#capture-cards

No, though the macOS USB driver is getting changes on one of the macOS betas (can't recall if it's the 14.6 or the 15 one) that seem to be affecting it again, seemingly mostly fixing it, so we'll see what happens after that comes out. The fact their beta mostly fixes it seems to indicate the issue with the 14.5 change was on Apple's end though.
There's issues with 4K X running in macOS and iPadOS in 10 Gbps mode specifically. There was an updated version of the mac utility released to fix it in 14.4 but the next update in 14.5 broke that. If you're on PC you don't need to worry about it, it won't affect you.
Roger that haha
This looks like a timing issue - try going into 4K Capture Utility and changing the Input EDID mode to Display, under settings in the device tab. The monitor may be wanting 4K120 but getting 4K119 for example, based on what the source prefers. If you change the EDID to display it'll only pass along modes supported explicitly by the monitor's EDID, instead of trying to combine modes from the monitor and card which an fix some timing issues like that. I've also see similar issues if one of the cables being used is only specced for HDMI 2.0, though usually it'll just reject a 4K120 signal entirely in that case since it requires 2.1
Okay last I remember I had it on display, and I’m using two Elgato branded cables that are rated for hdmi 2.1, one that came with the 4kX, and one that came with the 4k pro
When both plugged into the oled directly, it outputs 4k120 fine, it’s only when introduced via hdmi pass through that it does this
There's a couple causes here - first try disabling HDR on the console, as it can wind up with tonemapping effects when the PC Captures it in HDR.
If disabling HDR doesn't change it, check your RGB colour range - both devies need to be either full or limited to get correct image. If the auto detection fails you may have to set this option on your console, or in your capture software to be specifically either full or limited (you may have to try both, but dark usually means you need to switch to full because it's detecting limited but expecting full).
What's the specific model of the monitor, and does the flashing in and out continue if you drop to 4K60?
It does not happen at 60hz, and it’s an lg oled c1 48”
Appreciate you taking the time.
OBS should get audio by default, but if you want to hear it yourself you need to set the audio monitoring for the card in OBS to "Monitor & Output" in the advanced audio settings. If you see the audio meter moving but don't hear it, that's likely what you need to change. If you don't see it moving, try adding the card again as an Audio Input Capture in your sources
Going to take me a minute on this one - LG doesn't seem to list the timing sheets in their manuals.
In the meantime, does anything change if you have the EDID set to Internal mode instead (with default in the bottom option)?
What capture card are you using specifically? If you're using one of the HDMI 2.0 ones, in passthrough, this is expected as HDMI 2.0 will cap 1440p at 144Hz generally. If you're using it in cloned mode, make sure you're cloning your display to the card and not the card to the display - playing in Borderless windowed mode can also resolve some potential issues in cloned mode.
I’m currently at work, but off the top of my head from last night I believe internal makes the screen say “invalid format” and merged just says “no signal”
It might be worth checking if your card has the latest firmware when you get home as well. You can check that in 4K Capture Utility under the settings in the device tab. latest is 24.05.31 - if you've got one of the ones starting with 23, update 4K Capture Utility and then you should have an update firmware option there.
I did 😭 I updated it to the most recent one last night 🫠
What’s odd is it worked several months ago when I was testing it, and I put it down for a minute, came back to it last night and now it’s doing this which is why I’m perplexed haha
Might even be worth trying it in a different HDMI jack in the TV if it has one - I know some of those are HDMI 2.1 only on specific ports.
I used to have issues with my old roommates TV not liking some formats unless it was specificially on HDMI 1 port. So if it worked before maybe it was in a different jack then?
Disabling G-Sync might help too - though that generally doesn't affect anything when you're not gaming iirc.
Yeah I’ll give that a shot. I’m pretty sure it’s in hdmi one currently, but doesn’t hurt to recheck
Worth a shot
Haven't forgotten, but Crowdstrike outage sadly ruined my weekend plans for testing stuff. I had that, as well as some camera effects stuff on the list of things I had to test for people. I'll see if I can get to it there in a bit
Well I need the monitor on cause I'm streaming only to my friends on disc and I thought u needed it on idk there's probably another way idk about but even when I put monitor no sound comes out. And I try putting the card as audio input over and over again and it doesn't work. The meter doesn't move either
To confirm, you're trying to capture the iPad on another device, and not using the iPad with the new capture app to capture another device on the iPad right? iPad output formats get a bit wonky, though they usually just have odd resolutions, I'm not overly familiar with them cutting out like that. Does the setup work as expected if you connect it directly to a TV or something? We'd want to rule out that it's not an issue with the adapter or iPad itself, since you've already gone through two capture cards.
If the meter isn't moving it's a different story. You say it's working in Game Capture HD app though, right?
And the card was added to OBS as a Video Capture Device, not a Window Capture of Game Capture, right?
Yeah it works there but not obs for some reason. And hmm when I bring up the capture device the window does pop up and that's the only way it comes up. It doesn't give me any other options on obs
I just wanted to be sure you weren't trying to window or game capture it, but were using it directly with Video Capture Device.
Next thing to check is Windows Audio Settings if nothing is moving - press Windows Key + R, and type mmsys.cpl and press ok. Go to the recording tab, find the capture card and go to properties. In there make sure it's turned up and not muted in Levels - if that's fine, go to the advanced tab and remove the option that allows applications to take exclusive control, then press ok and restart - it's possible something else is holding up control of the audio on the card and preventing OBS from getting the audio feed.
If it's still not cooperating, make sure you have the latest drivers for the card from https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961152-Elgato-Gaming-Hardware-Drivers
What capture card do you have specifically? If it's one of the older models, make sure you have installed the drivers for it (available https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961152-Elgato-Gaming-Hardware-Drivers ). Only the newer external cards don't need the drivers installed first.
Ill test all this rnn. Also thank u very much for trying to help me n everyone else here. U are amazing.
I got the drivers and did all that and still nothing
Happen to have an OBS log you've uploaded through the help menu, from a session with a test recording? Can help narrow down what's going on there. If hte video is working the audio should be the easy part usually.
You might also have to go into properties for the card and make sure it's set to audio capture only
But is there still no motion on the audio meter for the card specifically?
Hey is someone able to help me im trying out my new elgato 4k x and the resolutions are exactly the same but there is black bars on obs
What are you trying to capture and what resolutions are you actually trying to work with?
Also are you capturing the card directly with Video Capture Device in your source?
You don't want to Window Capture 4K Capture Utility if you're getting bars
4k60 pro
That's a HDMI 2.0 capture card, it can't pass through 1440p above 144Hz. Are you using the card in passthrough, where you pass the HDMI into the card and connect the monitor to the HDMI Out of the card?
If you're using it in passthrough, try plugging the card into HDMI on it's own, and the monitor on it's own, and clone the monitor to the card instead. The GPU will handle the differing refresh rates
I have a 7900xtx I’m using the display cable to my main monitor, hdmi is going to the elgato capture in my streaming pc I have cloned the displays as duplicates in windows.
Make sure they're cloned in the right order - if you cloned the card to the monitor instead it'll get capped out at the card's max, instead of the monitor's. Also when cloning I recommend using fullscreen borderless instead of fullscreen because some game engines handle cloning weirdly.
Drop it in here, in case I'm not around one of the other volunteers may be able to help as well
Hello!
Somehow, the "Hdmi In" port on my Elgato 4k60s+ stopped working no matter what devices I connect to it:
- same hdmi cord works for other devices
- I used two different Capture cards with the same setup and did not have any issues.
any way i can fix this? ^
have you updated your bios/drivers?
how do I do that
check your mobo manufacturer's support page.
Sorry I did update it on Geforce Experience
i mean your bios./drivers though. could be a usb thing.
Does the card work for recording in Standalone Mode? Or are you using it with PC only? What lights are on it when you have something connected. Also 4K60 S+ only supports signals at 60hz - make sure none of your devices are trying to drive it at higher.
Also when using borderless window in windows 11 turn on windowed optimizations. For games that support flip model presentation it will use that instead of the old bit model. Cuts some of the latency off
@past basin once thing i did find out , at least with the 4k60 mk.2 using DP to HDMI only allows 60hz mode.... When I did all that cable testing. Im only leaving this hear for ya case someone else decides to go down that rabbit hole lol
Hi! I just got an HD60X and downloaded the 4K capture program. my drivers are updated too. When i play a game through the capture program, it works flawlessly. However, when i try to use my capture card through OBS, the gameplay freezes or doesnt even show up on OBS after a few seconds. it also has issues if my webcam is on the same screen with my capture card on obs as it doesnt allow my cam to be shown at all. Ive been really wanting to play through obs for awhile now. any help is appreciated
Are you only using OBS or have 4k capture utility open as well? Only 1 app at a time can use the capture card.
Only obs
Wanted to report back that we were in HDMI 1 the whole time so rip lmao
Are you using a usb 3.0 port?
What are the different refresh rate passthrus for the different cap cards.
I have a hd60+ S and I don’t think it passes 120 htz thru, and I want to upgrade my monitor to something a little better for FPS’s and also have the ability to do 4K stuff soon
There’s a matrix on the support site for newer cards. Idk about HD60X’s though.
Ok I’ll go check out the matrix. I’m upgrading cards and need to find the right one
HD60 S+ and 4K60 S+ were the last two I know of with no high refresh rate support at all
Yes

Adpater? What are you trying to connect, what card are you using? Are you talking about a hub or something?
For a capture card?
