Don’t ever need to touch the windows audio mixer
That will likely cause you trouble fighting with wave link.
yeah its windows trying to fight the channels for some reason. It was doing it before i tried the windows mixer method lol
If an app has internal settings for its output and input device, go ahead and use those so the app doesn’t try to fight you.
But want link routing is a front end for windows app routing. So no need to ever look at that windows sound mixer panel
Yeah windows is trying to ignore it, it would seem and use its own eternal drivers. Wish we could disabled windows built in audio crap cus it always causes me problems lol

like i set to lock default devices and windows doesn't seem to care. Its forcing a mic I don't even use as default even after I change it. I feel like a old man yelling at the clouds lol

Do you see differences in what is selected as default? And go ahead and set the default communication devices the same way

Yeah its just forcing itself even after i change the defaults it switches back. 15 years since I started using windows for playing games. Some things never change 🥲

Hello, I have a problem with Wave Link since the latest update : my microphone output only goes in my left ear (don't know how to explain it better 😅 )
I joined a screenshot of my setup, tried removing the plugins (it didn't fix), tried removing the microphone and resetting it again (it didn't fix), tried setting another microphone like my webcam for example, and the bug isn't present, only when it's using my HyperX microphone.
And the problem isn't from the mic, because I can use it on OBS directly without problem
Does anyone know how to fix this ?
This is a known issue for third party multi-channel devices, and even started doing this on wave devices for some users as of the full release.
It was recommended to reinstall fresh, to see if that works.
If it doesn’t, then you can use a free plugin with panning capability (like protility) to pan it back to center, until a patch comes.
I'm seeing some videos where creators have more than 8 channels. Is that because they have a wave product linked that they "unlock" more or is this something that was changed in the full release?

Hey! Quick routing question for Wave Link 3.
If I add the individual Wave Link channels (Music, Game, Mic, etc.) directly into my streaming software instead of using a Stream Mix. (Like for my mic i use the mic output, and for game i use the game output)
But when I adjust the volume inside Wave Link, it doesn’t seem to change the level in my streaming software. I knew Wave Link 2 did not allow this, but was not sure if Wave Link 3 did that, just trying to understand how the channel outputs behave
This is the same with wl3.
And it always will be. Wave link is a mixer, so its effects and volume changes will only ever be heard on its outputs.

Only vague guesses. Windows configurations is really the Wild West…
But the suggestion will be to remove it completely and restart, verify any existing wave link drivers and virtual devices are removed on a fresh boot, then try the installer again.

You need to remove Wave Link 2 and then install Wave Link 3. 3 is a completely new app if you install it while 2 is stil installed they will conflict and cause issues, and you'll have to remove both and reinstall 3

They said the installer will remove wl2 for you, now…. But I’ve seen some reports of that not going right.
And either way you have to download it; the only in-place update is if you were already using the beta.
And again, some are having to install fresh to avoid bugs anyway

Okay so i uninstalled/reinstalled, everything worked well
But when i tried to add back my plugins, GForm specifically which is a VST2 plugin, the bug came back
Steps to reproduce : fresh install Wave Link, see that the bug isn't here, install GForm (https://gvst.uk/Downloads/GForm), set the VST2 folder in the "Effects" settings tab, try adding GForm on the microphone effects : bug appears (tried it 3 times just to be sure)
SAMEEE, just joined the server because of this issue. VST2 plugins have no effect. Using ReaPlugs
for me the plugin has the correct effect, it just makes my microphone sound only come from the left 🙁
Not in my case... I had to uninstall WL2 by myself
Vst2 is a pretty old standard, it might not be compatible with some of the things wave link is doing under the hood.
I can’t say for sure that this is why, because it might be specific to that plugin only, but… would generally recommend vst3 versions of plugins. Anything made in the last few years will be vst3

The reaplugs are especially old and were abandonware even before vst3 was the place to be.

