirc
OK; and we can't finish 2nd Altar anymore right? because the quality exploit isn't there anymore?
the fish is now completable (very grindy, but all of it is in the game) but the ocean critters aren't so you wouldn't be able to complete the full altar, yes.
I don't remember if the panda area requires the full altar or ten offerings though
Do the library books have content created but not loaded in, or are they still creating content? If the second part, I'd love to help.
Are the library books readable after the hotfix? The books were readable in the beta but the ones I've found since the actual update don't have content.
hiya, may I know what season wasthis? thank you! I haven't got pink snapper and cobia, I'm currently summer 7
I have the panda area and am missing the new ocean critters, but have all the rest
Pink snapper should be Spring and Winter, and cobia Spring, Summer and Fall. Both off the docks where the tavern and Zarah's boat are, cobia also at the bit of river south of the farm that goes around a sickly tree. Morning - afternoon for cobia, afternoon - evening for pink snapper.
thank you so much!
NP!
question: is the mega spreadsheet up to date from the last game update?
I know there were people working on it, but I don't know how up-to-date it is overall. Sorry. :<
wanted to pop in bc I'm available quite often to lend assistance to updating stuff - if there's anyone 'in charge' / taking lead to give me directions if there's any to follow
I doubt people will be updating until the current beta test update goes completely live
@dapper imp Hey there! Can I drop you a DM regarding some formatting stuff?
on the wiki? sure, go ahead
the kind soul editing the wiki for beta - do you have details for some of the higher quality crops/produce? i took some notes and it seems either the + sell price perk is somewhat bugged or the higher quality tiers might be getting their prices lowered, but I'm not sure
I can pull 'em up. Any in particular you're looking for?
Radishes
Base: 108 - Bronze: 124 - Silver: 140 - Gold: 162 - Osmium: 216
Bell peppers
Base: 40 - Bronze: 46 - Silver: 52 - Gold: 60 - Osmium: 80
thank you!! looks like there's definitely a bug then, my bronze radishes were still selling for 124 after perk, same for the silver
my bell peppers as well
noticed that the wiki said the gator gar is from spring 15-28 but I just caught one on Year 2 Spring 3
Can confirm with this site it’s the entire month of spring for its catch time now - 2 week window removed 🤩🤩🤩
That site has been fully updated just now/today to be up to date with all data in current update version
thank you!
thanks for sharing my site <3
oh it's just been updated? @merry aspen thank YOU for making it
I updated it this morning like 12 hours ago or something. only updated the data, i haven't added new functionality or something. I saw many price changes and things like millie being dateable now iirc :D
I'm glad to help :)
YOURE LIKE MY FAVE PERSON I LOVE THE SITE SO MUCH
May I request (only if/when you have time to) to pretty pretty pretty please give the bugs table the same formatting details as the fish one? ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
But seriously the site matching to in game journal makes my brain so happpyyyyy
& that fish table & filter option is outstanding
Thank you Alex!! ❤️
Table and filters for other views are planned! Thanks for your kind words everyone:)
Unfortunately my posts about this tool on Reddit get hidden by mods so there’s no neat way to spread the word
I share this literally everywhere & with everyone - I’m spreading it far & wide!!! (I have a community discord where I keep guides and resources & im part of the original community fb group & know it’s moderators & ofc am chronically active in this server) 😂🥰🥰
Does that mean that all the new heart events are posted in wiki?
The above site is separate from wiki, so default answer is no
Unless wiki has been updated already (I haven’t looked)
Yeah I'm asking because the wiki I'm referring to is updating, but j can't tell if it's fully because it's so little, in terms of the heart events I mean
I thought this channel was always for that wiki not this one so I didn't bother reading the convo mb
Also on me bc I shared the non wiki link in their channel bc the guide site got data updated 😅
I remember that someone here was getting data through datamining/decompiling stuff. Is that this?
Me and others get them from datamining yes. But it is only recent posts that get removed. Nearly all information in wiki are mined by me or others
I wanna say Kalinka went through and added all the new triggers during the beta.