Anyone have any idea why the audio doesnt trasnfer over to my streaming softwares or ny conputer? i have an hd60 x and ps5, I also have chat link pro and still it wont work..
someone help im so lost
what card do you have?
hd60 s
mac or pc?
pc
try this and reboot, remove the usb first, also make sure it's official cables, and make sure they aren't bad acables either. https://streamdecklabs.com/🧯-how-to-disable-windows-10-11s-usb-selective-suspend-setting/

Did you set your HD60 X to Analog audio mode using the 4K Capture Utility settings after you connected the Chat Link?
ALR
im ready to troubleshoot this jank set up again LOL
Arcsane, or Vic if yall got some spare time to shoot the breeze and juggle some ideas thatd be swell, otherwise ill just vent my troubleshootings until someone hops in haha
i'm a bit lost a lot of convos pass thorugh. can you give me a run down?
sure, TLDR: dual pc, screen flickers at 4K120, not at 4K60. 4kx capture card, both HDMI cables are elgato brand, and im using 10gb/s usb c port. screen in question is LG Oled C1 48"
EDID is set to display, not to internal or merged and im not sure whats causing the flickering
lemme ping the video, i can show what i gave a brief example of
here
does your display have DSC? Display Stream Compression (DSC)
4K X does not support the capture of video signals utilizing Display Stream Compression (DSC).
Early HDMI 2.1 monitors used DSC for higher resolution and frame rate capability. For example, monitors may use DSC to achieve 4K144Hz, while 4K120Hz does not use DSC.
If the passthrough is to a TV or monitor is working, but the captured video is black, DSC may be active.
Please try a lower resolution and/or frame rate.
as far as i know it does not use DSC
is your setup routed this way minus the audio via sound capture? https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360049800232-PC-Game-Recording-with-Elgato-Game-Capture-4K60-Pro-MK-2-Setup
No, its using the 4KX's HDMI passthrough, not cloning.
try it via duplicating/cloning and see if that fixes it.
Ok,this wont be a viable solution long term because duplicating 4k120 will be too taxing on my GPU, but for testing purposes I will try it
i don't think it should be taxing on a GPU, as one GPU is in your Gaming rig, and the other is in your streaming rig. the streaming should be able to handle the load.
the gaming shouldn't have any impact.
really? as far as im aware duplicating an output will impact fps? i may be mistaken tho
let's test it before we come to that conclusion.
yeyeye
gimme just a few mins haha
plot twist, cant duplicate. my 3080 only has 1 hdmi, and 3 displayports lmao
but what makes no sense is, HDMI directly to the tv can do 4k120 perfectly fine. but introduce the 4kx and nothing. just black or flickering
i has to be a bandwidth thing. I just set it to 1440P120, and its running perfectly fine. No flickering or black banding.
I think I need to set up a ticket with tech support
Is there a dedicated spot for a 4KX driver? or is that considered a UVC device? Im on this page
https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961152-Elgato-Gaming-Hardware-Drivers
and dont see a listing for 4KX drivers?
UVC, but that's odd you can't duplicate it.
I’d need an hdmi to DisplayPort cable, that is specifically 48gb/s compliant to potentially replicate it correctly and tbh Best Buy is not getting my money for that LOL I’d have to order it on Amazon. I just filed the ticket. We will see what they say. Appreciate the help as always
There a link above in a response. Sorry was working on stuff.
im trynna set my capture card up again, i plug it in and it doesnt read as plugged in, but i unplug my console and it starts saying it's plugged in, but i replug my console, and there's no audio or video, idk what to do
by reboot, you mean restart PC? Ive done that step before but never restarted my pc
on OBS my Wii U capture freezes periodically. Not sure if inactivity is related to it or not. (please ping when/if you respond)
Yes reboot your pc
Make sure in is connected to your console and out is connected to your gaming monitor or gaming TV
Can you list your capture card if you’re using a Mac or PC on Windows if you’re connected to a USB 3.0 port or up to a 3.2 General port
now i cant hear the audio for some reason
are you using chatlink?
no i dont use anything outside of OBS
are you connected to a usb 3.0 port or is it a pcie card, you haven't really specified what card you're using.
HD60 S
ive been using a USB C to C cable that got reccomended to me by elgato tech support
yeah usb 3.0 is the port you want to use.
the c to c cable has been working for me previously
is it a data cable or or a charging cable there is a major difference.
try this and reboot your pc. https://streamdecklabs.com/🧯-how-to-disable-windows-10-11s-usb-selective-suspend-setting/

i think my pc might be trolling cuz im doing everything right and im not able to finish it
is there another way?
these are the only ones I can think of. Did you change anything?
i didnt no
did you reboot your pc?
HD60X. Windows Desktop. I'm pretty sure the capture card is connected to usb 3.0 but I'll send a pic
i need help setting up my audio
is this usb-c?
I didn't buy this desktop so I'm not sure about the port.
can someone help me with audio idk how to get audio from my gaming pc to my streaming pc
do you have sound capture installed, or wave link?
unplug, anf take a pic please.
do i need to install it on my gaming or streaming ?
cause i got it installed on both
do you have a wave link device? or no?
that's correct, but do you have the same blue ports on the back of your pc?
no
I think so but it doesn’t look as blue
ok if you install game capture on your gaming pc, you can install sound capture and route the audio, or do this on your streaming pc.
i have a mixer
im so confused rn
usually the back side should have usb ports. try the first usb 3.0 port on the top.
oh, ok I was unaware. can you list more details about your setup please.
Streaming PC
Gaming PC
HD60 S
Shure SM7B xlr Mic
Mixer
what mixer?
im getting my goxlr mini tmro but rn im working with AIR 192|4 M-Audio
let's hold off until your goxlr mini comes in 🙂

so i cant do anything with my mixer rn
?
you can, but I'm not familiar with this one.
I'm researching it.
okay
so one of 2 things... the capture card is hdmi or analog audio depending on settings. how are you setting that part up?
ok, but what I'm asking is how are you getting about your capture card. right now i'm not worried about audio. i'm trying to figure out how your capture card is connecting to this mixer.
i already got everything connected
and working
i just need help
on the audio part
right, but how is the card connected to the mixer?
idk how to do that
it sounds like your audio isn't going through the mixer but over hdmi. so on your streaming pc, audio should be either installing elgato's game capture on your gaming pc, you can install sound capture and route the audio, or do this on your streaming pc. as this isn't going through your mixer. unless you're routing a line from your gaming pc to your streaming pc via the mixer. thing is I'm not sure where your line in is on this mixer.
okay ima do it rn
oh
wow
they said a no no word
yeah, Staff was on it.
well I saw someone typing as me, and they got banned
it's ok, let's go bleach our eyes.
so let's exclude the mixer for a min, and try routing audio over the card first.
okay
so i do this on my streaming pc
?
cause all my audio and mic is connected to my gaming pc
yes
streaming pc
okay
okay i did that on my streaming pc
ok let's see if you can hear anything?
tried again today. same issue. it even messed up with my camera again. last time this happened, my audio settings were messed up as a result too.
I can help in about 2 hours.
i havent
audio might come back later on a whim tho the audio works on the elgato programs from what i saw
just not on OBS which is what i use regularly
is it the official elgato cable you’re using?
Did you have any windows updates?
So I'm having an issue with my capture card Neo
It's not getting signal, it's conned to my ipad
I'm using a usb-c to a usb-a adapter
Anyone know why my HD 60 is flashing red it’s worked before but when I’ve gone to use it recently it’s been flashing red and showing no signal
no it was a separate one reccomended by someone from elgato tech support
Are you doing usb-c to usb-c? Try the official cable for now.
Is your USB-A to USB-C adapter rated for 5 Gbps? A lot of those focus on connecting for chargers and are only usb 2.0 (480 Mbps). If the adapter is too slow it'll drop the connection speed and it wont' handle video
just manually checked for any and all windows 10 and driver updates. (I dont want to use windows 11 since i had tons of issues when using the service last time). up to date now
Yes it is, I've even returned the capture card and got a different one same issue
What model is the iPad, and what lights if any are on the Neo?
This is what it's showing, I'm Also not able to change the video quality for the capture card, I am getting pass through I can see my Xbox screen menu on the monitor itself
It's an iPad 10th generation with iOS 17
Oh, that image comes from the card, so connection to the iPad is good. It isn't liking the signal from the console most likely. What resolution is the Xbox set to?
And do you have a mac or PC on hand if you have to update the 's firmware?
My resolution from my console is set to 1440p refresh rate at 60hz
In advance video settings I have allow 4k, Allow hdr10 & allow Auto HDR all those are checked to be on
This for a series X
I have a Chromebook I don't think that would help me as far as getting a firmware update
1440p60 should work with the Neo. It'll convert the HDR to SDR for capture so that should be fine. Maybe try turning off Variable Refresh Rate if that's set in the Xbox video modes.
The fact passthrough to your monitor is working indicates the HDMI cable is good too - if you'd had a PC or Mac we could try to change the EDID input mode for ther card, but I don't believe that's available for the iPad app.
Does anything change if you set the Xbox down to 1080p instead?
My variable refresh rate is on but I don't have the option to turn it off
And nothing changes when I change the video resolution on the Xbox
This is what it's showing, I'm Also not able to change the video quality for the capture card, I am getting pass through I can see my Xbox screen menu on the monitor itself
Yeah, this sounds like an EDID problem, but we can't adjust that without a PC or Mac to run the appropriate app I think. I'm assuming you don't get anything in the app that says EDID?
What happens if you remove the external display and then disconnect the card from the Xbox and reconnect it? That should add least confirm if it's an EDID by issue since it won't get the monitor edid anymore
Nothing happens just keeps saying the same thing
how do you have your OBS configured, and what GPU do you use.