That no wave link audio devices exist on the system after a fresh boot. Look at device manager.
But I’ve not done this. My windows computers are on win10 so I haven’t touched wl3 at all on windows.
I´ll try it.. ( just a bit annoyed that I can´t get the drivers installed and any progress while trying to install the WL3 )
Thank you for the info. For the time being I will stay off wave link 3 since if the app has the option to use VST2 plugins, then they have to work in my opinion.
But it is great to know that if I ever desire I may come around by using VST3 plugins, so thank you
unfotunately nothing works, I uninstalled everything fully old wave link wise and it still doesn't work, welp
I found the driver installer in the appdata folder and running it displays a windows error :/
Each plugin is made by a developer and needs to be kept up.
If you’re using a plugin that isn’t being kept up, it might fall out of compatibility with other software.
Then follow the trail the error gives you. Might have some missing dependencies like .net framework being out of date or something.
As I say, it’s the Wild West and your config can differ in 10k subtle ways from the next user.

on the particular folder shown in the logs, where the driver should be downloaded by elgato, this one is showing windows error to you? ( I´m about to try that step too, will report back how the reaction on my side was.. I´m just trying actually if it work with disabled firewall if that might be an issue somehow )

dont know what it is but i dont think WL3 is crashing, it just closes when i close another app or game. I just closed factorio then boom, WL3 is gone as well
but thats it for me. switching back to WL2. It was so much better and stable imo.

In the music producition, when you use a DAW, it does matter how you stack plugins
since the system is reading them from top to bottom.

They said yesterday that they were running 600ohm headphones on it with no issues. It’s been upgraded.

Absolutely, to both. It's a hardware refresh, increased quality for all the parts of the circuit. And the new ones have DSP for the 5 effects on board, as well as VST insert for super low latency for the host-based effects; low enough that apparently you can monitor them.
For the wave XLR pro early access - it still says I am already subscribed but on stream said its not via creator newsletter it's via something else. But the link still directs me to creator newsletter. Any ideas on what is the right link?

I'm having issues in Wavelink 3.0 hearing audio from my bluetooth headphones when they are disconnected and then reconnected to my system. I didn't have this issue with Wavelink 2.0, so I thought I would see if anyone had any information on this.
Basically each time my headphones reconnect to my PC I have to use the "Main Output Device - Toggle" function on the stream deck to cycle back and forth between my headphones and speakers then back to my headphones for the headphones to start transmitting the audio.
For clarification, the headphones are only connected to the PC, other access points are disabled; and this doesn't happen when the computer starts. Also, Wavelink does recognize the device as connected and shows it transmitting audio, screenshot included.

That sounds pretty normal to me. but maybe something they can improve in later patches.
If you're up for it, send a ticket to #official-tech-support so they can collect your logs and maybe improve this behavior.

Actually I think I may have found a temporary fix.
In task manager, under details, I set Elgato.WaveLink.exe priority to High (not Realtime so as not to interfere with system processes); but now it connects like a charm.
I had to close out wavelink using task manager the first time around, then reopen so it updates connections
Btw.. if people don't hear there output you need to turn it ON! (it's not dummy proof)

Does Wave Link 3 have separate routing tables and other settings for different users on a pc? I have a specific user account that I log in to while streaming, which I would want to have a different setup to other users.

Update your plugin from marketplace - you might have one of the older versions installed. If it won't update it, go into your VST3 folder and delete it and download it again
hello, i have a small problem, i updated into wave link 3 from wave link 2, whenever i streamed on discord my screen there was no audio from discord and just audio from the desktop apps, now that i do that there are both audio from the desktop and discord, how do i avoid this?

Uninstall first so you don't possibly run into any issues
always restart between uninstall and reinstall, no matter what it is, because Windows in general loves to keep stuff in temporary files etc that could interfere

Wave Link 3 is free for everyone, Wave Link 2 was only for people that had it unlocked through Wave mics, Wave XLR or the Stream Deck+

I started a thread in their discord a while ago. With WL3 just being released they are finally able to start.
They weren't going to do anything until the official release.
yea, gotta wait longer. But even then I'm hearing WL3 is just as buggy as during the betas, according to some people, so I might wait for another update or two on WL3 before I consider updating
I have had minor issues every 3 weeks or so but been using it daily since the first beta release.
People that never have any issues never speak up, while people with issues are loud 😛 so you always have to try things yourself and not listen to a vocal minority

believe me. I tried the first beta, then waited to beta 3 and still had bugs. So I reverted to 2.0 and never looked back to 3.0
Just downloaded and installed the new Wave Link. Any idea why it keeps renaming the Browser channel to SFX?
Do you have any other windows that might be in the background asking you to approve the install? Can you alt-tab to check; they may not show up in the taskbar.

The icons (the list you have open) cannot be renamed. If you change the name at the top left and then close/reopen WL3 does it keep the name?