I did see the heart events get updated, I remember during the beta there were new ones with the beta sign on them
Some of the newer NPCs don't have heart events yet either
Yeah If that's the case then and it's updated
A decent chunk of charactere missed out on events then
Oh well, thanks for the wiki stuff anyways
yeah if there were no changes compared to beta most of the heart event tables on individual pages should be accurate
except Kenny and Connor iirc, they had some existing events moved or disabled
I can take a look at them later unless someone else gets to it first
I just want to say thank you wiki editors for always editing the wiki. it's always very helpful and informative.
Are the migrating and cavern fish not working correctly? Someone removed them from the wiki...
they... seem to be there to me?
Their base locations are, but like the salmon for example should be catchable in the rivers during fall.
Or fish that can be caught in the caverns in addition to on the overworld are immune to season and weather changes when they're inside kinda thing.
They have a separate entries in the tables, so I wasn't sure if the person who changed it was just looking at their main entries or something in them broke.
On the main general fish page, I mean. :'D
oh yeah, now you mention it o_o
D'you want me to add those back?
Wait, no, let me check, I think those are changed...
Y' can if you'd like. I just wanted to make sure nothing actually changed. :'D
I'm not gonna touch it for the moment, do you have the data for fish and does it match with the general fish page?
I don't want to change anything by mistake
I went to crosscheck with https://koenig.gg/coral-guide/journal/caught and it seems that the general fish page is in line with that, but now I'm wondering because like you said, the individual fish pages haven't changed
The data table for fish still has the _fall, _spring, and _cave entries for them, yeah.
I missed the alternative entries when updating. I’ll revert my changes on the wiki page
I've noticed that different gems, artifacts, and fossils give different amounts of "points" toward tool enchantments - is that something that could be added to the wiki tables for those categories?
Happy to help compile data if it's not something that could be easily datamined.
I have a list of point values on an 'Enchanting' page! It should be accurate/complete as of beta, but I haven't checked if there were any changes made when it went live.
I or someone could probably add the values to the artifact/gems/fossil pages as well.
Oh, nice, I hadn’t seen that page! That’s really nicely laid out, and since that’s already there I think just adding a link to the Enchanting page from the others would be enough (like, “See Enchanting page for information on using [artifacts] in enchantments.”
I noticed that for Jack and Kira it still says TDB for their birthdays, but considering this dialogue, it might be intentional that their birthday's are "???"
It is datamineable as far as i can tell
I was updating the lake temple altar requirements for each page but is it best to be worded in a certain way? (Totally nit-picky thing but I want to make sure I put it in right). But for instance, the carrot page says "One carrot of any quality is needed for the Spring Sesajen at the Lake Temple" but other pages don't say about quality and others say for which altar. And is it best to say needed or required? (Sorry, just want it to all look uniform) 😁
Hm... Noting the quality requirements - or lack of them - would probably be useful. I don't really have a preference on needed vs required, though I don't know if we'd want to have mention of some items being optional?
Like the Essential Resources sesajen has more items that can be offered than it actually needs to be completed, whereas the seasonal ones require all of their listed items.
I like the idea of having the quality too where we know, I just wasn't sure too if all will accept higher quality items. I've been putting needed since most say that.
Oh yeah, good point on that. I think that might be the only one that has extras that could be replaced out with though? I'll check again though in the game. Oh wait, maybe the fruit plants too
I'm just picky and I want it to all be worded the same 😆
I wanna say there aren't any that require a specific quality and nothing else; they should all be ___-quality and higher. Unless something is broken or being weird. :'D
But yeah, yeah! I get you. :>
Ok, thank you. I haven't been able to get to too many myself yet to know if higher will be allowed. Having the wiki is sooo helpful so I wanted to help out wherever I can cause I'm horribly grateful for it and use it all the time
As a general question, have you found any mention of a a daily luck roll in what you've seen? It used to be a thing and was marked as removed, but I am definitely curious on it since I haven't unpacked a save file since Alpha after they started compressing/encrypting(?) it.
