I just looked it up and the temperature I enjoy my tea at (~47°C) is still over 100°F

I mostly call myself old in jest, I am just a humble Remembrance-born skykid, but I suppose at this point I count as something of a vet since I've been around for about eight seasons, have seen several repeat TS and have known my way around the game and guided moths for a good while

It took me many, many months of going to Eden every week and many, many periods of being short or average moth height, but I finally managed it this past May now I wish spirits would stop giving me resize spells, the sight of them fills me with fear of accidentally using one-

No kidding, I was like "Why in the name of Eden do you wish me to play Resize Roulette??" Which I kind of still need to because I wish to be the shortest instead, but well, you know how are things with bloody Resize Potions.

I´m 1-2 categories taller than a chibi currently and it has served me well, given I´ve went through all of Storm Lock 3 times without dying.

That explains where all those potions suddenly in my inventory came from Resize potions are a cruel thing, though, whatever the height you want is, that's the last thing you'll get I was the shortest height for a while and while trying to get there, I kept getting super tall.

with the way our emote menu looks like at this point with its arbitrary sorting system for the first couple emotes on the list and it being one long block of emote after emote
i'm fine with only having the one emote from the storybook guide
yes we have the favorites wheel but sometimes you want to use an emote as a one-off thing which doesn't necessarily warrant it taking up a slot on the wheel
i'd suggest they let us search our emote menu or let us sort the thing (whether by realm or basegame/seasonal or our own custom sorting system that makes sense to us)

I don't think it's likely that Aurora or The Little Prince seasons will repeat, the encore for Aurora was pretty unique but we never know. You can share your hopes for the seasons to return in #live-feedback but there's no guarantee it's possible since the seasons would require collaborators to confirm a rerun.

As for not being able to go to the concert, you can always visit #looking-for-group-live to ask for concert ubers from those who have the wings

I miss the camera trick so much. It was what got me through the game as a solo moth and it was cool to see how the tech could be used to help others in the community. I only used them if there was no help. I’ve been really upset about that and a clip I used on cr since the patch. I haven’t had motivation to cr since then.

Rat update, they trust me more and more, less running away and freezing, they still flinch when I move suddenly but they now take treats out my hands (even if they do it rather aggressively because they aren't socialised and don't know what gentle means

If the room was already open though when they made the memory I don’t see how that’s a hack. It was helpful when there was no one there to help. It’s clear when one was hacked by the camera angle and movement vs someone warping to a friend who was at the area or to trigger a door opening. It’s still helping people when your server is empty or not full. If they aren’t going to fix the merges not appearing in those areas first then the trick should’ve stayed. At least it was helpful and collaborative to the values of Sky by using those who need it and aren’t there in that same server or instance.

i think the amount of items + the high price of the items for the cost of candles is the root of burnout. it's the fact that you have to max grind for DAYS to get just one rug that costs 90 candles and then after that you gotta grind in the timeframe availability for one cape that costs 70, not including the 20-30 candles it costs to unlock the ability to buy that cape.

i think they're counting on people to get burnt out, so those people would be more likely to purchase candles, or just get IAPs (since IAPs are better looking anyways) and plus buying IAPS save you time which is the one thing alot of people don't have enough of, and is the one you need to have alot of, if you want to keep up with the items... actually scratch that, i feel like its alot of work just to get ONE item.

If I get burnout I’ll usually have a break for like a week, though I will admit Sky is the kind of game where you seem to miss like 3 events whenever you have a break

it's that constant tension between merchants and customers - one wants to take money, the other wants to save it. a prudent company will be able to walk that balancing act and make some profit without mistreating and losing customers, but I'm told it's pretty difficult haha. customers on their part should be fair about their complaints and expectations, but it's also customers' role to bring genuine complaints to light so that devs can correct them for the benefit of both sides

Tbh I’d rather pay for a full version of Sky (past seasons / cosmetics) or a subscription to have access to it than the current model. It’s more of a commitment for players and devs. Tbf the only reason I began playing was because it was free and not pay to play (no ads either), but after committing almost a year to Sky I’d pay for it like any normal game. There’s pros and cons to it. And TGC is not as predatory as people make it seem.

I don’t have a solid take on this. This is just my current opinion after 10.5 months of playing.

Oh I agree. I don’t have an answer. But after Pocket Camp ended and they moved to an “offline version” I’m curious what would happen to Sky when that time comes.

For sure. This is my first online MMO (unless Club Penguin & ToonTown count and I never did much in either ) so there’s a lot I’m learning. I simply just don’t understand since we don’t have to pay to fly or enter any realm or do a shard. It is completely free. As an adult and full time student I appreciate it, but as someone who loves games I can see how it could be better.

