Hello There! So, I've been having an issue where what I record, is recorded in slow motion (specifically 50%) and no audio. in the preview, gameplay is normal speed and has audio. I've tried lots of videos and the help section on ElGato's website, But I am so lost. I have an HD60 S and I'm trying to record on the switch. I have a Mac (Apple Silicon).

Yeah, OBS on Apple Silicon chips are not compatible is what I was told by OBS discord lol.

I placed the HDMI in the out from my switch and then i used the other HDMI cord on the in section onto my computer

so that's the issue. IN should connect to Console/Gaming PC, OUT connects to TV/Gaming Monitor, and USB-C to the capture card, and USB-3.0 to your Streaming PC's Motherboard port. No USB hubs.

Question/issue: hello there, I have little knowledge with Elgato products, just trying to help a friend. been having some issues lately with game capture on stream, like artefacts and black bars. Wondering if the cause is the Elgato, the game itself (Resident Evil 4 the OG legacy game - not the new remaster with some "fixes"/mods) or some other graphic issue. might be a coincidence but for some reasons it's all borked and then after less load (like exiting a fight scene) it runs fine again, other times they have to unplug/replug the elgato and relaunch the game because the sound audio is not picked up.
they said the power of the elgato was kinda loose due to moving the PC around recently, I'm not sure yet if the issue is with the cable or the elgato host port. can this be a power issue or a glitch with that game? Please see screenshots below for behavior

Question/Issue: Hi! I stream on Twitch using Xbox Series S with my Macbook Pro via Lightstream. I bought HD60 S+ along with the chat link pro. The party chat works just fine whenever I game with another Xbox user. But whenever I game with pc or other console users their voices on lobby/party chat won’t go through my stream and the video capture gets a bit laggy. And so I thought it could be the chat link, but when i tried the other hdmi capture card, voice chat works. I also tried the Elgato software where I have to select the analog audio. I really wanna switch to OBS but for some reason it lags pretty badly and could only run not more than 720x480 resolution with this capture card. I would really appreciate your help! Thank you.

do you think it has to do with the connection and not the elgato itself acting up?

could be the nvidia settings, or the cables. Make sure they have the streaming pc’s drivers, and bios updated.

I was wondering if they were using using a console, but since it’s dual no adapter issue. It’s either cables, or the picture settings in the nvidia control panel.

(since they are not very tech-savvy I should probably ask them to export a config report with a tool like Speccy to get the big pictures of the 2 PC)

My "Monitor & Output" in OBS for my HD60X audio has been working great, but last night during a 4 hour stream, at the 3 hour markish, my audio on my headphones randomly got out of sync from the capture on my monitor that I was playing on.. Any ideas why this would just happen over time? I restarted OBS / my stream and it all worked well again.

Hi, I have a GoPro Hero 9 with the Cam Link connected (plus the GoPro HDMI module). There are many days that the GoPro doesn't detect the camlink (but it connects, since the USB is connected but without broadcasting for OBS, since the image doesn't reach the PC).

this is pretty much what i'm doing. in obs monitoring and outputting my capture card, monitoring and outputting my deskop from pc, and have my wireless headphones connected to my PC

talking to buddies in game by using discord voice chat on pc, and my buddies on console join the same voice chat from console

chat link + wired headphones def seems like the best option though, though you have to have wired headphones, and then a separate mic for pc

so this week i found a problem: if i use something like Project64 (N64 Emulator) there is only a Blackscreen if i play this in Fullscreen, but Project64 dosn't provide a borderless option so i only can see it with Window mode :/

hey there, we figured it was an issue with that game only during some sequences. no issue with other games.
btw the game runs just fine on their monitor, it's the way it's captured with elgato that's glitchy, but no big deal. RE4 legacy is very broken

i don't route my capture card audio through wavelink, but if you are with no issues, you can pull wavelink in as an audio output for the audio, and keep the video muted. see if that helps.

I only have mine done that way due to the Stream Deck+. But nothing I do, whether It's adding audio + video in OBS, makes any difference. The second I open an app to stream it from, or display it.. the stutter appears. It's weird.

