The candle meter stages are called « chevrons »

They are used to shorten the amount of wax necessary to get one candle, with effectiveness decreasing the more you get in a single day

Every time you gain enough wax for a candle, the chevron decreases. When you get 5, the amount of wax recquired for a candle increases slightly

When you got 15 candles, you « used » all your chevrons and candle collecting becomes much slower

If you manage to get another 5 candles anyway (making 20 candles total) your candle will turn gray, and candle collection becomes almost non-existent

not normally, no. you can trick the game into thinking you didn't get the orbit wl, if you close the game quickly the literal second you see the credits on your screen, wait a few minutes, then re-open the game, you should be reborn successfully without a cape. that's how i finished revival quests on my capeless
