I would say spending sanity on LMD and battle records is fine as long as you don't overdo it, it can be a nice boost to get a few strong operators in your roster to a working condition, but don't depend on it as your main source. Also if you intend to farm those you should unlock the max level cargo escort and tactical drill stages, they are the most efficient