Hey everyone! Just upgraded my computer, and just about everything survived the transfer over... except for my Elgato 4k60pro capture card breaking OBS lol

Im not sure if I did something wrong with the display cloning thing, but now in OBS (& the 4k capture utility tool) it isnt recognized, it just shows a black screen in the video preview, and bringing up the layers properties instantly makes OBS stop responding and crash.
Anyone know what a good solution to this might be?

Funny enough that was the first thing I went to for troubleshooting. For some reason the 4k capture utility only launches when I run it as administrator, and it doesnt have the same menu settings as shown in the pic

The 4k60pro also isnt recognized on that list, but it's clearly recognized to the System as it shows up in the Display Settings

Hey, im setting up my nintendo switch through obs using the hd60 s+, and everything is set up except theres no audio coming through. Ive gone to the 4k capture and set the audio input to analog, Ive gone through the video capture device in obs and set the advanced audio settings to monitor and output, I even switched my computers audio input to my capture card. uninstalled obs and redownloaded it. I switched the nintendos tv audio to stero. Ive done just about everything Ive found on help pages and videos I could find. could it maybe be a cable issue?

I just installed the latest version which made the visible and audio lag a bit better, but it's still abysmal like shown in the video (showing how laggy it is when I'm trying to stream a nintendo switch game). I'm using an HD60 S+ external capture card, and I'm just trying to stream the preview tab to Discord. It was completely fine (besides a half-second delay in input) before that certain update. If anyone knows any possible solutions for this, please reply with a ping

I've tried disconnecting and reconnecting everything, but no change happened.

Hey everyone, I recently got a Cam Link 4K to use with my Panasonic AG UX90. I've confirmed that I have a clean HDMI signal from the camera into a monitor. So my set up is a ps5, hd60s+, OBS, Windows 11 and I'm having the issue of my game audio randomly cutting out on my stream. Everything else is working fine, everything is plugged in correctly, I can deactivate and reactivate to temporarily fix it but it always cuts back out. I did try the fix above with turning off the setting that stops power to the USB ports I have also switched around to different USB ports and all on my PC are 3.0. Any ideas? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'll just try plugging it into a normal HDMI display outside the Elgato to confirm this.

If your nvme is installed in the slot under your gpu it’s more than likely the culprit. You may need to power everything off, and move it to the one above your gpu. Most mobo are setup this way.

Hello all. I have an issue with my Elgato hd60x. I have tried is on 2 laptops and my desktop.

I am getting display and audio output but the OBS and Elgato 4K Utility stays black.
I have now tried several hdmi cables, usb A to usb C and usb C to C cables.

Also with my PS4 I got a display with passthrough and sound only 1 time and after that my display keeps turning on and off and saying there is no signal

Hey All! I'm in the process of reinstalling my programs to get my damn OBS working for streaming again, and I think my 4k60pro is kinda breaking. It was giving me issues when I first set the PC up, and post-OS wise and reinstall, and now THIS all happens when I try and check the different programs.

I opened OBS and it gave me the OBS screenshot, even though last night it was working completely fine
When I went to open 4kCapture Utility after seeing my OBS, my Windows11 did the thing where the windows get smaller then bounce back in, like it does when you mess with the display settings
I opened the 4kCapture a second time, and it looked like the red one

Anyone know what might be causing this or how it can be fixed...?

I would try to deinstall driver with the hardware manager. After you deinstallt the elgato capture card driver you restart your pc. It should reinstall the driver after restart, might be an solution. Worth i try. 🙂

if i unterstand correctly you stream with your ps5 and your headset is pluged in your pc. So the sound source should be your ps5. Could be your HDMI Cable which is for sound and picture transfer of you ps5 to your pc. Mabye and standy option is turned on on your console which cuts sound if the system is not pluged into an headset or soundbar or someting like that (I dont know the ps5 console very well so thats just an guess on my part).

well...mabye if you set your solution different in elgato and obs or someting...might be an scaling problem. If that does not help you can try to reinstall elgato drivers...go to your hardware manager and delete the elgato drivers and restart your pc, the drivers will be reinstalled after restart.

I ended up figuring out that it was a PCIe issue. I had an SSD in my 1st M.2 slot on my MB, but when you do that on my board it cuts the GPUs PCIe lanes from 16x to 8x, and apparently the capture card is not a fan of that happening, so the second I emptied that slot to free up back to the full 16x lanes, it works great now!

