Each behaves differently, lives in different conditions, and requires completely different techniques to catch. Throwing them all under one lazy label is like hosting a “catch the bird” contest and not clarifying whether participants are dealing with pigeons or eagles.

If you don’t specify the type, the event becomes chaotic and unfair. Someone targeting slow, bottom-feeding common carp with bait rigs is playing a completely different game than someone chasing fast-moving grass carp that barely respond to the same tactics. Equipment, bait, timing—it all changes. Without clear rules, you’re not testing skill; you’re rewarding guesswork or prior knowledge of what the organizers secretly meant.

And let’s not ignore safety and environmental concerns. Some carp species are invasive and should be handled differently than ornamental or protected ones. A vague “catch the carp” directive risks ecological damage or accidental harm to the wrong species.

In short, if you’re going to host the event, be precise. Otherwise, it’s not a competition—it’s confusion disguised as sport.

Software engineers literally study reliability and distributed systems just to push availability beyond 99.9%, yet Metin2 devs are out here giving away 168 hours of downtime per year for free. They seriously need layoffs and better talent, because a lot of the people there are performing below junior level. And if they want to reduce lag, they should start building stateless servers so when one server restarts, another can immediately take over requests through the load balancer. This is not rocket science. It is basic engineering in the programming world.

I agree with your opinion, but look at it from a company perspective. Players, despite the issues, continue to spend large amounts of money. So why should a company invest time and money in fixing bugs when it already has substantial revenue? For player retention? The paying audience is the same one that keeps playing despite the existing errors and flaws (which private servers have fixed or implemented).

You have to shop for almost €1,000 to get all the cards to complete the Okey event. You'd earn about 250 won for all that money. If you sell Dr. vouchers, €1,000 would make you over a thousand won. That's why this server is completely flawed. It's not worth shopping there. You'll only lose money. It's better to invest on the respective servers where you play.

Hey dude, the same happened to me - I managed to get in, by opening Task Manager, en close ALL Gameforge clients (Both, the Gameforge Client Renderer, Gameforge Client Launcher and all Gameforge Client related items) - I had to do it 3-5 times tho, before the Gameforge client finally opened without issues - Give it a try 🙂