Anyone having BSOD issues with their 4k60 mk.2 capture cards? I just had 2 of them today, Bluescreenviewer linked both back to SC0710.x64.sys, which is the Custom Broadcast Driver Architecture & AVStream Minidriver AKA 4k60 capture card. Im assuming its a faulty driver? I have these about every few months and I get the same roll back or update the driver from support, so im seeing if anyone else has the same problem.
UHHH (i have no idea how to check on the obs configurations)
it's a little late for me to talk on vc, but I have a guide. https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/guides/broadcasting-guide/
no worries! i'll look this over when i can and get back to you! thank you for all the help nonetheless! youve been super helpful! get lots of rest!
I have a few of these
and they work
Check them out if ya like as well ^^^
I don't think that type of adapter would help, the one I got is a usb-c to usb-a the cable the capture card came with is a usb-a to usb-c I hope that makes sense
thats for if you say have a usb c to usb c cable say you lost your origional one you could just get a 10gbit c to c and stick that n there
or if you had one already
cause c to c is eaiser to find sometimes
example my usb capture card i lost the cable but I had a 10gbit usb c to usb c cable and had no actual usb c ports on the system at the time that worked just fine
So when I have my elgato plugged in it sounds good on stream. However, on OBS when I plug my headphones in the audio in output is a little delayed. Is there any way to fix this?
heyy i got a elgato neo capture card for my switch but when i start obs it says elgato no signal. does someone know how i can fix this issue?
Does anyone know where/if the 4k pro shows up in device manager. Trying to troubleshoot because it randomly stopped detecting in OBS and the 4k capture utility
just got the 4k pro (used to have the HD60s) and I want to control the game audio with my GOXLR like I could before - I used a HDMI audio extractor to patch the audio into the GoXLR but doing the same with the 4k Pro doesnt work!
Any help?
Nvm did a system restore and it’s fine
Would a thunderbolt c to c work ?
If it's TB3 or 4, yes.
How is it connected? Is the audio extractor a HDMI 2.1 extractor? What resolutions and refresh rates are you trying to work with?
And what specifically isn't working - audio only? or is the extractor interfering with video?
output from 4k pro into extractor, the extractor has a pass-through put nothing is coming from it, no audio or video - not an issue with the HD60s.
No idea if it's 2.1 or not but can go up to 4k.
Resolutions are 720p and 1080p - a PS5 and a SNES mini
No audio out of the extractor, nothing at all.
I just want to have control over the audio via my GoXLR, used to have set to a fader when using the HD60s
If it's 4K the extractor might only be HDMI 2.0 - but if you're only working with 1080p that should be more than enough. What happens if you move the extractor between the 4K Pro and the console instead of after it? That should at least narrow down if it's not liking the output from the capture card for some reason. Other than that make sure he consoles are outputing in stereo, not Dolby encoding or multichannel - it's possible the newer card is letting the systems detect different formats of audio.
Ill try setting it before the 4k pro, but i remember i moved to after for some reason, will see.
Sound settings are all normal, just stereo nothing else
Thats seems to have solved the audio issue i had thanks!
can you help with one other issue - I notice that in SLOBS, changing settings is slow to respond. that normal?
Which settings?
Can't say I've used Streamlabs recently but I'm familiar with OBS. Most settings should switch over within one or two seconds
any under settings for video capture - takes a while to open, change anything really.
Not sure offhand - I went with the 4K X myself which might work a bit differently. I assume you're using the card directly as a video capture device and not window capturing 4K Capture Utility or something? That would cause some slowdown of you're running it though 4K utility first
directly yes
i feel i should have gone with the 4k x
How long is a while? If it's only a couple seconds it's probably just the app polling all the cards modes
probably the polling then
I know mine can take 4-5 or so, and 4K Pro supports even more modes, plus has a dedicated driver instead of UVC modes
ah ok, well if its normal i dont mind
Yeah, if it's short probably just polling and the card switching modes. I don't have a one of that model on hand to test myself though
and is there supposed to be a way to control audio via a goxlr, or is the audio extractor my only option?
as going through windows settings screws up the audio, pitching it up an octave, many instances of 4kpro start to appear in sound settings.
I'm not overly familiar with the GoXLR myself - but I believe it has virtual audio channels in the app. Will it let you assign the 4K Pro's HDMI audio to one of those?
If so just mute the card in SL, then add the virtual audio channel in as an audio input capture
yeah doing that makes the audio pitch up and glitch out
Even though the GoXLR app? Weird. Maybe check that your 4K Pro has the latest drivers https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360027961152-Elgato-Gaming-Hardware-Drivers
I'd also try it in 4K Capture Utility to see if it's okay there
yeah drivers and firmware is all uptodate
And maybe remove the extractor when testing it that way to make sure it doesn't interfere
I did remove it too
If it still acts up with the audio after that maybe check if Windows audio enhancements are on anywhere. Those can cause some weird issues
they're off too
If i send it to my yamaha mixer the audio is fine'
Through windows routing or though the extractor?
through windows
the extractor is working too, but i have that separated. just would be good to streamline my setup.
oh wait - it is the audio from 4k capture! So how do i get audio without that?
I may have solved the issue!
Ah, sorry had to step away a bit for work - hopefully what you've figured out there is working.
(If you wind up not getting audio you can hear in SL, set the audio monitor options to Monitor & Output btw - by default OSB And SL add sources to output only in case you already hear it, ouput goes to stream and recording only, and monitor to you, so not uncommon to have to flip that setting in the advanced audio settings)
Was wondering if the 4K X can do single PC setup? I've tried this but it lags a lot when I'm playing a game like Counter Strike 2, however when I'm not playing a game such as watching videos there's no lag. Am I doing something wrong or isn't possible?
There's not really a benefit to a single PC capture card setup. They only give you a HDMI input, which makes them useful for adding in stuff like consoles and cameras, or even sending video from one PC to another to be encoded - but there's no performance advantage over software capture like OBS Studio's Game Capture, as your CPU and/or GPU still have to do the encoding.
You should be able to do it if you wanted to though - though it sounds like you might be hitting issues where your GPU is getting capped. Do you only get the lag when you're actually recording or streaming? If so the GPU is probably capping out.
Sorry let me clarify my actual game wasn't lagging, the recording, the actual video is very laggy. I have a 4070, I think it's pretty descent GPU, Is it still possible that it's capping out?
What app are you using to record and what are your recording settings at?
If it's only the recording odds are there's an issue with the encoding configuration
I was using the Elgato 4K Capture Utility to record. Source: 1440p144 and recording format 1080p60
Is there a solution to the stream audio being fine but when I plug in headphones and listen to it in output it delays over time?
Theoretically if the new 4k pro was built ground up vs using old one as base could it pass 4k240 and capture 4k60 hdr?
I wonder if it's cus dsc it doesn't capture
Sorry, got called away. How are you outputting to the capture card, since you mentioned this is a single PC setup - are you cloning the main monitor or are you running through the HDMI in and hooking your monitor to the HDMI out? If you're experiencing stutter in games on a setup like that you might also want to test with VRR / G-Sync disabled in the games.
Thank you so much. Turning off VRR did the trick, but now sometimes there's screen tearing in the recording, not in game. Any idea on how to fix this issue?
try the EDID in Display, or Internal mode.
@warped ledge are you able to help with problems on stream deck?
Let’s move this to #stream-deck and I’ll see what I can do.
Thanks Arcsane
Is there like a reason elgato can't capture dsc is it cause of how dsc works or is coded and elgato physically can't make it work or is it like just a lot of extra work
yes but theres like an echo of barely any audio on my stream when i test it.. Could you or someone walk me through how it should be set up so audio works properly?
okay I'm kinda pissed hahaha
The other day (maybe like a week ago?) I came in and requested help with my capture card dropping audio, and I followed the steps provided to update it and it started working again. Now, it's back to dropping audio. I updated the software last time, and it doesn't appear as though there's another update (1.7.13). Got any more tips?
This time I have a video highlighting the issue, as it was requested last time
I also have my 2 most recent videos with similar audio issues for further bits
Gonna give it a try I got a thunderbolt 4 c-c
That is usually a sign that noise cancellation is turned on in your operating system? Are you on mac or PC?
Assuming PC, try disabling Windows Audio Enhancements. Three places to check:
1 - Press start, go to settings, system, sound, and find your capture card. Go into it and check towards the bottom of the options to see if there's any mention of Audio Enhancements or Spatial Sound, and if there is - turn them off.
2- Press Windows Key + R, type mmsys.cpl and press OK. Go to recording tab, find your capture card and go to properties. Check for Enhancement or Spatial Sound tabs - if there are any, turn the options in there off.
3- Same place as above, but under Advanced, make sure there's no spatial sound or audio enhancements are are listed - if there are, uncheck them.
After this press OK, and if there's no change try rebooting to make sure the changes take effect.
does the elgato neo cc obly work with the cord it comes with
Hello, I have a problem with my El Gato 4KX capture device in OBS. I have a MacBook Air M1 with 8GB of RAM. It simply does not capture the audio in OBS. I use Meld studio to transmit and it works perfectly. some help?
Hiiii sorry i havent had wifi the past days needed to get it fixed, but audio still doesnt work... i dont know how to do thjose things u said either tbhhh
having tjis exact problem
I have same issue, but I'm using an iPad , I get passthrough but the no signal message on the iPad, I've gone through so many cables and adapters including a thunderbolt cable and nothing seems to work.. only thing I noticed is that the 10gen iPad isn't on their list that's compatible but I see older generations on there I don't see my iPad being the issue either.
Is yours a Neo as well ?