I think it'd be easiest to go with "<min> quality for <offering> at <altar>?" I know I wrote something similar in the past but I can't remember if the formatting got changed for some over time
or "at least <min> quality"
since they should all accept higher quality unless there's a bug
Sounds good. I'll get them changed up more tomorrow. I'll try to see if I can see what you wrote before. Thanks!
I'll take a peek later! I def can't remember now as a lot of changing was going on, but I agree with you on wanting to standardize it
Does
<offering> at <altar> requires <item> of <minimum quality> seem better, to put the offering/altar in focus more?
Sounds good to me. I'll put one together tomorrow or later and have you check it out if you don't mind. Do you prefer require or needs? I don't mind any way and haven't really helped with the wiki on this one before so I definitely want someone else's input 😁
Or if you prefer to put something together on one, I can put it on all the other pages the same. I know some pages aren't in yet (and I'm not sure if it's stuff I can do but I'll see)
Kalinka taught me a lot from another wiki but she's definitely way better than me 😆
I haven't seen it personally. I can see where the old luck system is and that it's been disabled, but I haven't found where a new one has been implemented if there is one.
Could easily just be missing it though.
Hey, good enough for me to rest easy for now. :p
Thanks!
Yeah I just found a data base file with luck randomly yesterday. I don’t know if it is disabled or not so I would go with nautilus‘ answer :D
The one I found starts with an "enableLuckSystem": false so I'm just guessing. :p
I'm not really familiar with wiki-ing, I'm just a words kind of person
I went with 'requires' but I think needs works as well.
The exception would be the essentials/fruit plants, which need a slightly different phrasing
https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Koi
I tried with that phrasing while editing the individual pages, because they're still reflecting the v0.2 inability to fish in the mine shafts proper
Koi is a fish that can be caught on Coral Island with a fishing pole during spring and summer. Koi can be sold, cooked into a variety of dishes to increase its sell price, gifted, or donated to the museum. Koi can be found in trash cans in summer. The Freshwater Fish offering on the second altar needs one Koi of at least silver quality. There ar...
and for the fruit plant on Rambutan, I tried
"The Fruit Plant offering in the third altar accepts Rambutan of at least silver quality."
since the fruit plants accept more than 5 but you only need five
accepts one*
Hello everyone, I'm planning to make custom website for wiki of Coral Island! May I ask does anyone here can help me for the contents or any suggest features that Fandom does not support?
Sorry, what kind of content do you mean?
I mean all the contents in game and plus tutorial for newbie, so on
As you know custom website so I can make all things flexibly
Ah, sure, you mean like tips? In terms of data, wiki + Alex's site already has most of it I believe
Would there be a way to make a checklist of various things that people could have their own copy of?
(I don't know how popular it would be tbh friend, but I know I made a super basic one on google docs)
You should also prob ask in #🐔coral-general and #🙊coral-spoilers since people have been offering help to newbies there as well
Not only tips but also data, wiki, challenge, tools - Input A + B -> C and so on ..
What you mean? Changelog of the game?
🤔
Also Can you send me link to Alex's site? Does you mean this https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/Coral_Island_Wiki
No, like a checklist for the stuff you've caught and donated, I made a basic google sheet
Alex's site is: https://koenig.gg/coral-guide
I did a google sheet but it's really very basic, just https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1yQG2A_89TeIDNLSOW9itMm1GkUg92jW9qmFHXARSPO8/edit#gid=0
Fish
Data from wiki and https://koenig.gg/coral-guide/journal/caught
This is just a checklist for fish, so I didn't include details as the abovementioned sites do it better
MAX: 69,MAX: 15
ALTARS,0,0
No.,Fish,Required for:,Donated,Offer...
Was considering expanding it to include offering checklist, but honestly speaking it's all I can do compared to you guys with more code and website savvy - I just make the words pretty, that's my thing
Ah Okay so you mean the tool checklist so you can track down your activity in game? Sorry since I'm just newbie in Coral Island that's why I need someone play oldie to help me out what tools our community need most
And yes it is easy to build this
Ahhhhh awesome! ❤️
Other things I can think of offhand would be tips, yeah, like a FAQ kind of thing, or a 'suggestions for newbies'
How editable would this be by players in general? Like, would information be easy to edit in, or would you be trying to keep up with everything yourself?
