Ghibli would be more strict than Moomin now. I wish we could have it, but I doubt people would be happy with it. I do respect that they leave their films as is. No sequels. The Spirited Away play was fantastic too, and didn’t stray too much from the film. (Also those are fairly normal adaptations. Anime plays are quite common. That one was so good. )

Many went on their way, but the fishermans curiousty urged him to stay and finally solve the mystery behind this cat. The sun began to set, and the fisherman grew tired, but just before he was ready to leave he noticed the cat leaving the alley, and heading towards the river

He trailed the feline, keeping his distance and trying to stay out of the it's view. The black cat eventually made it to the river, the fisherman watching closely from across the street, wondering what the cat was doing, as it slowly stepped into the water and disappeared into the inky blackness

The fisherman ran across the street his eyes wide, he came to the edge of the dock and peered into the river, the light from the street lamps making it impossible to see through even the shallowest area

The white cat led the fisherman to the alley where the black cat had been seen, but in place of the solid brick wall on the far side there stood an archway

The white cat stood in the archway, staring at the man once more as if beckoning him forward. The fisherman took a moment to gather his thoughts before making his way down the alleyway, through the arch and into a garden park which he'd never seen before, the trees bore fruit and the flowers where vibrant as if it was spring. The man was confused, and seeking any sort of answer he looked back to where the archway and the white cat had been, seeing only a statue at the edge of the vast garden