Hey yes im on pc and I just tried all those things and I dont think theres and fix so far.. Im just really confused because the old elgato capture card i had for ps4 worked easily with my pc and it was understandable (i suck w pc tech). Am i missing something big here like I have a alienwar pc with a believe a i5 mayb i7 runs decent. Its literally just the audio that wont work for me and its so irritating lmao
yup
i think u can only use the cord it comes with sadly
Windows is picky with cloned setup order, especially if you're gaming in fullscreen. You may have accidentally cloned the capture card to the monitor instead of the other way around which could cause issues. You can go back and try the cloning setup again - if say cloning screen 1 to screen 2 doesn't work, try cloning screen 2 to screen 1 instead. That should get the monitor to list instead of the card and the GPU can sort out the differences after that
That's what I've been told, but you can use an adapter if you plan on using an iPad, sadly I've tried every adapter at Best Buy and none of them worked for it. I'm gonna return mine for the second time lol
I don't think your issue is going to get resolved with a hardware swap - it still sounds like an EDID issue, but that can't yet be set from the iPad app as far as I'm aware. Do you have a friend with a PC or Mac you can borrow to run the app you need to change the EDID setting on the card? Ideally try setting EDID input mode to Internal since it's the capture card not getting signal. The same app would let you run a firmware update on the card which may also resolve the issue.
If what Vic suggested didn't help, chec your refresh rate. You want a refresh rate that divides into whatever FPS you're capturing by whole numbers. Eg 60 and 60 (1:1), or 120 and 60 (2:1). If you try to game at 144 and capture at 60 fps (2.4:1), you'll get tearing because every few frames it'll generate the next frame while it's still partway through a refresh cycle for the video signal. If you're already using that, try enabling v-sync if the game has it.
Should work with any cable ending in a USB Type-C connector that's at least 5 Gbps / USB 3.0 or faster. Try to avoid any adapters that might drop it down to USB 2.0 speed - many USB-A to USB-C adapters will do that, if you need an adapter make sure it's 5 Gbps, but ideally swap the whole cable if it's an option to be safe).
(Some Neo products have integrated cables, which might be why you're getting mixed answers on that, but the capture card isn't one of them)
Did you add the capture card again to the OBS Sources as an Audio Capture Device? Mac can't pull the audio thorugh the video feed on OBS like it does on Windows (I think because the card uses DirectShow), so you have to add it twice - once as a video capture and once as audio input capture
Yes, settings -> audio -> select capture 4k x right?
It's weird cus their websites says plug and play what gives, kinda just throwing my hands up at this point, and no I don't but what app are you talking about to be precise ?
I'd usually as it as it's own source. Letting OBS add it though the audio like that can sometimes not work as expected
Also if this helps I tried my ps5 and still the same thing lol
That does rule out some things. If you use it with the ps5 and manually turn off VRR, 120 Hz mode and set it to 1080p does anything change? Or if you run the 1440p test mode on the PS5?
I can't recall if I checked but you're using either a USB type c to c cable above 5 Gbps, or a USB-A to C adapter above that with teh card right?
To clarify I'd add it the way they add the HD60 X here at the 37 second mark. https://youtu.be/27fYbUln-Vg?si=y-CLlIZ2awsJ99MD&t=37
In this video we show you how to set up your Game Capture HD60 X with OBS Studio on Windows and macOS.

Thanks!
Thanks!
Yeah I manually turned off that setting on both the Xbox and ps5, I tried a usb-c to usb-a 3.0 adapter speeds of 5Gbps tried a thunder bolt cable which was a c to c speeds of 40 Gbps no luck not sure what to do at this point
You tried it with no monitor in the output and after uplugging it disconnecting and reconnecting the console HDMI too yesterday, right?
(It's been a long day, I'm losing track of who's tested what sorry)
The fact it's not working solo with the PS5 is what's throwing me - Xbox I've seen be picky with the signal, but the PS5 is usually more compatible, especially if you run the 1440p tests from the video menus 😦
Ideally I'd like to get that card on the latest firmware but no ETA on when (or even if) that feature will make it into the iPad app
The app would be 4K Capture Utility for PC users though, and Capture Device Utility for mac users, if you can find someone free who can let you borrow a PC for the update
I did it multiple times and doesn’t works😪 I don’t know what’s happening
Yeah I've tried plugging unplugging, I'm going to see if I can get a hold of someone with a pc
Make sure your mac's mix mode isn't set to voice isolation
Ok ok i’ll check tomorrow thanks, something happened similar with the blur, the blur on the camera works on the capture too🤦🏻♂️
Am i right to think a PCIE X2 slot isn't the best for the 4K Pro, and might be why I'm getting some audio glitches???
Hey bro! Thanks you, i did it and works fine 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Thanks you!
That could very well do it. Official requirement is a x4 slot - running under that can get you bandwidth issues which can include cut video and audio problems
Glad you got it working Cubi
Did you figure it out ?
@past basin so i think i figured out my issue my 10th gen iPad usbc port is only a 2.0 (up to 480 Mbit/s)
Only ones that have a data port with a 3.0 of speeds 10gbs is the iPad mini 6th gen and iPad Air
Ah, that would indeed do it
Going to return it and get a mini 6 or air so fingers crossed, funny because the light on the Neo won't stay solid it kinda flickers
@past basin this would work
@past basin update switched iPads and got an iPad Air with a usbc 3.0 and it worked... so issue was the iPad model the entire time
this is good to know.
Yes, that should work.
Thank you for those who chimed in and tried to help 😀
ok so i upgraded the motherboard (ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING) and still getting the audio glitch - it's using a PCIE x16 slot now.
4k pro
Can someone help me please my i bought the ELGATO 4KPRO and i got around 50ms delay how to reduce it
Main pc config : 4090 13900K z790
Second pc with capture card : 6950XT 14700 z790
I have some problems with my HD60X, there is no sound. I did everything YouTube said with an new Mic/Aux 2, Audio Monitoring, set it to Monitor Only ect. Still nothing.
I updated to MacOS 14.6 yesterday and the 10gbps issue for the 4K X is still occurring for me. Just wondering if anyone else still has the same problem after updating.
what are the settings you have in obs?
revert to 5gbps and see if it works, i think 10gbps is still being worked on.
the settings dont even show up.
odd, i have 0 latency with this card. what are your obs settings?
let me pull it up and ill send a screenshot shortkly
I don’t use obs only the preview 4k utility app
ok are you using flashback rec?
I don’t record I use it only to monitor my second pc
Mine looks like this and 0 latency. let me know if that works for you.
Same still latency
around 50ms
are you using a single display or dual? as it's suggested to use 2. the output will prevent you from having a delay as the software can monitor it, but if you're having latency it's still good to have a 2nd screen for this reason alone.
Only 1 display
Capture card installed into main pc with hdmi cable plugged into input capture card port to second pc gpu hdmi port
do you have a tv, or something you could use as a 2nd monitor?
@warped ledge
are you using a 3.0 port or thunderbolt port?
I could use my 2k monitor the thing is that I don’t want to use second monitor cause I want to play in 4k240hz
can you switch it to where your 2k is your streaming pc's monitor and gaming the one you're using?
what's the framerate it lets you select?
Gaming is the one I preview and got delay second pc the one with the capture card installed on it
I'll be back, i have to go
oh.
Does it let you choose 60?
I understand, but what I’m asking is if you could use your 2k monitor on your streaming pc, and 4k on your gaming?
Well I don’t want to use 2 monitors
Can you do any desk by any chance ?
Cause if I do I wont have 4k240hz
Yep. I've already reverted back to 5gbps. I was just curious if anyone else had updated to 14.6 and got 10gbps working.
A few have reported this.
I see that it would would do a passthrough
I've seen a couple people report that it's been kinda working in 10 Gbps mode. It works sometimes and not others.
(on 14.6)
Any desk? What is that?
So I would get preview in 4k240hz even I use another monitor whos like 1k360 ?
Anydesk to show you in remote
I use discord, anything that is a platform other makes me sus of scammers
I can do discord sharing screen if it’s okay for you
I really need to fix my issue 😦
I’m currently mobile running errands.
Roomie is driving
Tell me when you have time
What are you calling 1K? The ones I'm familair with are 2K (1920x1080), 2.5K (2560x1440), 4K and 8K. 1K would be closet to 1280x720?
Preview is captured video - you won't get that in 4K240 anyway. You can get Passthrough to another monitor at that though.
I did I plugged the capture card well btw ?
Only 1 display
Capture card installed into main pc with hdmi cable plugged into input capture card port to second pc gpu hdmi port
Thanks, it’s gonna be a while!

1k is 1080p 2k is 1440p 4k is 2160p
I don’t need to record only to preview
And preview got 50ms delay
1080p is 2k. 1440p is 2.5k. You go by horizontal pixel count, not vertical. Marketers have started calling 1440p 2K incorrectly, since it's already established as 2.5k, so I will also take 2K as 1440p
I know but everyone calls it like that
Yes but if you're talking tech specs, ignore the marketing and use the actual term so you don't trip people up. Ideally I usually just use the xxxxp listing to keep it clear.
Either way, no, if your monitor in passthrough is only 1080p, your signal going into the card is going to get capped at 1080p
I want my preview to have 0 delay or at least lower than 50ms
Avoid using MJPEG then, and possibly HDR depending on the setup. Ideally use HDMI passthrough to avoid the latency from video prorcessing entirely by letting it connect to a secondary display.
What card do you have? Most of the new ones are down around 30-40ms preview latency in OBS
I have 4kpro
Only 1 display
Capture card installed into main pc with hdmi cable plugged into input capture card port to second pc gpu hdmi port
i dont use obs only 4K capture utility
You may get better performance and latency on OBS (or StreamLabs) on some systems. I tend to use OBS with it's fullscreen projector mode if I need to play through a capture card
it works the same as 4Kutlity ?
and i will still have 240hz ?
or more
It can - it does a lot more too, just more complex to setup
do i need to install obs on both pcs ?