Other things I can think of offhand would be tips, yeah, like a FAQ kind of thing, or a 'suggestions for newbies' ▶ So I will make the feature about tutorials, tips will be feed everyday also
Will collect from out community
How editable ▶ It should be full support by some people who really love the game
So the information the web provide is correct and up to date
Also I will make the feedback button every detail page if the information is incorrect
Thank you! The information will definitely change frequently due to Early Access changes, that's why I asked
i wanted to make this as a page on my guide as well but they compressed their save games so i cannot track what players already got :/
I see 😦 So we'll have to do it manually - that is, track manually
for now yes. i have something in mind to make it easier though, but its on the long list of "soon" features :D not enough time to do everything
Ahhh, it would def be cool though! I threw the google sheet together because currently the game doesn't let you track it particularly well either, alas
so it's a make-do until something cooler comes along
(also brain says 'make sure you note everything cool you see while on your farm exploration, glace' so that's... what i do, I guess)
im a fan of spreadsheets, so i understand haha - i was thinking of implementing something like a "todo" list, you go into the pages, click on things you want to get like some fish or buying seeds and it will show everything on one page (because i always forget)
Hello there, nice to meet you, just want to know you build your app by yourself?
Hello, nice to meet you as well. Yes it's all self-made besides images/design inspiration from the game and the data of course
What's your framework of your website? 🤔 I found it quite lag on web but smooth in mobile
Also cute cat in picture, I also have a cat too hahaha
i use Angular, currently version 15.2 for the web part. Ui-wise I also use tailwind css and angular material in smaller parts. Can you tell me which side was laggy? Havent noticed this myself.
haha unfortunately its not my cat but its a cute one, yes :D
When changing menu
Yeah, that's possible. I have large files with data, that get loaded when needed because there's no backend at the moment. it takes a moment to download them, after first load it should be faster
I can be the ‘person who plays the game & knows lots of little details’ help
I have a guides & resources channel I manage of sites with relevant stuff & info I gather/put together here myself & am good at technical writing which should all help in creating an accessible site with info and support for players
I'd like to offer my help in the ... wordier area as well (don't ask me to word at 8 am though, coherency is my best attempt at that hour)
@nova flume i see you're editing stuff, are you doing the ceramic bowl right now? if not i can transfer the info
I'm taking a break for a bit, so go right ahead!
Okie! Thank you for your hard work ❤️
Super quick quesh
is there a way to quick/mass-change the insect recipes
because with the change in recipes, every single insect page needs fixing due to bug jerky
and it doesn't have a recipe template like the fish did
Nnnnot that I'm aware of. Could probably set up a template for though for any future changes?
Looks like I may be able to set it up so that recipes pull from the table on the main page instead - at least if you want to pull the whole row. Trying to set it up to refer to specific data is probably beyond my ability to do in a way that doesn't look terrible and messy.
In the meantime, Template:Any bug recipe is up and seems to be working.
yeah I can fix it later if I don't forget
ping me if I don't do it before Saturday
what's your plan for it exactly?
a simple lst?
there's a way to set up a table to pull data from individual page infoboxes but it's a pain because visual editor would break it every time it's used on an individual item page
@nova flume actually I can give you mod rights if you'd like, it should probably be enough for using mass edit / mass categorize
oops just saw this, this is also a good solution for the majority of those pages. I can mass replace the tables on individual item pages with it later for the future
it might benefit from adding a check for caterpillars there too to avoid having two templates
honestly feel free to ping me when you have those more technical wiki related questions, I'm not actively editing but I still read the server occasionally
Thank youuuuuuu (both)
@nova flume @dapper imp You guys are creators of Fandom wiki huh? 😍
For the right now, yeah. I figure it'll be less painful to set up different ingredients with a lst of their valid recipes that'll refer to the main recipe table instead of having to track them all down when something changes.