I just renamed it - for the 3rd time. Closed WL and reopened it. It kept the name "Browsers" - but I'm not sure how long that will last.
I think it finally took...I notice my stream deck is now seeing "Browsers"
Windows doesn't like virtual audio channels being renamed :( That's one of the few issues I had.
well...here's the thing if you look at my picture...I selected "Browser" and the software renamed it itself to SFX
In your screenshot, you are selecting the "Browser" icon for the channel, not setting the name.

Well I selected Browser...it started off as Browser, and after I select all my browsers the title box changed from "Browser" to SFX...okay, case closed, it's keeping "Browsers" in there now.

When I start my pc, the volume of my personnal mix is set to 0 in my windows 11 settings and I need to manually raise it back up to 100 to be able to hear anything going on. How could I fix that?
I have a question regarding the wave xlr pro. One of the features is “real time monitoring”. If i like to use wireless usb headphones (Steel Series Nova Pro), but still want real time monitoring, if i have my headphone receiving audio over usb there would be delay right? Would the workaround be to use either the headphone or line out into the base station of the nova pro, and then that should give me real time monitoring?
Hello - I'm trying to add effects to my mic but they just won't show up here. I go to Marketplace, click "Open in Wave Link" on Equalizer for example and just nothing happens. No errors, doesn't download anything, nothing - not really sure what to do

I just did it myself and was able to download the elgato equalizer from not being signed in to signing in downloading/installing/and then adding to the mic.
The only note I have is that it has multiple pop ups requesting elevated permissions, if you're not seeing those may be good to exit wavelink from the taskbar and then launch as admin
Sorry had to do something real quick - I am, tho is that related? Are those two apps connected in any way? I didn't think it would matter - but I am signed into both

I did a full reinstall - that actually worked. I've had WL3 since it was like, the first beta version so maybe something just got borked along the way - that's my guess

Just wanted to say thanks to whoever decided to release 3.0.... it has completely borked any and all audio on my system. Told people for years how good 2.0 was and now with this pile of garbage software I can't in good faith recommend 3.0. I literally am using the default channels (game, sfx, etc) and yet I have three different game options in OBS, a n option for gaming which isn't nor was ever created as a channel. And somehow is creating new channels based on the game being played.
Ridiculous software "update" .

i can not figure out how to insert Microphone(with Filter to OBS)
- if i make a specific channel for obs. the Obs only capture left channel audo. (my mic is usb)
- if i set my obs input to (my mic name), it capture the raw audio without vst (and of course its stereo)
previously in wavelink 2, it has MicrophoneFX,
put it in my obs, and it works perfect.ly.

I installed the Wave Link 3 today. Then it asks me to install the Audio Driver. Then i click the button, it asks for admin perms, i accept. And then the button just grey's out. and does nothing (for like 10 minutes), when the button turns clickable again and repeat.

yeah mine kept sending it in Wave Link 2, and it wasn't going to 3, I had to uninstall and then install 3

just discovered a bug with wave link 3 and the new stream deck plugin

I'll post it there. but basically when using toggle control for mute on my wave xlr it automatically sets the output volume at max when i unmute
You can use it to mute the mix vs the device, it shouldn't mess with the channel levels when used that way
yeah theres already a toggle set up for it to mute the channel vs the device. but just to note that when I mute the device it shouldn't max the volume after unmuting

I'm running into the issue where certain apps that I can change audio outputs in are sending audio to other channels except the ones I'm selecting--like I use the empty channels for System, Browser, Voice Chat, Music, SFX, and an Aux one specifically so I could route appropriate apps to those channels.
Except Teams thinks Voice Chat is System, and another app I use thinks System is SFX.
Anyone having this problem and found a fix?

I've heard people having issues with the app thinking one channel is another, i found they have had best results removing the channels, restarting wavelink from the task bar, adding the channels back, then restarting wavelink from the task bar again

Hello need some help with Wavelink 3. im coming from wavelink 2 and im having an issue with discord not using the FX that is enabled on my mic input. before i would select wavelink FX as my input so that i can use my mic with the softwares effects instead of using discords krisp. now with wave 3 i dont have that option anymore or at least i dont know how to get that option back and my mic effects is not working in discord. when i use direct monitoring on wave 3 i can hear the effects working but discord does not. any suggestions please and thank you

The way to do it now is to make a Chat Mix that you can then route your mic and any other channel to. Then you can add the channel you want your fx to be on. See image for example

Try uninstalling the plugin and reinstall it. It could just be bugged when it got moved over from wave 2 to wave 3

After you install I would do a system reboot. Wave 3 seems to behave better when you reboot after installing plugins. Just so it forces the program to re load everything.

