It will take time but it's much better than bricking your account's progress by outright refusing to upgrade anything but high rarity

Well, you look at the stage (level) in front of you and by trial and error figure out what you're missing. "My road blocker is dying? I need a defender (Cardigan, Beagle), or maybe i need a healer! (Hibiscus)" "I can stall but the enemies are just too much.. I need more damage! (Kroos, Steward, Lava)" (only 3*s mentioned) You get the idea. If you think you're doing the "strategy" correctly but are still failing, consider leveling operators (the "recommended operator level" on each stage is a good mark, though you rarely actually need to go beyond elite 1 max even if the stage says elite 2 something) or asking for help here.

Or you can look up "arknights {stage name}" on youtube and just follow a guide. Wouldn't blame you lol

but when it comes to gacha games you benefit greatly when you do your own research and plan out what op to build, pull for, etc. it’s actually to your detriment to go into it completely blind as you will end up missing out on units you would’ve really wanted and building units you don’t need.
