There are 2 source of Elemental Dmg
From Elemental Burst and from Operators

Dmg from Burst are fixed, it doesn't scale with anything. While Dmg from Operators itself scales with the Operator.
Elemental Resistance can decrease and Elemental Fragile will increase the dmg which can affect both

Honestly for any tank related needs Cuora and Bubble MORE than do do enough. If they cant tank whatever youre throwing them at, it might be a good idea to reconsider your strategy as youre probably doing something wrong.

That isnt to say you might not want to use other defenders or they cant be better. But if youre using some other defender youre doing it because they also do something OTHER than tanking.

Like Saria or Shu for healing + defending role. Or a dps defender. Or a elemental damage applier

Ive used an e1 Cuora as my main pure tank for years since day 1 of the game. Only bringing her to e2 this year. She gets the job done.

Its a bit of a controversial take but Ive always been off the opinion that for the long term saria is the best option from the selector.
Others are better in the short term since a strong dps will really carry you.
But I mean look at the rate of powercreep of dps operators. We get broken dps practically every month. Even if you dont get a strong dps there chances are you already have one or will get one very soon.

On the other hand while Saria doesnt solo carry, shes held up to power creep far better. Her only real direct competition is like Shu. Who is better. But is also a limited operator whos gone already. You're only real option is pulling 300 times to get her. And Shu isnt 300 pulls level of better.

Like sure, there's hardly anyone directly powercrept Saria, but so what? It doesn't mean she will stay relevant. You don't need a Healing + Blocking, that role compression isn't that valuable. A player will almost always going to be bringing a medic in their team, and any Laneholder is good enough to plop to the lane and actually contribute to the battle

And as you said, we will get alot of broken dps. And you know what a dps will also do? Lower the usage of both blocking and healing. If you simply kill the enemy fast enough, then you don't need that much blocking, so in turn also lowers Sarias relevancy

If i want something to plop to a lane, I'd rather use a Guard with medic than getting Saria who will only block a lane
A medic nowadays, M3 will buff my units, Eyjaberry have a big range so it also heals my other units will contribute more
And a Guard will actually reduce the use of a blocking since they activity reduce the enemy HP so they die faster

You can absolutely get away with not bringing a pure healer. Outside of like niche knights clears, I dont even use a medic on my average 6 star team. Shu + self sustain operators are usually enough.

Now will Saria see a lot of use VERY long term? No. I agree. But neither will the others. I just think she remains relevant to a new account longer while still being good early on

Honestly to this day I still get a lot of use of healing defenders. But like I said I dont use medics much so Im probably biased