To clarify, that was a feature added later on, older versions of the plugins don't have it which is why they're suggesting you remove it and re-add it. Odds are the update on it failed at some point.

So i enabled it in task manager, then i went to wavelink 3.0 and tried to turn startup at login on but it keeps turning off. So i went back to task manager and it turns off even though i initially turned it on in task manager
okay, I have more info on my crashes from earlier with wave link 3.... they seem to trigger when I close an application randomly. it has happened when closing a game and my web browser.
I definitely recommend having WL3 install only after WL2 is completely gone

I’m pretty sure someone has asked this question before, but I’m not sure where to ask it, but is Elgato just not having any plans on ever having its software Linux compatible? I’ve been using my Steam Deck as my main computer for both gaming, and whenever I just wanna dock it and chill with the homies, and while I can still use the Wave XLR as an audio interface, the software is just inaccessible unless I have a Mac or Windows PC, neither of which I have. I’ve also had the XLR since it released like 4 years ago
And before someone says “just get a Windows PC” it stopped working the moment the RAM crisis started, so it’s too expensive to fix

I would suggest for now looking into third party tools that can use it like Bitfocus Companion. Iirc t hat has a linux version and can make use of the Stream Deck hardware. There are no currently annouced plans for any linux support so at the very least I wouldn't expect it in the near future.

Has anyone else had issues with their headphone audio quality after installing the new Wave Link? Everything is tinny and slightly distorted as well as randomly panning the audio

I recommend it, otherwise you end up with a bunch of virtual audios

There is an updated noise removal plugin. This one no longer works. Uninstall it and look on the elgato marketplace for the new one.

Listening device is correct. Any time I direct something to the personal mix I just, don't hear it anymore. So I'm just not even trying to use it ATM.

Ok. Try this. Open your personal mix and remove the headphones you have linked to it. Then click the little ear icon next to the personl mix on the routing table. What ever listening device you have set as default in the top right hand corner is tied to that ear icon. Once it is turned on on the mix you want you will hear the audio. You can then change your monitoring mix by changing which mix has the ear next to it.
And now the mic suddenly doesn't work with seemingly no reason at all, worked literally 20 seconds ago. I hate this software so much.

After restarting the PC, while not touching literally a single setting, it magically works again.

lol. That seems to be the main solution with this software. I think the issue is during the beta there were a lot of users to ran into one bug and instently rolled back. This is the first time this software has been used in mass so I am not surprised new bugs are showing up. If you run into other issues you can DM me since I have been running this for months now and know a few tricks.
so far my issues with this release is i cant resize the columns for the outputs. they have alot of padding for no reason meaning i cant use it on my vertical screen.
also between beta and release for some reason the whole application became really buggy and output channels just stop working randomly.
the beta worked better than this, im rolling back to 2.0.6 at this rate
it could also be a issue with the new driver that was inforced between now and the beta im not sure.
the ux/ui of the application just isnt there how ever. alot of dead space that just prevents power users from being comfable. it really does feel like it was nerfed down
I forgot about the amount of space it takes up. I ended up moving it to my horizontal monitor on the right and moved OBS to the bottom 1/2 of my vertical monitor. I ended up making a virtual stream deck that gives me the ability to monitor my levels during recording or streaming. Doesn't solve the problem but it is a nifty solution to check levels at a glance
from my understand virutal stream deck needs you to own a streamdeck. i only have the wavelink mic i got as a gift.
i do like the new per app controlls of wavelink3 but the ux just kills it for me currently. i need to see all my output channels on my vertical screen.
simply allowing users to resize colums and hide the side bar to the right since we dont need to change tabs all that much would do it for me

If you hit the hamburger menu in the top left you can minimize the left column
You can also hit the button I circled in the top right to have a minimized view of the mixes
that helps a bit then. then just adjusting the colums and maybe the rows since the ammount of padding around the volume metters is kinda silly (or just made the whole box a slider?)
okay this is absolutely infuriating. I had everything working just fine with wave link 2.0. Now none of my game audio is going through OBS to where my stream can actually hear it. I don't even know what the heck I am doing wrong in 3.0. This is beyond confusing.