If there'd be a clean/easy way to pull partial data to fill in the recipes listed on the individual utensils and cooked dishes, that'd be a nice to have, but not urgent.
I kind of figured passing data to/from the info boxes would be a bigger pain than it'd be worth. :'D Updating them is tedious but manageable enough, especially if we can get some of the other updates semi-automated.
But yeah! Bug recipe template checks for spiders and caterpillars for those recipes. (Even if I missed one, sorryyy. :'D)
More Kalinka, I just work here, heheh. :p
Lol it's okay, you did the hard work of writing it so I could figure out how to just add one in XD
I can't think of a both clean and easy way to set it up rn. I can template it like it's done on sdv official or mtap/mtas wikis but there's the issue with the visual editor messing it up 😕 and I don't know enough lua to do modules (and frankly not interested in learning it)
Honestly right now (I fixed the individual fish and bugs pages already) the templates help a ton because the old bug pages had them all individually written out. ;_;
Wording wise I also made some alterations (no more "cooked to increase sell price" alas)
Trying to standardize stuff so I can just copypasta like I'm blind cooking bug jerky
idk why I didn't go with templating it to begin with, I think I've made one for fish but not bugs 🤷♀️
it's not the most elegant solution but updating them should be easier that way. and I don't think we have any better (non specialized) solutions at this point, not with the extensions fandom has
Nautilus made one for bugs and I've input them all into the individual pages so it should be fine now
Okay so:
Cooking page should be set up so recipes can be pulled from it. If you want to put recipes on an ingredient it'll look something like this:
{| class="sortable fandom-table" |- !Icon !Name !Ingredients !Utensil !Restores !Sell price !Recipe source |- {{#lst:Cooking|Recipe name}} |- {{#lst:Cooking|Other recipe}} |- {{#lst:Cooking|More recipes etc}} |}
Most recipes will only need to be updated on the cooking page now, and anything that references it will follow suit. Exceptions being the recipes on the Any fish and Any bug templates that are on switches - I wasn't sure if they'd break if I messed with them and updating a couple things in a couple places is still easier than updating everything, everywhere. :'D
I also set up a basic Quality Times template for aged things and started on an Artisan Goods/Aging template. It isn't comprehensive yet, but it should be good for adding to for most fruits/vegetables/flowers - generic wine, kimchi, and mead should functional at least.
You are a godsend
Thank you
Also as a headsup I edited the gem page to reflect the in-game drops
the switches should not break if you replace the wikitext in their output with lst
Cool, cool!
And thank you for snagging the gems. :>
gonna drop these here for someone more familiar with the fandom site than me to add to the fish/fishing & insect/bug catching pages (if its wanted to add that is bc idk)
@nova flume is there any reason the furniture store tables are on separate pages (and lsted to the main page)?
Because they're huge and were slowing down the editor mostly. :'D
have you considered switching to source mode in your preferences?
I'm going to move them to one page and also remove collapsing
hiding content on pages is often not the best idea (and you can force the TOC there if it's not shown to quickly jump to sections if the tables are long like those ones), wikipedia also doesn't recommend it
oops I mean the source editor. this one
Ah! That would probably be useful, yes.
And noted. Sorry for the inconvenience.
do the giants share universal gift preferences?
don't worry about it.
and yes, I consider the source editor superior to visual simply because how much unnecessary stuff visual tends to add 🫤
Not sure. They’re in the same preferences table as the townies if that means anything, but I haven’t played the game lately to check myself.
i can check later if nobody else gets to it first
that'd be great
I don't think we'd need to add it to their pages anyway, maybe make a note of it 🤔
do we have a characters page with a list somewhere? or did I imagine it 🥴
I can't find one so I'll probably make one later tonight
so far with the various stuff tested it seems they do
pink diamond: loved
various cooked items: liked (tried chocolate chip muffins, serabi, red velvet cake)
artisan goods: liked (tried jamu, coffee)
honey: this one's a split but double-checking it matches, neutral except for those who specifically liked it
bread: neutral
insects: (threw a ghost mantis and a pine sphinx) - dislike
fruit: (used a fig) - like
flowers: like (used a lotus & orchid)
insect scents: neutral
veggie: like (used hot pepper)
yeah that matches with universal preferences, thank you for testing
I am attempting to figure out the best enchant to use for trying to get mysterious coffers, since they are the big roadblock for finishing the artifacts portion at the museum. (Aside from Ratih only items.)