4K Capture Utility does not support High Refresh Rates, so if you need 240 OBS will probably work better
Just the streaming PC
or recording PC. Whatever it's used for
4K cpature utility support 240hz
i will try with obs
Support is on record confirming it does not. There's notes in the 4K Pro specs pages about needing to use third party apps for some modes for that reason
It'll take a 240 signal
im talking about preview not reccodinrg
I would have to double check the preview but I believe it's still backed by the same engine, simlar to how the preview screen couldn't do HDR
even though you could record in HDR
exemple here
i bought capture card cause faceit block obs parsec ect and you cant stream your gameplay since i stream for my friends on discord
That's your source signal, not what's on screen. You'd have to frame count from a screen recording like OBS to be sure
do you have tutorial for that ? and for obs preview
Not for the frame counting, I haven't done that since my last PC so I'm not even setup for it here
What are you looking for for OBS Preview? The fullscreen projector? Just right click the capture card in the sources list and go to Projector (Fullscreen)
Try updating the OBS Canvas to 240 fps. In settings under video
ok thank you
You may have to set it to integer fps and type in 240 - it won't show in the common options iirc
Also I should have said fractional, not integer sorry
yes
Noice
Glad to hear it sounds like it's working there now
yeah do you know how to get sound ?
Yes, but there's a couple ways. This is dual PC setup right?
yes
First hiccup is usually splitting the audio on the gaming PC then. Are you listening with speakers or headset on the gaming PC or are you okay with just getting the audio on the streaming PC?
Ok, I assume it's on the gaming PC? Do you need the mic on that headset to get carried to the streaming PC, or do you have a dedicated mic over there?
no its on my second pc
i want to have sound on gaming pc with headset plugged into second pc
Okay to clear that up - you need to hear on both of them, or do you just need the audio to come out of the second PC?
On the gaming PC change the default audio device to the capture card if you haven't already. Then in OBS on the second PC, go into the advanced audio settings (gear icon on the mixer panel) and set the capture card to Monitor & Output on the audio monitoring setting
Wrong audio panel. One sec
Gear on this panel, or you can open the advanced audio from the menu under Edit
Should get a popup like this
OBS adds new audio with audio monitor off in case you already hear it somewhere. Monitor is what you hear, output is what goes into your recordings and streams, so set the Video Capture Device to Monitor and Output there an you should be able to hear it
No problem! Glad we got it sorted out
I know you just got finished with helping someone else out, but could you spare another minute haha
Yeah I've got a few minutes free, while I'm on lunch from work 🙂
I did your suggestion and it did work for about a week, but then it returned whilst I was doing a stream, and now it's back. I tried replicating the steps provided but this time it just prompts me that my device is up to date, and there's no show of improvement this time. Any suggestion would help.
Huh. It's not even constant. Does this happen regardless of what app you're using?
And what are the odds it only happens if you use it with the Switch?
I can check with another console in a moment, lemme go through
Fwiw, the recording was on Wii U
Noted. My Wii U isn't hooked up, but I can fire it up later to compare if I need to.
and to activate the mic ?
LMAO I just checked my switch, it's even goofier
hold on
it should upload momentarily
Mic is on the second PC right? You can either set it up in the audio settings as the mic there, or you can add it as an Audio Input Capture in the sources list
but the only audio the card captured was the announcer going BOWSER junior
yes it's on second pc
under audio mixer ?
That clip sounds like noise cancellation - but it's odd you wouldn't get the same issue with the Wii U if that were the case.
You may want to check that Windows Audio enhancements are disabled in case some audio app on the PC is interfering. 3 places to check, first in Windows Settings from the start menu, under system, sound, find the capture card and go into it - towards the bottom see if it lists audio enchancements of any kind, and if it does, turn them off.
If it's not there, check the older sound menus - press Windows Key + R, type mmsys.cpl and press OK. Go to recording, find the capture card and go to properties. Check if there's an enhancements or spatial sound tab, if there is turn them both off. If there's not check the advanced tab for any mention of enhancements
as audio input source
Under the main settings sorry
do i choose elgato ?
You're trying to mix in the headset right? If so just set the headset under the mic option there
okay will try as mic auxilarity audio ? i change this one ?
Yes
If that one doesn't work there's a few other things you can try later, but that's likely the easiest way
Will check and test, get back with you shortly
im trying to use the mic on discord when im in preview mod on gaming pc
to have mic when no mic is plugged into gaming pc
So Discord is running on the second PC right?
yes
You should just have to set your mic in Discrod under Voice and Video settings as the input device
when i join call i can hear the sound but people cant hear me cause no mic
it only shows default
Are you trying to Screen Share in capture card mode, or are you trying to join as a video call?
just join a discord channel with my friend on it
and try to speak to him
i can hear him on the gaming pc but he cant hear cause no mic is plugged on the gaming pc
since my mic and headset are plugged into second pc
Wait, are you using Discord on the Gaming PC or Second PC?
gaming pc
You can't easily feed back the mic like that
I'd use it on the second pc
since your mic is already on there
no way to make it work on gaming pc too ?
Easiest way would be to move the mic over to the gaming PC
Otherwise you'd going to need a bunch of software to split audio around
Alright, it looks like the issue is fixed. Had to literally find out that the only issue was the very last thing you sent, haha. I tested on both consoles and it seems like neither is facing any hiccups. Very odd that the two have different issues, but if it works, it works. For the future, I’m gonna screenshot your message so that I have it on hand if something like this happens again lmao. Thank you very much!
Advanced tab clears everything, doesn’t it
Elgato Wave Link if you have a USB wave mic, wave xlr or Stream Deck+, otherwise Voicemeeter Banana - set it up on both PCs and send the mic from the second pc to the gaming one with VBAN probably
The options you mean? If you turn off enchancements there, then yeah it disables most other audio effects on the PC from applying to the card
No, I mean if there’s ever some sort of issue with anything, somehow the advanced tab is the root of the problem hahaha
It clears all else in terms of “what am I doing wrong”
ah, not all the time, but pretty often for audio issues, yeah
Up next on my docket, figure out a way to record at 60 fps without causing my computer to crash lmfao
(This one is a me problem)
Thank you so much for the help my friend
No worries, good luck with the remaining hiccups there!
Hey can anyone help with this?
audio glitch?
can you give more info?
Yup - every 2 mins or so the audio stutters no matter what the hdmi input is, so it not the source.
Didn’t have this issue with the HD60s.
I upgraded the mobo and have the card slotted into pcie x16 slot.
I'll buy a chatlink pro and i want to know if works with xbox series x on discord or the partychat in COD or only works with the xbox partychat ?
Yes, Chat Link Pro should enable you to get the chats that the Xbox software won't let you split in the app. In game chats, Discord - anything that gets fed to the headset jack (don't forget to set your capture card to Analog mode when you get it, and that it's a passive cable that only splits the audio coming out of the console, not the headset mic)
Perfect! Thansk
@past basin are you able to help further with this?
drivers are installed for the card?
Yep and firmware updated. Bios updated, you name it its updated.
is this a pcie card or an external.
It’s the 4k pro
Yeah in reference saying I had no issue with that. I did mention it was the 4k I’m having problems with. Sorry
what app are you using for for streaming/rec?
have you uninstalled the card, reboot, and reinstall the card?
well power down, you don't want to fry yourself
yeah, so uninstall the drivers, via device manager, shut down the pc, and remove the card, start the pc, install the drivers. shut down, and install the card. then turn on
sometimes this fixes stuff.
Well it’s been installed a completely new motherboard so it’s been very much uninstalled and reinstalled
did it do this on a previous mobo?
As mentioned I first had a motherboard I had a motherboard that didn’t seem to have a slot that had enough lanes, so I got new one and its now installed into x16 slot and still does exactly the same thing.
Let me edit that to make sense
i understood
Ok
what board are you using?
ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING
did you have your bios do auto for the pcie?
I believe so yeah - you’re talking about lane management right?
Yes - I didn’t change anything on that
I left mine on auto as well, so it should see the card, and work, but you're only getting like 2 sec before it goes crazy?
It’s about every two minutes the audio will glitch for a couple of seconds
wha do you have your 4k capture utility set up as ?
The capture card settings options in slobs and OBS also take a good bit longer to open than what I’m used to when I used the HD60s.
One moment
ok
Same as that, only difference mine was set to 1080p.
There’s a default option too right, under format?
yeah.
Used that too.
I can hop on a vc for like 30 mins.
Appreciate that but I’m at work here. New Zealand time.
oh ok, when will you be avail via cst?
the only other thing I can think to do is contact #official-tech-support so they can run diagnostics.
I don’t what that is but let’s say I’d be available in possibly 2 hours. If that works?
I will be asleep by then.
Tomorrow I'm not avail cause it's my 40th B-Day
Set an alarm? 🙂
No, I can't cause everyone will be asleep.
I’m joking I wouldn’t expect anyone to do that.
I’ll contact the official support. Did try calling them but just hangs up
it might depend on time zones.
This was the Australian number. They’re awake over there. It’s not even 12pm yet.
11:30am for the area code that Aussie line is listed as.
Recently just obught a used hd60s, and I'm getting a usb communication error. Is there any way to tell truly if it's because of a faulty capture card , or a faulty cable?
I guess I should also make sure I have the audio setup correctly right?
I use a goxlr and want to use that to manage my levels.
How should that be setup, “officially” speaking.
As I have set up as “listen to this device” in sound settings (windows 11) and routed to the channel I use on the goxlr.
I hope its not a faulty capture card 🙏
Got it working! it wasn't plugged into a 3.0 port.
Morning folks, sorry for the missed pings, been trying to recover my work laptop that failed out among other hiccups.