WaveLink 3.0 is a godsend! I can finally clean up my audio without it going through many different things for effects or VoiceMeeter
I just wish that we had the option for 96kHz instead of 48kHz . Maybe that feature can come eventually

I've already looked up some posts here and didn't see anything about that.
After going from WaveLink 2.0 to 3.0 everything nearly works fine. Of course some things but nevermind.
But I do have an issue with the Gaming-Channel (again)
There are some Games, which I can attach to that channel. Also there are Games which I can't, which previously worked on 2.0.
The Game is open but it says "Unavailable"
It does not work via WaveLink 3.0 directly neither via StreamDeck and the WaveLink Action "Attach open Window to channel xy"
If I go to the Win Soundmixer I can manually attach the Games to the channel. So the channel itself works. But this is very inconvenient. Especially when streaming.
Is this a known issue?
Some games have internal audio settings that override Windows mixer and wave link. I'd check if those titles have sound settings in their own menus that you can assign to the Wave Link virtual devices for the channel
Already checked that. Even though - on 2.0 I could attach nearly 95% to the Game Channel by just adding the game to the channel or in my case by press of a button. Even for games with these setting possibility.
For example: Yesterday I played MIO. On 2.0 it was on my game channel and everthing worked fine. On 3.0 I could attach the open game but then it told me "unavailable".
And this game does not have internal audio settings
So I had to route it via Win Sound Mixer, which worked
So what's the solution if I'm trying to add a game to a a channel but despite the game running, it isn't in the list? Does that game just not get to be there?
As I mentioned above as a workaround. You can use the windows soundmixer and route it manually to the game channel

Have you rebooted your computer since setting up all audio channels and mixes? Rebooting seems to be a pretty consistent fix for a lot of these early issues.

Yes. And so far everything works. The only issue is, that Games are "unavailable" and can't get rooted via WaveLink to the Game Channel. Spotify, Discord etc. works fine

Yes. And all my games are listed there.
And when I add them before opening or while opening -> "Unavailable"
Even when the game is open and I freshly add them they are "unavailable"
The are listed but the audio is not routed.
When I go via Windows Soundmixer I can route them to the games channel and that works. So the channel isn't broken itself.
The routing via app does have some issues/bugs there?!
Maybe try this. Remove that game channel.
Create a new channel as an empty game channel.
Reboot computer then route your games to that empty channel.
I think that was I ended up doing. I made all the channels I wanted as empty channels then I started assigning programs as needed.

yeah the new software is a fickle pain in a few areas unfortunately for now at least
I also do miss the "linking" between mixes. So that for me e.g. Games on 100% and for the Stream 80% and when I lower the 100 for me it automatically lowers for the stream in the same ratio. I'm really missing that linking between the mixes
That link still exists. Notice how when I am changing the channel volume it is changing the other mix channels at the same time?

It seems the channel is global for alle mixes. So you cant say only Personal and Stream mix but not the recording mix
It would just be what ever channels are picked on the routing table. See how nothing is happening in Chat mix since it isn't routed.
gotcha, maybe something that could be tweaked in future releases but good to know it does travel across all Mixes
Trying to make my routing as efficent as I can. I want to a make sure that when I record offline I can still have the option to control individual channels audio levels in case there is an issue with levels. Right now I have a Record Mix and then the same channels split out as their own channels so I can have them on different tracks in OBS for the actual recording. Do I really need the Record Mix if it is the exact same as the Stream Mix? I mainly added it so it was its own name but is this efficent or am I over complicating things?
So when your Stream mix is 1:1 the same as the recording mix you don't need it.
When you for example have music or alerts, which you want in the stream but not the recording, then it would make sense
Also you could, if you want route everything "correct" in WaveLink. Then you could mute the channels for the respective mixes and then, as you did, you just add all the seperate channels to OBS for the track stuff there

Go to the settings in wave 3 and set up the default input and output. Then remove all listening devices from your mixes. Set the default listen device in the top right to the device you want to use. Then click the ear icon on the mix you want to monitor. That should ensure audio is routing in the right way

After installing WaveLink 3.0 and its drivers, the sound from my WaveDX and WaveXLR microphones suddenly became delayed. At first, I thought it was only in WaveLink 3.0, but connecting the mic directly to OBS or listening to the microphone in Discord also causes this delay. I've seen two or three people have this problem before – has anyone found a solution?