A summary of the perks in question:
"Double Artifacts" has a 5% chance of proccing. This seems tied to cracking open coffers, but I have never seen it proc even after 1k+ coffers of various types. Assuming it is broken.
"Rare Trash" gives a 2% chance for dropping rare resources. I have never seen this proc underwater, and the only item that a proc seems to provide is bronze kelp. Assuming it does not apply here.
"Treasure Finder" claims to increase the drop rate of artifacts by 100%. I assume this is meant to be coffers, but have never gotten a skill proc dialog when clearing trash for it. Assuming it might work.
And the Enchants:
"Rare Drops" gives a 3% bonus (not indicating if additive or multiplicative) to finding rare items when clearing trash. I don't know what all is in a scythe's rare drop list, since I have gotten hardwood, fossils, and coffers from trash. So this 3% could be divided evenly among all the possible rolls or applied to each roll.
--Considering that fossils are not on the drop table for any trash items, I am going to assume that this has to be additive (since 103% of 0% is still 0%)
"Extra Drop" gives a 15% chance to drop +1 item when clearing trash. This is effectively a 1.15x multiplier to drop rate.
Based on quick napkin (excel) math (see attached image), it looks like the thing I would like to ask you wiki folk who have access to the source is what order bonuses are applied in. If "Rare Drops" is additive (see above about that), then it is always better than "Extra Drops." However, if it is multiplicative, the outcome is reversed.
I am currently using Rare Drops, but after finding only 1 mystery coffer after 1 month of clearing debris, I have a feeling something might be up. Anyone code savvy care to do some call tracing?
If Treasure Hunter is not working for some reason, this is the resulting table then:
(As an alternative, just tell me how to datamine to get to the source. xD)
I can try poking at the files to look at those enchantment tables, I haven't even seen them yet
I doubt I'd be able to tell if it's additive or multiplicative from there though
you can use fmodel with the game's pak file to get to it
and then dig through it
I wanna say Rare Drops is additive. If I'm understanding it right from looking, it has its own drop table that it pulls from when it procs with no particular weighting to what it pulls from that list. There's no specifications for any tools or kinds of debris; just a straight list of items. (By and large, I don't think any tools have drop lists specific to them, most dropped items are defined by the object being broken/harvested/etc.)
And I want to say Treasure Finder isn't working correctly. It might be intended to apply to coffers, but it looks like it really is only applying to artifacts right now and probably doing nothing.
Unfortunately call tracing is probably beyond me. I can't help much at finding specific orders of calls. :'D
I haven't seen any of the diving skills proc underwater, except for Double Kelp
And, I need to remind myself that I am not looking at embedded software memory management. Unity, why you do dis?
Good luck
It's definitely additive, but it's its own table that floats around. Since there are like 20 items in that table, I am going to say I am pretty sure Extra drops is better for coffer searching while diving.
Okay, so some brief testing leads me to believe the 'extra drops' enchant overrides the coffer drop chance from trash and does not reroll if it lands on something like the pirate treasure. I just got more coffers in one weekend than the entire previous year of clearing trash combined. Cannot confirm, but methinks there is some spaghetti going on. Will maybe look into it more tonight, but I am writing more code inspection documentation at work today for the next 10 hours and my brain may want a break (especially going from C to C#).
For me the extra drop vs rare drop are the same, still lots of trash 😀
Rarely got fossils/coffers 🥲
Btw i upgraded both perks (each time) until it maxed out at 3%
Extra drop can go lower than double digits? I haven’t seen it below 10%.
Oh i was talking about scythe, sorry 😄
Huh! I'll make a note of that.