@upper ferry here is the best place to ask. but to answer, you could use obs instead and create 2 sources one for video and one for the audio input. you can monitor and output the audio one, and mute the video. also in obs make sure to select your headphones/speakers as your monitoring device. preferably a headset so no echo.

Just wanted to repost since I am still having the issue and it seems my post got kinda lost. So my set up is a ps5, hd60s+, OBS, Windows 11 and I'm having the issue of my game audio randomly cutting out on my stream. Everything else is working fine, everything is plugged in correctly, I can deactivate and reactivate to temporarily fix it but it always cuts back out. I did try the fix above with turning off the setting that stops power to the USB ports I have also switched around to different USB ports and all on my PC are 3.0. Any ideas? Does anybody know what causes the Elgato 4k60 MK.2 Internal capture card to disconnect randomly through OBS? I have a dual pc streaming setup that I use it with to clone my display to OBS. It works but it blinks out for like 2-3 seconds and starts working again. It works fine but this process repeats itself every 10 mins or so and I have no clue how to fix it. Alternatively, it may also be possible using the Cam Link Pro, and some “1-in 2-out” HDMI splitters. Note; the audio would have to be captured separately with this setup.

I bought a HD60X and having trouble getting it to show up for game capture HD, it shows up in OBS on both gaming/streaming PC. That being said DO you need that hdmi out plugged in? All the stuff I found online is for the S not the X. I believe I have it hooked up right. HDMI IN going to the graphics card on the GAMING comp, USB C going to the streaming PC. I thought that is what is all needed. Does the HDMI Out need to be used and if so does that just go to the gaming monitor? I tried that and it was just blacked screened.

hey, hopefully this is the right channel to ask. I am using the 4k60 pro mk.2 and the audio always crackles and pops. On OBS it does not pop. so right now I'm streaming video through 4k capture utility, but I have the sound go through OBS.

before firmware and drivers updates, I was able to get 3440x1440 144hz on capture card from my gaming PC via HDMI from iGPU

but now I got only 100hz, and this is seems to be causing issues during recording video. Video is not smooth

Hi, I'm buying an old Game Capture HD off ebay for a few things, but one thing I'd like to do is VHS digitising. The VCR has a scart output and I've found some adapters to convert it to the S-Video AV that the card has. Will these work or do I need a different approach. Hello, I have an hd60x and 2 more than capable gaming/streaming pcs that I've been using to stream. Both are able to handle HDR yet when I use my hd60x I have to turn off hdr on my monitor and sucks. It seems there is a way to have hdr on while using the capture card but I haven't been able to figure it out or find a solution anywhere. I currently have my hdr capable main display cloned onto my hd60x. When cloned it makes me shut down hdr... Is there something I can do different to use hdr while i play? It doesn't need to be on the stream/hd60x

I appreciate the suggestion. I've been going back and forth with my support ticket. Most recent "fix" was to update my bios (that was just released not even a week ago) and if anything that just made it worse. I really think the hardware needs a new firmware update. I'm going to keep trying whatever suggestion I'm given but until then I've ordered a EVGA XR 1 Pro in hopes that will truely work out of the box. I hate spending over $150 dollars on something that doesn't work as it should.

top one will be a GPU, any of the bottom 3 can be fine, however, make sure the nvme drive is in the top slot, not the bottom so the power doesn't have an issue. I am curious to see if 2 can run at the same time, given 4k capture utility has a dropdown like camera hub to change settings for each device. Sine the experience with Camera Hub allows me to use EpocCam and my Facecam at the same time, I doubt it will be an issue. Maybe Elgato make a new capture card that allows multiple consoles connected at once in the future. If they do this aside from camlink pro, which as @fathom ember stated about audio, I would love to see them do it 4k120hz vrr hdmi 2.1 for each. that would be wild! lol

I did send a #feature-request to see if Elgato could add an audio tab to control the audio on the capture card maybe in a future update, but for now the workaround is using OBS with 2 sources. 1 for video and mute the video source, and 1 for the audio input and monitor and output the audio input.

yeah but the audio is probably going to the the main issue. if you're looking for just a video feed, like a camera, then camlink/pro but if you're looking for gaming then a capture card is ideal.