Resolved. I figured out how to backup wave link 3.0 manually so that if it ever resets I can restore it back to its prior state.
There should be no dependencies on the legacy plugin. Did you do a restart after installing the new plugin and wave 3?
There's been a longstanding issue with the way discord captures audio for screen sharing... they have changed this a lot over time and without notice, but much of it comes from discord not showing the option to select an audio device to capture for the screen share. I think they give the option if you have Nitro, but not otherwise... or maybe they hide it in a weird spot.
Ultimately, they need to give the option for users to select which device is the screen share audio source... and then you can simply select the mix you want it to use.

I don't have nitro right now and I just checked... and the only way to get an option to select audio device as the source, is to choose "devices" from the discord share screen dialog. (applications, or entire screens do not give the option)
If you select a device, then you can select the audio device also in the settings cog of that same window

So that would be the best workaround unless discord gets their "stuff" together

I've deleted the Game Channel.
Added it new.
Now all Games are routing to that channel, without the workaround through Win Soundmixer. By a touch of a button (StreamDeck+) the open Game is routed to the Game Channel
Uhhh... well I usually recommend not doing things like that for sake of the confusion they cause.
you'll need to remember to go back there and adjust it again or you won't have sound when you revert back to normal.
Because you're doing some mixing outside of wave link. So this will be confusing later
i did soemthing similiar with voicemod cuz i had echo on screenshare and that seemingly fixed it

If you're an expert in this stuff, then likely you don't need my advice on routing and such.
If not and you're asking here.... well, just keep that in mind when you do things that will result in future confusion.
I think that sounds a little elitist phrase it this way, and I don't mean any harm! Just try to keep people in the zone for understanding what they are doing, and why; with their routing. So they can solve issues when they come up.
Enough goes on in here that I can say there is real value in routing being as straightforward as possible.
So I'm not going to mince words with discord and they way they hide or disable settings for this stuff.

hey all, not the most experienced with Wavelink but i started with it using the beta 3. everything was stable and running great till the full release. Now i have no output sound at and the gain lights arent picking up anything on my pc, just on my mic.

if you don't need the dual mic dual headphone capability, the regular wave xlr mk2 is probably all you need. But tune in to the deep dive broadcast later today

first, make sure you try fully removing it and reinstalling fresh. there was some reports of weirdness on in-place updates
ok thankyou, i feel i jumped the gun on my amp paired with my headphones then.
i purchased the WA7 firefly gen 3 to power them. but found out afterwards it does not have aux ports for mic monitoring.
i was indeed having Loadlink errors so that was the first thing i did, Fresh install and then fresh set up all of the mic effects, added all my channels , and then added it to my stream deck+ (OUTSTANDING new feature btw). Getting gain green bar on the mic but nothing on the channels and no sound coming through the headset (which is shown as the output)
check out the stream later today for xlr pro. but yesterday was about the regular one. they all have the same new headphone amps
other checks... make sure windows hasn't turned the devices down or muted them, and make sure it's not enabled any enhancements or spatial effects.
Other than that.... reinstall and restarts are our only move at this point. So send a support ticker #official-tech-support so they can get your logs and work it out.

If it was newly connected to the system, likely the app needs to be restarted
vst3 plugins should all work. if you use any VST2, they might... but that's getting quite old now so no promises about future support for plugins out of development.
if you're using that discord "check mic" button, don't rely on how that sounds. It's only good for if there is signal present. Use sound check in wave link to actually hear what your mic sounds like.
firmware update fails, generally we suggest trying different usb ports until it works.

and as always... this is like day 3 of launch of a totally new app. Have some patience and if you upate a system that is mission critical... you are taking a risk.

My issue right now is any VST3 plugins from Waves I load, completely locks up Wavelink to the point where I have to reset it to even access the UI. Puts it in a loop.
But some cursory searching says that it started happening with the final release, so hopefully it's just a regression.
Also having issues with Waves plugins, It won't even scan the vst3 folder for me

It'll scan and enumerate the list for me, just adding a plugin causes the frontend to crash. I do need to test when I get home if the audio engine keeps working in the background or if that goes kaput too.
I just want to jam a 2A on Discord for the people with... loud mics to say the least. 🙂

Hi there, I'm currently running a GoXLR but wanting to switch to a Wave XLR + Wave Link combo. I've been playing around the software (without the Wave XLR as I do not have this yet) and I'm struggling to figure out how to have Wave Link act in the same way as GoXLR.
For reference, I'm not a streamer, but I will use screen sharing in discord to watch videos with friends, currently with GoXLR I can have my windows audio turned up all the way so that my friends can adjust themselves and not need me to turn it up and blast my ears. With the mixes in Wave XLR is there a way to do a similar thing, I'm, currently only finding ways to have different virtual outputs but my understand is this wouldn't work the same way for screen sharing as it just uses the system audio.
Any help will be much appreciated
I rely on a couple waves plugins for my wave link setup right now.
And while the new hardware dsp ….might… replace those. I don’t have that hardware yet and I probably wouldn’t dream of switching to wl3 until waves issues are sorted out.

