So I got this heart-shaped gypsum (satin spar) crystal from a local shop in my hometown and it was wrapped to avoid scratches. My dumbahh tossed it in with the rest of my crystals and now it’s scratched on one side…. Any tips on how to help fix this or do I just grin and move on?

tbh you really cant fix it.
The issue is that satin spar and selenite are so fragile that if you even look at them, they break/fracture 😭
It's just one of those things where because they're so fragile being, I think like a 3 on the hardness scale, your gonna get some cracks unless you treat them like they are a dandelion seed

the red ones look to be carnelian/agate. the yellow one with grey lines looks like dyed howlite. the clear yellow one possibly citrine? more opaque yellow one just regular quartz? the blues are hard to tell. possible guess for the more green ones are aventurine. arrowhead is most likely obsidian. no clue for the white one

Obsidian, for example, is volcanic glass because it's just sediment, burned at a high enough temperature through lava. so it is kind of just glass

It for sure is a type of quartz, and it's been cracked for effect and potentially heat treated! You can treat it as citrine or as clear quartz, whichever you prefer

im just listing crystals i like they may not be feasible to buy: sunstone is one of my faves, also opal, and black tourmaline; i also saw alot of beryl in museums recently and fell in love with that color (aquamarine is a beryl i like, i rprefer raw of that stone). also star sapphires though they are super super rare from nature. i also loveee green fluorite and labradorite and moonstone. i think everything except star sapphires you can find easily or buy. Opals get a bit pricey as well but otherwise most stones are affordable

hm i dont really follow that sort of thing as i feel like working with crystals and finding what best works for you is a system of trial and error on your spiritual development
I think that if you're going to go into working with things that specifically align with your star sign, you need to first look into why you're wanting to use a specific crystal. And work from there because each of your sign placements mean something different, so it wouldn't make sense that you using, say the rose quartz for love would clash with your solar sign, because your solar sign isn't about love it, it's about your venus sign.
So I guess the question would be, why are you using the moonstone and what is it doing for you now?
Then figuring out if it's going to clash with the star sign that covers that area. does that make sense?

So where are your aries placements?
Because while, yes, you can have Aries in any kind of signed placement. If you're looking for emotional stability and emotional stability for you sits in, say, your neptune sign moonstone it could still work for you because it is still a water placement, even if your specific star sign in that placement isn't water. because if what you need is stability i'd say that water can stabilize fire in a specific sense, depending on what it all its attempting to do.
If you've been using moonstone, and you've been having it work for you that should be what matters over a person telling you that it would make you depressive, because now you're starting to doubt the stone and its space within your practice.

Purple might be ametrine? I'm like 95% sure it's amethyst. Large green might be jadeite or aquamarine, it's more on the green side. White feels smooth like a chunk off a marble counter but Google lens said howlite. Brown is coming up as a fossil. Black I'm guessing is like granite or smth. I’m a little bit confused as to how certain protective crystals function and looking online for articles has just added to my confusion because I’m getting two different conflicting answers to my question.
How do I differentiate which protective crystals (like obsidian, black tourmaline, and onyx) absorb negative energy vs create a shield from negative energy? Because I feel like if a crystal does the former, it requires a lot more care when it comes to cleansing and warding certain influences away from that crystal.
Obsidian is a crystal I have a bit of a clearer answer on because I’ve heard a general consensus that it absorbs negative energy (correct me if I’m wrong) and can directly connect to certain spiritual influences, making it very important to cover and cleanse regularly Crystal balls and scrying mirrors made of this material. But what of the others? I’m lost.

All in all a crystals general meanings come from a few different places:
- Where it comes from
- How its used there
- What it is made of
- Color
- Hardness
- Cultural impact
So for an example:
Diamonds in general mean strength, fortune, energy amplification, abundance and love.
Looking at it from all the aspects i listed:
It is one of the hardest materials in the crystal world leading to its strength aspect. It is used very often in the world of marriage lending to its association with love. Diamonds in general are clear, which lends to the energy amplification. The concept of them being very expensive stems from the diamond industry (fortune), and the fact that coal is very abundant in the world and is the base of diamonds is where abundance comes from.
Now you could have personal interpretations of a specific crystal, however, all of your interpretations of something are going to be largely based in your understanding of the world, which is influenced by how you grow up and what you grew up around (aka your culture).

The reason I’m getting so specific is because I picked up this Onyx athame today and I figured that because of Onyx’ protective and purifying properties, it’d be a good fit when casting and warding circles, drawing pentagrams, etc. I feel like the type of protection that’s more shielding rather than absorbing would be better for this sort of thing so that’s why I was worried. When I tried to feel the sort of energy the athame had, it felt very heavy, almost like there were little microscopic energetic thorns poking me. Although, I’m assuming this is nothing some cleansing won’t fix as it was one of the nicer blades in store (meaning a lot of people have probably touched it meaning it holds a lot of that energy on it).

Okay y’all I got some new crystals and I’m wondering what the best way to cleanse these is. I got a moss agate tower, a celestite geode, and a pyrite egg. I also got a selenite disk and an abalone shell (technically not a crystal but ive still got questions)
Generally speaking, I’ve heard burying crystals is one of the best ways to cleanse them when they’re new. That’s something I would do for the moss agate tower but the thing with the celestite and the pyrite is theres a lot of little holes. What would you guys suggest?

I like to use selenite for cleansing and charging crystals. I don't have much energy (chronically ill) so I just keep a bunch of selenite all over the place so it can do its thing. I'm the same way with protections, grab a bunch of protective crystals and scatter. I really appreciate that crystal magic is doable for me with my low energy and my pain.

Yes i believe it is! And when one wants to cleanse a clear quartz you can smudge, use incense, put it in direct sun/moon light and/or cool water (I’ve personally have used moon water for that)

solution: dont call it smudging, don’t use an abalone shell and feather when burning herbs, and burn herbs from your practice/ancestry

Garden sage is a decent alternative. It doesn’t smell as pleasant but the impact on the white sage population isnt as bad. Or you could always grow your own but do so with caution and care to make sure you’re not appropriating from indigenous cultures

Leaning toward a half tumbled white chrysocolla to me. It isn't polished but it's giving that color variety that the white chrysocolla can have. Could also be a Phoenix stone which is a type of chrysocolla

It's Azurite / Malachite in a white matrix which matches that well

hmmm i still think it might probably be some type of quartz.
the rainbow bits may be little cracks inside! that happens sometimes and it's really pretty, if iirc it, beside the quartz's itself properties, adds a plus to creativity.
about the dark spot, probably smoky quartz then

some rocks are kinda fragile and will break if you look at them ugly (selenite), so it doesnt make a lot of sense to have them be drastically changed by chips or cracks.

Well, I don't know if it's "chipped off", but yesterday I noticed my milky quartz was damaged. It's like some other crystal broke off a piece of it. The missing piece wasn't there tho.