I believe I just have it set up wrong? I duplicate my main display onto my hd60x and it's windows that doesn't support that configuration. HDR is indeed on for both pc's 100% of the time aside from this issue. I need to learn the right way to set up my capture card

I switch between 2 PC's for streaming. One is my main that ill stream with when I play console. The other is what I use to stream when I game on my main PC. If its appropriate to ask, what card would you reccomend I use if I frequently switch between PC's to stream? HD60 s+? The MK2 looks nice but I'd probably have to uninstall, reinstall nonstop unless i bought 2

figured it out, I removed the 120hz options from the ps5 and now it's smooth. i don't mind 60 fps tbh so it's all good, even tho my monitor goes up to 165

Just wondering, did the 4K Capture get an update? The reason why I'm asking this is because before I couldn't get sound on my Astro headset from the Nintendo Switch, and now I'm getting sound. I needed the adaptor for the PS5, but I could never heard the Switch ever. So did the card get update that allows for this to happen?

No recent updates would have caused this, it should have worked for a while. Maybe theres a setting you changed without realizing?

No, I haven't touched anything. When it comes to my 4K, it was a replacement from my last one, and this one I have to turn the 4K program on, and then turn the PS5 on in order for ANYTHING to be seen on my TV screen that displays it all. When it shows only in my 4K cap program and not the TV, I have to completely shut the computer down and then restart it up in order for it to work correctly. Other than that, I've never touched ANY of the settings at all. Shoot, my Astro A50's haven't had an update in ages (I don't even know when it gets an update since it has to be on the PC side, and it's never on that side due to being there for the PS5).

I'm writing this for @knotty notch as we are not able to pinpoint what could be happening. She's having issues with distorted sound (PS5) which started just recently, before Tuesday (25th) there were no issues.

Normally she is using Windows itself to listen to the audio which comes from the capture card, by setting Windows to listen to the device and output to the headset. When starting up any game on the pc however the distortion starts. When closing the game the distortion is gone.
However the distortion is also present in the audio of the 4K Capture Utility, when no game is running.
Any ideas what could cause these issues to suddenly appear?

Only when I was installing the replacement. The last time I had done a reinstall of the drivers, the whole thing got screwed up, and that was thanks to something on the card not working correctly. Since then everything's been fine till the Switch sound popped up today

It seems that it was a glitch of sorts. My Astro A50 headset really got affected. I had to restart the headset when it not only wouldn't shut down, but was giving a false battery read from the headset. After I reset the headset manually, I no longer heard any sounds from the Switch through the headset any more.

So I recently got a PS5, that I mainly play 2k on. I use an elgato to stream the game from my PS5 using my PC, but the main issue I’m having is I can’t talk to my teammates or capture party audio, since that audio is either transferred straight into my pc thru the elgato, or into my headphones if I plug them into my PS5/controller. Is there a way to be able to utilize both, so that I can stream using my PC and still capture party chat audio/talk to the party?

Ello, not sure if anyone knows the issue here as I've literally scoured the internet for answers on this and I've only managed to find a handful of other people who had this issue (two of which happened within the last 48hrs like myself).

I am using the HD60 and mid use my Game Capture stopped capturing displaying as shown in the first image
After doing a whole lot of restarting, checking inside my PC to see if it had been damaged or somehow loosened, everything seemed okay. Like a normal person and from internet advice I went to reinstall the drivers, which many said to uninstall them first - interestingly my driver for Game Capture appeared to be missing (the sound capture was there fine).

I continued to try install the driver regardless and despite this, no driver has appeared within there since, see second image. Like before even if I uninstall Sound Capture it comes back find but Game Capture does not.

From what I'm aware not many people have encountered this that have posted it on the internet but there's been a couple who have reported this since I had the issue, but the only other people I found to have had the issue a while before me never found a solution

So if anyone has any answers or advice that would be great thank you

when i use custom resolution and set it to 4k + highest framerate - it output as you would expect, very big picture that you need to resize to fit the canvas

Hi All, I'm having an issue with my capture card recording the sound audio coming from my Nintendo Switch. I am using an Elgato Chat Link Pro to get the audio from my switch to record to my laptop while simultaneously sending it to my headphones while I play. For some time, the audio was captured and worked fine. However, two weeks ago the audio became distorted. I don't know if something switched with my audio settings for my laptop because I tested the same set up on an older laptop and it records the audio fine. I need to know what's wrong with my current laptop audio settings to re-record sound. Can anyone help me with this?

