For damage it's mody3, the crit on traps is pretty decent
If you want to stall with s2/s3, modx3, the additional traps are very useful, and if they're not you just retreat them

mody1-3 (lvl1 gives the biggest jump) gives you more damage in a single skill but if you need her sandbeast up for every skill it wont work as well
basically, mody1 is the simple braindead low investment direct upgrade to her damage
modx3 is the highest investment increase to her skill ceiling but it doesnt change her damage by much

for one, like shiyon said, you oftentimes dont need her sandbeast for the whole skill duration since ray will blow up her targets earlier
you also dont need the range extension for every skill usage
in terms of straight comfort i suppose modx gives more leeway in terms of covering for mistakes and such tho so you're right there

From the guide I watched, she needs multiple enemies in her range for the attack to bounce. She can also use an operator with low sp cost to apply paralysis. Cutter can also be used to spam paralysis, as far as I understand how skill 3 works. I'm not sure how effective she is with tragodia, it didn't show.