Glad you got it fixed Trey.
What sort of delay are you talking about Cliqys? Audio/Video desync? Stuttering? Dropped frames?
Paul, that setup should be fine. I don't have a GoXLR to confirm with - but honestly til the skipping is sorted I'd remove the GoXLR from the equation and make sure it's playing okay through OBS or 4K Capture.
Some things to check - disable any windows audio enchancements. 3 spots to check for this - first in the Windows settings under System, Sound find the capture card, click into it, go to the bottome look for audio enchancement, if it's there disable it.
THe other two are in the old sound settings - press Windows Key + R, type mmsys.cpl and press OK. Go to recording tab in the window that pops up, look for the capture card, go to properties. Check if there's an enchancements tab (or spatial audio) and turn off anything in either. IF not, last place to check is the Advanced Tab. Check there for any enhancement options and turn them off. You may also want to try turning off exclusive mode - it's possible another app is trying to control the card and checking it every few minutes leading to issues (unlikely, but we're already in unlikely territory)
(in any case I've given up on my work laptop for the moment I'll check in here again in a few hours when I wake up for said work 😦 )
do elgato capture cards have audio setting for what comes out of the aux ports?
Those are input only.
Specifically "Line In" meant to be used with things like Chat Link or Aux cables
hmmm
i have a evga xr1
that has an aux out for the headset
and its always max volume
and it peaks
its even distorted after lowering it by different means since its peaking from the start
but i guess most other cards dont have aux out
Hey thanks for getting back to me. Did all that and nothing different, no improvements, same behaviour.
Could there be something wrong with this card? Since installing the card, OBS and SL are both so slow when trying add sources, not just when adding the capture card but webcams or anything. (I set up a new scene collection to test).
Note that this is new motherboard and the issues are the same as the previous motherboard that didn’t have the recommended pcie slot available. This board does and it’s in a pcie x16 slot now.
It's possible - #official-tech-support might be able to see that in the logs if it's the case, but trying to figure it out from community help would be an issue. I know adding sources in OBS can take a while sometimes if it's polling hardware for all available modes while its compiling it's list of options though - might be worth disabling the card (eg in Windows Device Settings) to see how that affects OBS performance and if it goes back where you expect. Beyond that it might be time to put in a ticket if the audio issues are still happening.
This happens with other HDMI devices connected right? If you haven't already tried swapping out the source device that's worth a shot too - I've seen examples of weird behaviors when the source has issues like grounding that an interfer with the HDMI on the capture card on the other end.
Yeah ALL HDMI inputs, PS5, Snes Mini, RetroTink etc, everything I have connected has the same problem.
Tested with direct connections with no HDMI switches and that too right?
But yeah, at this point official support might be the best bet - they should be able to pull logs from the Elgato apps to see what's going on with the card, ideally.
yep tried both directly and with a switch, same exact problem.
And is this normal? Multiple instances showing up in sound settings.
I woudln't think so - I don't recall seeing it on the external cards
It's also weird that they're even enumerated the same . . .
Same happens when I open 4k Capture Utility, currently shows two, one instance is turned down to 0 with the option to turn it up greyed out.
That I see sometimes if you're going through Windows Sound Mixer for it
3 I cannot recall seeing though
I'll send a ticket, thanks for trying to help me. Appreciate your time.
I am starting to wish I never bought this now, so much hassle to try to make it work. Happy to go back to the HD60s.
Having full trouble with it, 4 Bluescreen of Death, "No capture devices found" on 4K Capture Utility or "No Signal" lol
i love that
with the 4k x, yeah?
yea yea
and he is new i got it yesterday lol
full bug
windows support are saying that the issue is from elgato
when i unplug and plug it again sometimes i got Bluescreen
ur 4K X is not working well ?
I have the 4K Pro, the new pcie card one
ah ok
So far, not worth the money.
"but you opened the box, sorry we can't help...."
currently he is connected to my computer with blue led so its connected and have signal and when i go to device manager i don't see it, i will get in few minutes a bluescreen
going to restart before it crash lol
oh that sucks
also look my computer specs, idk how its possible to get issue with those specs :
Motherboard : MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
RAM : DDR4, Crucial Ballistix Sport LT, 16Go (8Gox2), CL16 (Gray), 3200 MHZ, CAS 16

working very well hahaha my ps5 is connected and elgato 4k x lauched and look :
nice black screen
BUT on discord stream it's working ????
man i don't understand that product
also working on streamlabs obs
i think the Elgato 4K Capture Utility is not working
it's such a headache right? Hopefully, the official support people will give me an answer.
it is lol i was playing and idk why again i heard from my computer a usb sound of disconect and my streamlabs screen is frozen
hahahahah
i'm going to break something
So I'm with my friend streaming discord with the elgato and every 5-10 min he disconnects and reconnects by himself then everything goes buggy and my wave xlr my micro elgato doesn't work anymore so I have to restart ...
pff
My elgato is very laggy / delayed and it’s plugged into a 3.0 usb port
Any other suggestion to fix this lag
4K X is s UVC device, it doesn't have specific drivers, so generally if you're setting a crash like that it's hardware or cable related. What firmware revision is on the card (found in settings under device, current is 24.05.31 - wait for "one moment please to clear before going into settings), and did you have #official-tech-support take a look already? Are you using the original cable? I haven't had my 4K X ever crash my system yet and I've had it pretty much since launch - the disconnecting and reconnecting is also unusual - you usually only see that if you're running through a USB hub or something that's having trouble keeping up either the power or data, if it's happening without that you should definitely have support take a look at it, or at least make sure you're on the latest firmware and check it with USB Tree Viewer or another tool (https://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html) to make sure it's connecting at SuperSpeedPlus speeds on all of device, port and connection.
Which specific card are you using, and what do you mean by laggy - are you seeing stuttering, frame drops, audio/video desync or something else? What sort of delay are you seeing - it's normal for there to be a very short delay going through a capture card as the video has to be converted from HDMI into something the PC can use, then redrawn through the app on screen, but with the newer cards it should be quite short - say 2-3 frames of video delayed.
Hd60s+ and let me send a recording give me a sec
Got latest firmware and I use the cable from the elgato, the type c is connect to my motherboard
I just asked a refund
It’s annoying
Fair enough - I suspect that particular card likely had issues, so first impressions and all. Good luck with whichever route you go after.
im not alone with those issues ?
i think i will wait the refund and take the 4K Pro then
Blue screening is very uncommon with the external cards - it's rare with the internals, but when it does happen we see it more there because they have dedicated drivers unlike the UVC based externals. I don't remember the last time I heard of someone report an external newer than the HD60 S causing bluescreen errors that didn't track back to some sort of hardware failure (be it card, PC or cable) - didn't happen to get the Stop Code form the blue screen did you?
Mentioning you're not alone, where were you seeing the other comments on it causing BSOD's? I'm curious if there's a trend with the setups that might lead to a root cause.
the code is DRIVER POWER STATE FAILURE
So is the issue here lower fps? The video there does look somewhat choppy. Is it on the preview as well as the recording or just hte recording?
i asked windows support to analyse minidump files
and they said that
This new minidump file also indicates that it is the Elgato USBVideo driver that is causing your system to crash, there are no problems indicated with your Windows installation.
They happen to mention which driver? 4K X doesn't use it's own since it relies on the Windows UVC one - that makes me somewhat concerned that the capture process is either causing something else to go down, or the 4K X was crashing your USB bus and eventually some other device was causing the BSOD as a result.
i'm going to ask the driver
It’s the preview and recording I see it on both streamlabs and obs plus the stream which is the video I sent above
because as he said on the message he said that :
Elgato USBVideo driver
That would make sense with older cards like HD60 S that used Elgato drivers. 4K X is UVC based - you don't need a driver installed at all, just plug it in and run your video app. UVC drivers are provided by the OS. 😐
Though - I haven't gone back over all the history there - do you get the crashes if you use the card with something like OBS Studio instead of 4K Capture Utility? I'm wondering if it might be the app, not the card, that's crashing.
Since that might give a Elgato specific USB video error
I also have a question, when you use it is it plugged into your PC constantly or do you unplug it and plug it back in every time you use your PC?
I've done both - usually it's plugged in, but I do wind up swapping it in and our a lot since I started voluneteering here because I swap it out with my old HD60 X and HD60 S+ to get instructions and screenshots for folks.
Does it also occur in 4K Capture Utility - what are you capturing with the card (PS5, Xbox, ETC), and at what resolution? There's a few things we can check but which one to start with can depend on that
on 4K Capture Utility, when it's connected to the PS5 i got Blackscreen or sometimes no devices found or no signal, but i can watch it on discord stream and streamlabs obs its working until i heard the sound of usb disconnected
i checked on my motherboard technical caracteristics, and my type-c port is 3.2 gen 2
so its good
When you updated the firmware to the latest, did it give any errors or anything?
Also was 4K Capture Utility the only thing open when you were trying that - only one app at a time can access the USB based cards, if SL, OBS or Discord were still using it, it's normal it wouldn't see a signal (though very not normal for the USB to disconnect)
first time for the firmware got 0 errors, and first time used it, it was Microsoft Teams who was openned
i don't really know if its my pc the issue or the elgato
Ps5 I got both hdmis plugged in correctly and the usb to a 3.0 port I believe I’m running 1920x1080 60frames
my config is that :
Motherboard : MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX
RAM : DDR4, Crucial Ballistix Sport LT, 16Go (8Gox2), CL16 (Gray), 3200 MHZ, CAS 16
RAM : Vengeance RGB PRO SL - 2 x 8 Go - DDR4 3200 MHz CAS16 - Noir (Corsair)
Processor : AMD Ryzen 7 5800X
Watercooling : CORSAIR H100 RGB, 240 mm
Graphic Card : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER Founder's Edition
SSD : Samsung 970 EVO Plus, 1 To
Hard Disk 1 : Seagate Barracuda, 1 To
Hard Disk 2 : Seagate Barracuda, 2 To
Computer Case : Cooler Master MasterBox MB520 RGB, Black
Power Supply : Corsair RM850e (2023), 850W
all my motherboard driver and bios are up to date
maybe its my motherboard the issue idk
Ah, much as I dislike teams for it's tendencies to hold onto a card after you stop using it that shouldn't give issues past a reboot even if it did happen.