I'm curious to know the fix for this one. I've had issues with distorted sound from the hd60x since I got it. All other elgato products work/worked fine with my set up.

First thing I suggest is checking for any Win updates, drivers & bios updates, then instead of using 4k capture utility use OBS and create 2 sources 1 for video, and 1 for audio. only monitor and output the audio source, and mute the video source.

as long as you disable hdcp on the ps3 it should work with either elgato capture card on HDMI i would say

@mellow breach you can't disable hdcp on a PS3, and we respect the copyright protection - so we can not recommend anything to avoid that on hdmi - but the ps3 can also output via composite which does not feature hdcp if you want to use composite you would need an adapter like that

I would be using a USB Cam Link for the video capture and just using the laptop for running OBS, Discord, etc. I would not be doing any serious gaming on the laptop itself. Hi there! I stream through obs on a mac, using the hd60s+, astro mixamp, and xbox. Currently, im getting a terrible echo. Gunfire sounds bad, and xbox party chat is very noticeable with the echo. Ive spoken with the obs discord folks, and theyve confirmed that i have obs set up properly, and that it must be related to the game capture or mixamp softwares. Does anyone know of a fix here? I was never an issue until i downloaded the wavelink software. I have completely removed it, but the issue remains.

I am trying to capture my Xbox series s and mic and be able to hear both of them in my own headphones and can do both just not together so if I have just my mic and soundcard connected to my pc and only have my headset connected to the splitter cable I can hear my mic fine but as soon as I plug in my Xbox controller the sound for the mic goes and I just get game audio unplug controller and of course game audio goes but mic comes back I would believe there is a way to hear both as both do get captured if I do a recording or stream but I can not hear mic as soon as the controller gets connected

i seem to have an issues here dual pc stream setup hd60 pro.. so on the streaming pc i have a headset and it is chosen on the task bar settings.. everything like the browser music etc plays though the headset . so on the gaming pc when i choose the elgato option to direct sound to the streaming pc.. the sound on the streaming pc only comes through the monitor and not the headset.. but all other sounds come out of the headset..

Hi all! I have an issue with Arma Reforger, when i stream or rec a session the radio communication and the proximity chat don't get captured. It seems like they never exist for the OBS software, it seems like they aren't considered an audio track! From the OBS Discord they said that maybe here we can find a resolution to the problem! Hey all, Is there a need for a custom EDID for elgato 4k 60 mk2 pro to work with 165hz monitors? My setup is gaming pc hdmi to streaming pc in of capture card and then going out to my dell 165z refresh rate monitor. When looking at its resolution options in nvidia or windows display settings it doesn't list 1920x1080p for pc resolution. only list 1920x1080p under the uhd hdtv options. Any help would be great. unfortunately according to elgato website here https://help.elgato.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051938572-Elgato-Capture-Devices-and-120Hz-High-Refresh-Rate only these support 120hz These devices support 120Hz input and capture:

Elgato Game Capture HD60 X
Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro
Elgato Game Capture 4K60 Pro MK.2

Being you have the hd60 S model it will not pass through the 120hz. Unless someone knows a way of to clone a console monitor your only option would be to return your current capture card and purchase the correct model. Then it's as simple as running the hdmi from your series x to the capture card and capture card hdmi output to your 120hz capable tv. For now your tv will only see 60hz.

I'm having a bit of an issue with my Elgato HD capture card and OBS. For some reason, OBS can't seem to detect the capture card as a source, even though it works perfectly fine in the Elgato game capture software.

I've tried everything I can think of - I've uninstalled and reinstalled OBS, updated drivers, rolled back to older drivers, and even formatted my computer, but nothing seems to be working.

hey i need some help with my elgato hd60s, its telling my that the "device requires usb 3.0" im using a 3.0 cable and its plugged in the correct port and its still not working. ive looked at every youtube video and no help

are you using the usb 3.0 cable the capture card came with? and lets go over your steps. Did you install the software and driver?

okay couple things to try here.

click your windows icon, choose settings, choose privacy, choose camera, and make sure there windows allows use of your camera.
