My dad once had to go to the hospital because he didn’t get enough fluids in his body on a long car trip. Not drinking enough water, especially on a hot day that would cause you to perspirate water from your body even faster than usual, is very bad.
Like Clayton said, start with little sips. That way you won’t overwhelm your body, and if you do, well, at least it will be less of a mess.