The wiki says geodes (alpha form) are only available form the black market, but they are also available on your farm (in rocks - current patch) and during the tree planting festival (in the ground)
Hmm... I haven't been able to find them on the debris drop tables anywhere, but I was able to find them on the tilling table for the festival. Added both regardless.
on yellowtail- can we get windy removed? it isn't correct. it has to be rain/snow
Does it still spawn during storm as well? Just checking
Data table says storm is true.
Last time I caught it was a storm
Okay ♡
Do the non-trash items take a different amount of time to turn into compost compared to trash/flyers?
Yes. 'Generic organic' items take 2.5 hours. Or should.
Okay ♡ thanks nautilus!
Hello! May I ask why are crops like Cocoa bean and coffee bean listed as grain? And basil and tea leaf as herbs?
I would also like to propose some changes to crop infobox and how data is added.
I believe it's best that we let infobox handle formatting, so it's easier for new editors and it's consistent across all pages. For example, there are inconsistencies with how growth, regrowth, and seed cost is currently displayed.
|title = Hot pepper
|image = Hot pepper.png
|description = Spicy in flavor. It is commonly used to add heat to dishes.
|seed = Hot pepper seeds
|seed_price = 40
|type = Vegetables
|growth = 7
|regrowth = 3
|season = Summer;Fall
|sell = 30
|health = 10
|energy = 40
|rank = F
}}```
Changes:
- Strict inputs for `type`. Currently we allow `veg`, `vegetable`, and `vegetables`. I think it is easier and better for maintenance when things are consistent and follows what's displayed in-game instead of allowing editor shortcuts. so this param should only accept `Vegetables` for example.
- separate `seed_price` to its own param
- Adds a `Regrowing crops` category if regrowth param isn't empty
- Adds `Unlocks with town rank <rank>` and `<season> crops` category based on input
- Single namespace check for categories at the end
<https://coralisland.fandom.com/wiki/User:Salty_Nori/Infobox_crop>
With the categories made automatically by the infobox, we can automate lists instead of manually updating pages one by one. We can also have a crops list of which plants are regrowing or spans 2 seasons and town rank upgrade rewards
I need to double check them on the game, I think some of the categories were a bit odd last time
Oh! I'm sorry, i forgot to add, scavengeable aren't crops
and I don't think there's a way to know what type they are, right? Like [[Coconut]] isn't classified as a fruit by the game
OH. my bad. they were using a diff infobox but they use the same type, so they showed up in the same category. But scavengeables don't have fruit/vegetable/etc classification the same way crops do. I'll remove type from {{Infobox scavenge}}
thank you so much!
I only have cocoa bean and basil leaf so far, but they're listed as fruit and vegetables respectively
also i forgot we don't have wikibot
that's the category the game assigns them for gifting.
it might've changed in the most recent version of couse, I haven't checked
scavengeables have a type category in the files and it's used for gifting, I'd keep it
coconut is classified as fruit by the game 😅
I'd add lc for the switches there just in case (and keep them consistently in singular) and add a space after the seed name and before its price
also, Rank category could simply be "Rank N" for brewity (not Unlocks with town rank; this can be put in its description)
and theoretically energy and health fields need to be adjusted to be able to use either hp or energy from the formula. I know you've copied them from the current infobox, so it's not a big deal
and field like seeds and image should default to title seeds and title.png respectively if they're unspecified
ugh I keep getting distracted without looking at it properly
i didn't wanna deal with them so i didn't touch lol but feel free to make changes
DPL shows input based on the value in the param. Also in-game it shows Vegetables. I think it's easier if we use terminology as it's used in-game, because that is how an editor is archiving information and how users might look for it/it's what they're familiar with
(that said i still have no idea why some item are Grain and some are Grains OTL)
all versions of coconut are just Scavengeable
which file can we see gifting types?
and is it possible to just separate them from normal Types used in crops?
it's not in inventoryitems but I forgot the table with tags used for cooking / gifting / skills/ etc and can't look at it until tomorrow, it's late
I'd still go with singular here, it's weird to list type in plural 🤷♀️
you mean it should always be required?
or do you mean how {{I}} should handle it?
I mean the default tag in infobox
If it's not filled, it just won't show.