Yeah, it's going to be tough to narrow down there - if support had a chance to look at it they can generally pull some logs and have a better idea what's happening than the community help, but that can take a few days to go through.
I would suggest checking USB Tree Viewer https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/sections/5126053814029-Elgato-4K-Capture-Utility-Release-Notes and checking what the summary for the card looks like as that can rule out some USB compatibilty issues.
I might even try it with an older version of 4K Capture Utility like 1.7.11 to see if it's something specific with the current update (old versions are available here: https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/sections/5126053814029-Elgato-4K-Capture-Utility-Release-Notes ). Though does it crash out and do the USB disconnect and reconnect thing with the other apps too? I wonder if it's got a defect and is overheating or the USB cable is defective and shorting 😐
I know there were some issues with it a while back with certain motherboard USB Chipsets causing some audio hiccups, but can't say I've seen them crash the whole system for that to day - (not that I might happen anyway)
ah yes and also I have the sound card elgato wave xlr with the micro elgato and when the 4K X disconnected for no reason it stop all the material elgato of my pc and I was obliged to reboot my pc
just copied my buddies settings
Wave XLR and Wave DX? Having the card crash though out does sound more like 4K Capture might be the issue, since it might hook the USB engine - though if the 4K X is crashing your whole USB bus when you hear that disconnect, it could be crashing the Wave XLR too
to use USB Tree Viewer i need the 4k x to be connected ?
yes XLR and DX
which version of 4K Utility are you using, and i dont really how a software can cause lot of issue with the card
Looks good so far - is your PS5 set to 1080p as well? And is there any external monitor in the HDMI output? Does "Source" in the top right of 4K Capture Utility confirm the same resolution?
If that's all set, try changing the USB Transfer mode (this is a HD60 S+ thing only). Hold CTRL and open settings in 4K Capture Utility and try each capture mode in the Device tab to see if either improves the video feed's smoothness.
Yes, give me a second. I'm launching mine there now to get a screenshot of what it should look like.
Currently I'm on the latest 4K Capture Utility 1.7.13 - though sometimes folks wind up with issues on latest release. If support is telling you it's an Elgato USB Video driver that's the issue, that's the only thing I can see causing it offhand since otherwise it would be a UVC driver not an elgato one in the crash report
Card should show up in the list, then you can check the speed in the summary like this and confirm it's getting full SuperSpeedPlus speeds -t hat can rule out a number of potential issues
ok wait 5 min i going to open it again and try again
now its telling me this
but it is
unless the 3.0 port is damaged or worn out this is what someone told me
I'd look at the cable first, but try it in a different port. Sometimes after changing the USB mode you may also need to restart 4K Capture Utility
look
it looks good for the usb
so now i need to downgrade 4K Utility
Yeah that definitely looks good for the USB - intel USB chipset too, so I've not seen folks trip up on that yet.
Doesn't 100% rule out that there might be a cable defect that could short the port. You might also want to try it in a different port or with a different cable if you have one about that's at least 5 Gbps (it'll work in a 5 Gbps port as well, with some options locked out, if you only have non- Gen 2 ports available).
I'd start with the Utility though - just to rule out software issues. Maybe when it gets up hit the Reset Defaults button in the bottom right of the settings too, to be safe
nice they all say it needs to plugged into a 3.0
yea sure
What the - okay, can you get back into settings and change it back? The USB warning should only lock out the video feed, not the settings options
er that was for Cliqys
which version of utility i take ?
I'd suggest 1.7.11 - new enough it shouldn't have any issues with 4K X, and a couple versions older incase something in a specific update is making it not play nice there
okay i try it
cant click anything on this page
Will anything come up if you hold down CTRL when you open settings? That expsoses other options
Also you man need to update that firmware when you get it switched back - it's fairly old even for HD60 S+ which could be part of the issue
ok thats good can you tell me if i need to change everything here ?
only options and already updated
Not unless you're using a Chat Link cable, or not getting a signal issue - pretty much the same as my own
okay i try it with the ps5 now i cross the fingers
What version of 4K Capture Utility are you on? The firmware comes bundled with the app updates - there should be an update for it since your version is lower than my own HD60 S+
Good luck, we'll see how it goes
is it the one in the pic
The app version is back on the General tab, not the device one. That's just your firmware versions
1.17.13
So I'm updating my new 4k pro's firmware in 4k capture utility and its now just perpetually saying "4k pro is restarting and will be available soon"
Does this normally take awhile or am I safe to task manager this and try again?
Huh, I wonder if there's been an internal revision to the card or something that gives a different driver
Wait it died as soon as you plugged in a monitor? If you remove it, then disconnect and reconnect the USB does it come right back?
yes for the first question and i try it lol
not even sure atp
ah lol all my elgato components are disconnected
Bah, that sounds like a USB issue, like the card shorted or something and took out the internal USB controller for a moment 😐
need to restart the computer
Okay, good luck - with any luck it shuld come back up smoothly
I was talking to you and just got a blue screen
was told to install this if my 3.o might be cooked
I love blue screen 💀
You may also want to try restarting with the HDMI already in - if it was a short from the connection starting it with the cord connected may avoid a spark or something from tripping it
Yeah - I wouldn't assume your USB 3.0 ports are out of order yet though. An additional card can also help sometimes if your USB controller is getting overloaded as the card has it's own controller
oh wtf
just laggy and choppy af
Just bumping this if anyone has any ideas
im going to restart the ps5 for see
Were you able to change the USB transfer mode back? or is it still on the one you set?
okay after the restart its working
still the one i set
now the sound is crispy 💀💀💀💀
If it's been stuck that long you may need to force restart and try it again. I suggest waiting at least 10 minutes but it sounds like you likely have already.
we can sort that likely - if you check the volume inidcator is it maxing out all the time?
when you say force restart to do you mean restart the pc or just task manager the app
nop
middle
hm. Okay I'd suggest starting there first thoguh - 4K X does have a known issue where it can get loud enough internally to clip on some setups.
Press Windows Key + R and type mmsys.cpl and press ok. Go to recording tab, find the capture card and go into properties. Go to levels and if it's set to max roll it back to 70, press OK and see if that changes anything
nvm i just task managered it. will try update again to see
K, was going to say start with teh app kill, then the PC kill if that doesn't work. If you do need to restart the PC to get it to cooperate, power it down entirely for about 20 seconds before restarting to make sure the card fully resets
still crispy
Any chance you've got an clip with it you can upload? You might also want to try it in the other app like OBS and see if the audio is still crispy there too
Can you change it back at all or is the setting locked out?
(don't forget to hold CTRL when opening settings as that one is normally a hidden setting)
locked at this
wait
just got it back
what should usb transger mode be
The other thing I'm seeing there is the source signal is 4K. HD60 S+ can only capture 4K at 30fps - you may want to go into the PS5 settings and st the resolution manually down to 1080p and see if that improves things
auto is fine normally - we were only changing it to see if either manual option fixed your issue
Ah, that is indeed pretty crispy. Give me a second I need to check something on my own audio there - but one thing I'm worries about is how that card crashed when you connected the HDMI. Crispy audio could be an indication of a grounding problem in some cases too (which would also explain the card crashing when the HDMI went in). There's a few things we can try first though
In the PS5's video setting itself? What does the source say in the top right, and does the input signal in settings still say 2160p?
okay
yeah
Yeah your PS5 is still sending a source signal of 2160p59.94 while the capture is at 1080p. That is still going to drop the fps coming in over hte card since HD60 S+ has no hardware scaling.
If you go back into the settings (Windows Key + R, mmsys.cpl) and check the properties for the card again, what does the advanced tab look like?
What on earth - where is the card getting a 2160p soruce from. There's nothing else between the PS5 and the capture card, right?
Okay, already 48,000. I'm curious - the HDMI you connected earlier tha things crashed, was it the input one or the one going to an external monitor?
Any improvement to the video?
let me recheck
i dont saw the moment of the crash because i plug the in and out fast
but wait im going to change the out hdmi its an old one
its not a 2.1 on the out
Ok - when you remove the out, if it doesn't crash things, see if the audio is still staticy before you plug the other cable in
okay
out id disconnected and the sound still crispy
choppy still
hm. In the PS5 audio settings is it set to stereo audio? It'll get distrotion if it's on spatial or dolby options sometimes
Yeah, I'd try the other USB Transfer mode now and see if that fixes anything, but that looks like a USB data problem. If you have a spare USB 3.0 (5Gbps) or faster cable about, it might be worth a shot too - I've see that happen as an early sign a cable is getting ready to go (or has dirt in the connector0
brb, have to go ge the controller for my PS5 - missing the screenshots I usually have on hand for the audio settings
ok tried with 2 hdmi 2.1 cable but got sound crispy again
You're going to have to try both to see which works better - only reason we're manually setting it is in case automatic isn't working here.
bet
Okay, we can likely rule out the cable then. No sign of dirt or corrosion in the port for the card is there?
i doubt it but ill get my air can and air out any dust or dirt
In the PS5, check that the audio is showing 2ch and that it's set to Linear PCM. Want to rule out a compatibilty issue with the source before we go too far into this
actually wait crap, give me a second. Up
got same as you
You've got a B450 motherboard right?