With screen sharing. They dont allow options for the audio source for the screen share.

I have a Beacn mic with similar DSP built in. It's fine, neutral coloration, good enough for me, but I find myself wanting to process other people more than me 🙂

Anyone with Wave:XLR having issues with their audio output no longer working on it since updating?

Which for my current set up, works fine, I can turn down a fader so I hear it less but the system audio remains unaffected meaning that discord "hears" the untouched system audio, I assume then this is not achievable with wave link?
The trouble is that discord is hooking your system audio at all. Instead of letting you choose the wave link mix you want to use as its source. (Unless you have nitro and then it sometimes gives you different options, or if you stream a device instead of an app or screen, OBS virtual camera can work for that)
So the only workaround is to dip into windows volume mixer and turn down the thing that’s echoing back to the discord users. Just remember to undo that change later.
I saw a huge reduction in latency, after uninstalling, wavelink 2, and re-installing the drivers.

Yes many reports. Suggested to uninstall and reinstall fresh from a download, if you updated in place. Might help even if you didn’t

Glancing through people's messages and searching here, but didn't see my exact issue, which is upon updating, my mic now is incredibly low volume with static.
**Setup: **
- uninstalled wave 2.0, installed 3.0
- disconnected all wires, replugged in, tried different XLR cable
- rebooted pc
- downgraded back to 2.0```
Replacing the XLR cable and downgrading back to 2.0 marginally improved the sound, but still facing a low volume and static feedback. After racking my brain for all sorts cable issues, I'm at a loss. Any ideas?
Did you check any of the OS settings for the mic device? Windows may have turned it down without permission, or enabled some "enhancements" or spatial effects.
I checked for gain, which was normal, I'll have to double check advanced settings for spatial effects
Ok, windows doesn't call it gain, for what that's worth.
open mmsys.cpl which is the legacy sound devices panel. Windows added a new one but didn't fully switch so sometimes things can be found there.
Yeah, Mic In levels register normally and are tied to gain adjustments, so currently at 100 just to make the mic barely audible

Some other app is doing that to your mic. Enable gain lock on the mic to prevent it.

Turning down an output volume would lower the volume overall. This sounds like it's working as expected.

I swear wave cast is going to be the death of me. Everything was working fine, computers turned off because of a power surge and now nothing works.
I've uninstalled wavelink 3 from both computers, wave cast from both computers, removed all drivers and did a fresh install of just wave cast and still no audio. 🤦🏼

Anyone have a duel pc set up that is having problems using wave link and wave cast with the elgato products. I can get it to work but then it glitches out and i end up with no sound.
yes correct that worked. surprised as wave link 2.0 seemed to work fine by plugging a speaker in and it detected new inputs

Trying out Wave Link 3 and noticing some small issues and wondering if anyone else is experiencing the same thing as well.....
I set up my mixes similar to how I had it with the previous version of wave link- Browser, music, games, voice chat, etc.
When I add an application to voice chat, and choose discord. The audio won't come out of that channel, BUT it will come out of music when it's not added there?
I've checked windows sound mixer, and discord sound settings, and both are routed to Voice chat, so unsure where the problem is that's making it route to Music.
Any ideas?
This sounds like a mixed up routing table.
Did you fully remove wl2 including the drivers before installing wl3?
Either way, do so again. Fully uninstall both and then reinstall wl3

As I was saying I usually suggest a reboot when you remove the old versions too, before reinstalling it
Removing 3 is also 2 parts - Wave Link 3 itself and the Driver package for Wave Link 3. You need to remove both

I had to do a full uninstall of Wave Link when I updated from the beta to the stable release. Just ensure you also uninstall the Wave Link Driver. If you go to the settings on Windows and go under apps you can see your programs and uninstall them. Just search Wave and uninstall both. Should solve the issue