I didn’t even know it was on Switch until the end of this past December. I even followed Sky’s instagram in 2020 during Enchantment so I should’ve known.

i first started when enchantment came out so... 2020, and seeing how much this game has progressed with new content, aurora concert, and all is just amazing. the one IAP i felt was pretty fair for what it was, would be the aurora wings. which was 25 bucks. because it's not just the cosmetic is also the function of being able to bring your friends and revisit the concert.

my chief complaint with tgc is actually the outdated ts model, which is less predatory and more inconvenient and frustrtaing. like, I'd actually spend money for some of these items, but they won't let me!!

ts apparently used to come every week when they were first implemented and everyone thought it was too grindy so they changed it to what we have now i think it would be neat if we could pick which spirit we want to see or if once you see a ts once, you can buy from them whenever you want

i think right now the game is growing to where it's like too many items (all high price in candles) and not enough time and candles to go around to get them and not enough time to keep up with it all. i remember they released an article at some point addressing the economy... and from the way they were talking about it it seems they made their decisions on limitations and adjustments based off of people who try to 100%, when i don't believe that is the majority of the community.

I don't try for 100% completion either - only the items I'm actually interested in. The current TS is a good example - I don't like any of its cosmetics, so I just got the wing buff and nothing more.

oof, idk how they do it despite the odds. i guess it must be satisfying having such a huge wardrobe at this point if they been at it for more than one year, but like you said, not good for mental health because its never gonna end.

id say with my playtime being from 2020 on and off, i have less than 20% considering all the things ive passed up... seasons and TS, etc-but i still have had moments where i had to break my whole bank for just one TS, after a month of daily geyser, granny, turtle. idk the payout after all the effort doesnt feel satisfying.

on the one hand i don't like the game design causing FOMO, especially in a game marketed to kids
on the other, only ults really fully exploit FOMO as much as they can, which is a small portion of the game, and the company does need a way to make money
so all in all i'm not the biggest fan of their strategy, but i don't hate them or put them in the same bag as Hoyo

i think one thing that could help, or at least something for them to try (so they could have the numbers and see if it's more or still profitable)- would be to lower the prices of returning IAPs by several dollars (if its a 10-30 dollar item) . If they wanna have their high prices then sure why not the brand new ones. justified by being "brand new item" ✨ and they get to have it when it comes out.

but as the price would be lowered the next time it comes around- it'll give people that are team "yeah 18 dollars for a cape is crazy work but i still wanna support the game" be now like "oh- now its 14 dollars, ok that's doable" or at this point in 2 years "nice it's not a double digit price for one item, ill get it" granted they would have to wait 1-3 years. (which is a LONG time)

but i think TGC would rather have 3 people pay 20 dollars than 7 people pay 15 dollars...

they would still be able to have it during those years, the people who are waiting for the price to lower don't have it. it depends on what that person values. they pay to have it right as it comes out.

i don't think prices decreasing/getting discounted on older items over time is a foreign thing for games. if anything i feel like prices that stay stagnant as years passes is really unusual in my experience with the games ive played. (other mmos)

Maybe in the future they'll introduce some way to reintroduce old Ultimates (Maybe like how overwatch does it, where every season you can redeem one, with new ones coming in and a period where the newest is exclusive. Though less scummy, I doubt they will add another currency for that though)

The thing is, the season passes also offer ults and more seasonal candles (yay money) along with the TS stuff, so I don't have much of a problem with TS cosmetics being IGC when they return
(Though if ults were to ever come back, even though they likely won't, I'd rather have them return as IAPs and never as IGC items)

i still think there will be alot of people who are more than willing to purchase the item when it comes out. wether it's because they have the funds and just want it now, or if they are impulse buyers, whatever the reason. especially when the other option is "wait 1+ year for it to come back, with the addition of a new item that is still also high priced" since theyre always adding something new every year for every event anyways.

like i said before on how discounts on older items being a common thing in other games, ive never seen an mmo have stagnant pricing throughout the years.

i think lowering prices as a whole is a good strategy since it both makes getting items you like a lot more accessable and since it's cheaper, it incentivizes more players to buy. a lot of the community doesnt get IAPs, candle bundles and etc. because of the hostile prices. it gives moths a bigger chance to catch up too

I think to keep the "ultimate" aspect

clear out all of the spirit trees from TS from a season
and then you can buy it at a $10 season price tag

basically its the same amount of money, hell, maybe even more work. But its kind of like, if you were there before, you got it easy