I just went back through some of my notes history - there's a known issue with the B450 boards and audio crackle with 4K X. I don't know if they have a fix for it or not since that was back in March. You may have to check with #official-tech-support on that.
If that's what it is though, your audio issues will stop if you use one of the 5 Gbps USB ports instead (3.0, 3.1 Gen 1, 3.2 Gen 1) though you might need a USB-C to USB-A cable for that.
I'm going to see if I can ping someone who might know if there was ever an update to that issue
ok ok ty
In the meantime if you can use one of the other ports, if you've got a cable for it, it should help confirm if that's what you're running into here
nothing
i just tried to unplug and plug the type c and it's full bug now ...
im unlucky i think lol
Ah - most cables are going to be 2.0 these days - only external drives and video devices usually come with 3.0. Pretty much have to go shopping for a 5 Gbps or faster one specifically.
Given you've got a B450 board I'm not sure if there were other issues with that or not either 😦 I had thought it was only the audio - you might be better off with the internal afterall just to avoid that USB chipset.
Person I'm checking with on the issue is offline for the moment so not sure when I'll have an answer on that.
#official-tech-support may be able to answer it too - though there's usually a bit of a delay of a day or two on a response if you can't get them on the phone
and now i got signal on 4k x but no signal on the 4k utility fuuuck
im going to take a break its been 5 hours trying to fix that
pff
Might bet worth rebooting again - we did pick at a few things. Also will force any other apps that might be using the card to let go
Sounds like a plan, sorry it's been such a headache - could have saved some of that time if I'd remembered the B450 audio issues
If I get an answer back on the other thing I'll let you know
What happens if you drop the video on the PS5 to 720p? If it's a USB bandwidth issue a lower resolution may give you smoother video (in which case we'll also know it's a USB bandwith issue)
Yeah, this hasn't been a streak of good luck, has it. If you're going to check with #official-tech-support I'd drop them a ticket there now before taking a break though - just to get a response quicker. May also help with the RMA process if you do have to swap the card out for something else
yea i asked a refund i cant stop it
Fair enough - Good news is I checked your motherboard specs, it does have a PCIe 2.0 x4 slot available (if the other slots aside from the GPU are empty), so the intenral cards are an option as well (though you may want to check that the GPU doesn't block those PCIe ports)
New question
Elgato 4k pro and it's support for ultrawide 3440x1440 240hz passthrough
it works
A lot of the info I've seen is like, 4-6 months old
Working fine at 720p? Issue is likely USB then. Either the cable, or too many devices sharing bandwidth (since the transfer modes didn't change anything). Normally I'd also want to see that HD60 S+ updated to latest firmware , but your's already seems to think it is.
4K X just had an update for official support for 3440x1440p. 4K Pro I believe supports it but unofficially as they're not fully done testing Ultrawide on it.
I'd give it a shot to see, if nothing else
How do I force it to support it
then try 1080p
4k capture utility keeps freezing every 2s
?
yeah, worth a shot
nothing to loose there but a few minutes testing
I set the edid to the 3440x1440 mode but it only stops at 100hz for the fps. And every time I open 4k cap utility it resets back to default
It feels like I'm pulling teeth with how clunky the app is
Is your 4K Capture Utility already on 1.7.13? It may also not like running in 21:9 with 4K Pro - I'd probably try it in anther app like OBS Studio to see wht happens
yes
but will i get sound problem with 4k pro ?
Is there a way to change the edid without using 4k cap utility
Whats the source? 100Hz cap tracks iirc if you're on HDMI 2.0 ports or cables (though I'd have to double check a calcuation to be sure)
3090 with HDMI 2.1 cable
I am also using the cable the box came with to run from GPU to cap card
As far as I'm aware the issue is specifically with the 10 Gbps USB ports on the B450 - which is why it usually works in the 5 ones. 4K Pro being PCIe would bypass that entirely so very unlikely you'd get that sound issue
Yeah 100hz sounded suspiciously like HDMI 2.0 to me
EDID can only be set with 4K Capture Utility for Windows and Capture Device Utility for mac. You could reach out to #official-tech-support though - they can sometimes set you up with a custom EDID (I think the 3440x1440 one already in 4K Capture Utility is set to HDMI 2.0 for the other cards)
back to 1080p unplugged alot of stuff and swent back to lagging
If you run USB Tree Viewer (https://www.uwe-sieber.de/usbtreeview_e.html) and check the summary when you select your card, what speeds are the three listed? (Port, device and connection)
Interesting. I wish I could just snag an edid file somewhere without having to wait for support. Are they usually pretty quick?
It can take a day or two if you can't get them on the phone - EDID request may have to go to the dev team though as well, so I couldn't say. I haven't had to request one in forever
That said if you set the EDID to display if you have a monitor that does 3440x1440 over HDMI 2.1 connected there, it should just used the monitor's instead which may bypass the whole issue
i will refund it and take the 4k pro than
will be better
Strangely edid set to display does not seem to work
It only shows me 16:9 resolutions in settings
USB Version : 2.1
Port maximum Speed : High-Speed (Companion Port 3-8 is doing the SuperSpeed)
Device maximum Speed : SuperSpeed
Device Connection Speed : High-Speed
But of luck with it - hopefully it goes a lot smoother with the setup
Your card is stuck in USB 2.0 speed - that explains why it's working at 720 and too slow elsewhere. Port is good (companion port means it's a SuperSpeed USB 3 port just running in backwards compatibility mode), device is good, but connection is High Speed indicating USB 2.0. That usually means the cable is a 2.0 cable, or you've got a hub or adapter that's dropping the speed
If you have it there, I'd give it a shot
Yeah, may have to go through support then, unless you or someone you know has the tools to steup a custom EDID
could you link me where i go through support again? thanks
#official-tech-support - there's a link in there. It'll take you to the page to open a ticket, there's also a support phone number in the top right of the page
Still stuck in high speed for some reason through - it'd suspect dirt in the cards port, or the cable is starting to fail from age. Happen to have access to a USB 3.0 or 5 GBps USB cable or faster other than that one? Also if you have other Elgato products like Stream Deck or Wave:3, be aware those would have USB 2.0 cables - does the cable you're using have a blue insert on the USB-A side of it?
If you have to clean the port though, something soft is the best idea - you don't want to scratch the metal contacts. I use a rubber dental pick becaus the rubber coating is good at rubbing off even dort I can't see
no access to one rn i dont think
dont have any other products
the cable usb a doesnt have a blue end
Yeah, the blue inserts are optional - not all OEMs use them
Though the cable not ending in blue is odd - most Elgato cables follow that spec (and I thought they all did)
The one with my own HD60 S+ had a blue end too
the one i got didnt have a blue end
i also got this back in 2022 but never took it out the box
I'd probably try getting your hands on a cable you know is 5 GBps. Eglato sells them spare at https://www.elgato.com/spare-parts but pretty much any one will do. I know Best Buy has some insigna branded ones that do 10 Gbps in most stores, and there's a bunch on Amazon
Unless it's marked it's hard to confirm if the cable that came with it was 3.0 or not.
If it was late 2022, you may still be within the 2 year warranty they have on most regions for authorized resellers if you want to check with support though
nah it was june
would one from best buy or amazonm work
not sure how long elgato will take to ship
Yeah, any USB 3.0 (or 3.1, 3.2, even 4 or Thunderbolt 3/4) cable will work. Can be USB-C to USB-A or USB-C to C, depending on whatever ports are free on your PC
Just make sure of the speed on the box - most cables are 2.0 because they're often aimed at only charging things
If you're headed to Best Buy, this is the one I was talking about (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=14772966 )
Shop for 14772966 at Best Buy. Find low everyday prices and buy online for delivery or in-store pick-up
alright ill take a break from this and try later ill go get the cable now to see maybe if thats best
the link doesnt work btw
Sec that link is bad and I crashed out the browser :p
That number on the end is their webcode though - search that on the site and it should come up
Cable issues come up enough I had to start looking up what stores folks might have locally would have that match. That cable should work for any of the Elgato externals, including 4K X, since it's 10 Gbps
Alright thanks
This is probably why
I got the blue port not the blue cable nice lmaooo
Yeah - if it is, you'll only be the second person I've ever seen to get the wrong cable in the box (thankfully doesn't happen often).
Yeah I just never looked into streaming my first 2 years of college bc it’s pretty busy but now since I’m doing my masters I’ve got less classes just more study time to do
So why not go ahead and start
Seems fair. I still don't know where some of the folks I knew in college found time to game - I had to drop off WoW myself for a couple years and everything back then. Time becomes a myth
Though I also remember buying things I didn't have time to actully use back then 🙂
Hi friend i have Apogee DUET 3 software, does it works with it ? XLR mic shure SM7B
You'd likely need to use Voicemeeter there - should work with most audio input devices
Hi all, I have a HD60 X and I'm not getting sound in the windows software, the passthrough is working fine, but the app isn't playing or recording that sound.
Anyone know a fix?
does anyone use a neo capture and ps5?
is there a way to get audio from console hdmi to card and controller at the same time with no chat link
Not without alternative hardware like a Mixamp or something, no. PS5 runs on a one audio stream per user method so the instant you plug in a headset it mutes all the other audio feeds. One exception is if you sign in a second controller as a different user - but that won't really work for things like voice chat, and you'll still need a Line In on the computer of some kind (most desktops will already have a line in jack), possibly with a ground loop isolator and an aux cable.
What app are you using it with? If it's OBS, it gets added with Audio Monitoring off, and you can set it to Monitor and Output in the advanced audio properties, in the edit menu
