Based on where you're shooting. The .30.30 decreases the kill zone, but the damage never adds up properly. I've tested it out and even if I hit in the same spot that gets a 1 shot, I'll just randomly not get a 1 shot. It's bugged.

Nobody really sees it but I've used the gun so much I had to test it out. The damage calculation is just bugged. The kill zone is shrunk down from chest to shoulders, but it doesn't matter as I've shot in the shoulders and gotten hit markers.