I know how it works
That's a change for I instead of infobox, is it not?
you can assign it a default value that'll be shown if a parameter is unspecified
I don't think there should be a default value at all though.
Can add a category that tags it if it has no seed added, but empty shouldn't show
for seeds that use the same naming pattern? why not
Because they are not all seeds.
and most of them in game do
if they don't and the parameter is specified, the infobox shows the value set on individual page instead
What do you mean?
Anyway, if it defaults to title seeds it lists information that might be wrong in the infobox. some seeds are seedlings instead.
it only shows the default value if the parameter isn't specified, so it's a non issue
I'll tweak it a bit tomorrow maybe, it's very late
I also know how it works.
this is still an issue.
ah sorry, it's because i asked. but i meant more of infobox example
it's fixed by specifying the parameter on seedling pages tbh
Our seed pages are just redirects to the crops
And how is a wrong input in one infobox fixed by fixing the issue in a different infobox?
yes. I don't see how it relates to having default values in a crop infobox tho
Because we have crops that don't come from {{PAGENAME}} seeds, so it's not really "default" just because a majority of the crops come from {{PAGENAME}} seeds
wait, what do you even mean by wrong input? the default values are only shown if you have no input in the field at all
if there's input, it just uses the format tags with that input
Cocoa bean comes from Cocoa seedling.
If input is unfilled and default values are shown instead, infobox will show Cocoa seeds
Am I misunderstanding?
hm. it might actually help to make a separate infobox for fruit plants, are they mechanically different to warrant it tho
Probably not
I think it's okay as is though, but for maintenance we can always spot which infoboxes might have incorrect/missing input by adding categories.
hm. they are different for lab upgrades. so if we're using the same infobox it'd be helpful to add a parameter (or a check) there to separate crops and fruit plants
or use a separate infobox template
Oh... can we do that check and base what the default is for seeds?
If they're mechanically the same though, it would be nice to lessen maintenance by having just one infobox
(also i understand it's late in your part of the world, please feel free to reply when you're more free! wiki can always wait)
oh i just spotted crops that have town rank and year requirements
Hello, does anyone know the formula used to calculate base tile profit/28 days in Crops? I tried figuring it out on my own but math isn't my strong suit
Hi @dapper imp! May I request for css to be applied to the wiki?
this is for tables styles so we don't have to add text-align: <value> for each cell in the table.
Copied from GI wiki's Tables.css
I'll add it tomorrow if I don't forget, it's late
no worries! thank you so much!
I totally pulled the numbers from the Megasheet. :'D
The formula they have there is:
IF(Regrows,(Base_Sell*Max_Harvest-Seed_Price),(Base_Sell-Seed_Price)*FLOOR(27/Growth_Days))
Ooh where is the megasheet?
And i'm sorry, what is floor?
OH found it!
thank you!
Mmhm! :> FLOOR looks like a rounding function - down to the nearest integer.
Yup, floor is rounding down, and ceil is rounding up
thank you so much
Hi @dapper imp! I'm sorry for poking again
May I request for the extension variables to be enabled in the wiki? I was hoping to have profit/season calculated with input added in infobox, but it needs to have another calculation for max harvest.
might be useful for other uses too.
should we move the page artisan good to artisan product? that's their visible type in-game
edit: i see it might have been named after the itemgiftcategory, but i think visible terminology should be used over gift type that i think is hidden?
Ah... Should I keep updating the artisan good listings on the crop pages or leave them alone for now?
Oh, sorry! I didn't realize that was an ongoing project D: I wanted to use DPL to automate the listings. we should update the artisan product page itself instead!
I would appreciate help with making the other pages
I believe I've gone through keg and
oh nvm, i haven't made the pickles for mason jar yet, but jams are up!
If it helps, I have this file: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1e6hzPR_7h3jUV7LKIyGB-cxU4WCDxiNjcp9FMHs7c4A/edit?usp=sharing
can copy multiple cells and multiselect lines > paste in editor. artisan products has been weird with the calculation so I've just been adding all values for sell, health, and stamina
