Nine-Coloured Deer, which was the season before this one! And older spirits do. New seasons enter the TS roulette in the same order that the seasons initially released. So Performance will be followed by Shattering, which will be followed by Aurora, and Aurora by Remembrance, and so on.

Candles depend! You can have as cheap as about 80 or so candles with the likes of Sassy Drifter or Nodding Muralist. Or you can have the Flight spirits, which cost in excess of 200 if you get everything.

Hearts and AC remain consistent, though. It's usually I think 13 hearts, only 3 of which are mandatory? If I recall correctly? And always 2 AC.

Do you think they prefer warm or cold climates, or is it a matter of preference? Does their inner flame make them tolerant to cold or avoidant of it? Would they like roaming in a desert, or would they not like such intense heat?
Imagine a Sky kid running around in the summer heat then coming over for a hug and they feel like hugging an oven-

Also I have a half-formed concept of a character getting turned into a skykid, and even when they turn back human they keep some traits. They run warmer than usual, their eyes glow, they hum or chirp occasionally, and when they jump they seem to float a little

I think it’s probably up to preference wether they like the hot or cold
We can see them sweat and shiver with certain emotes which leads me to believe they do feel it, it just probably doesn’t have much of an effect on their bodies I’m guessing

I personally imagine temperature doesn't really bother them! With one exception - Eden. Because skykids have that internal fire, the cold is pleasantly refreshing for them, whereas heat is outright healthy! Eden, on the other hand, is bitterly cold and draining to them. Even if every skykid can make it to PNR in the game itself, in my own personal headcanon, it takes a rare skykid to be able to muscle through the cold for long enough to actually make it to the summit.

In general, they dislike cold climates, especially windy ones

While they like heat and the desert, dry desert would tire then out after a while: nothing to burn through/eat?

That reminds me of how all of the Trials have cold vibes. Even if the Earth and Fire don't have visible ice like Water and Air, Fire has the Skykids losing light and being snuffed out in the dark, and the Earth trial... It's hard to word it. It has the feel of being up in space, almost.

To me that raises the question of if they actually feel it, or if they simply mimic what the spirits show them. You shiver when it's cold and sweat when it's hot, that's just how it's done.
The skykids and the spirits are different "species", aren't they? I'm still a little confused on how that works sometimes. The spirits are spirits, but they still "live" in the village, so

it's not a glitch to have less wings when you come back from eden. the whole point is that you distribute your winged light to the statues or otherwise lose it all to the store anyway so that you're able to go up to the light and be reborn

everyone comes back home with only as many Wing buffs as they've earned from ascending spirits

That part was a doozy for me, too, if I'm right. But that part loops around. If you go straight through and turn left, then right, you should be able to get through to the end of that section.

Like Magpie said, the easiest way to tell where you're supposed to go is if the shadows are going along there. They tend to stick to the beaten path. If you're uncertain about safe zones, any three-candle cluster is safe.

Best advice i can give for fire is to increase brightness of the device if possible
Otherwise some of the candles of the path are too far into the darkness to be visible
And that is not fun

That sounds about right, perhaps. Heading towards you?

It kind of goes in a square shape, so if you're approaching from the final checkpoint that floor, the exit should be at the top left corner, if you can visualise it.

@faint nova If it helps, Fire Trial has three total 'floors'! Four, technically, but the fourth floor is home free.
And hopefully you shouldn't! About 90% of that time was on floor 2, so once you're past that, you're doing a lot better than I am.

@earnest hearth Deep calling can help with that, too! Not well, but it can light up the silhouettes of the candles.

Good luck, both of you! Floor 3 might seem intimidating, but it's a lot easier to navigate, besides that one big room between the second and third checkpoint. (Turn a right as soon as you enter it.) There's also a secret safe candle along that route, though I don't know how to describe it besides 'in the corner of the trail'.

Let's see... some additional stuff I can share about Jag:

I came up with him during NCD, so I ended up finishing the questline as him. So I've worked that into his lore! After the Eden disaster he went through, while trying to decide what to do next, he remembered his home region (at that point, pretty badly corrupted due to the lack of its protective guardian) and decided to return home to try and figure out what's going on.

Questline 1-4 is of a completely different denizen in the past, who was a friend to the deer, and that essentially follow's Jag's investigation into what happened as he learns more and more. While Quest 5 is Jag pretty much breaking into the palace to free the deer and fix things up to the best of his ability.

Considering he outright ran from Eden, being able to actually help a part of the Sky kingdom gives him quite the boost in confidence.

Asteris is... definitely much more serious and ruthless than Astreos for sure but feel quite lost due to the nature and cause of their existence. They do like the piano and the quiet of night time though.

Aethel is the first skykid to be born in the sky kingdom after a very, very long time since it fell.
Daath directly serves the megabird in orbit.
Nix is one of the first and is the most powerful dark skykid.
Astreos has a shard of [Redacted]'s soul, resulting in Asteris

Also they're all part of special subspecies of skykid that directly have a small fraction of the megabird's most potent light.

Rhin (short for Antirrhinum) half light dragon, half skykid

• Her favorite realm is Daylight Prarie! She loves the nature and animals she sees there, especially in sanctuary islands
• Her full name is the classification name for Snapdragon, which was given to her by her grandparents
• Whenever she's alone, she likes to play songs on her lute that were passed down by her family
• She was born after the war/the fall of the kingdom of Sky, so she never really met anyone outside of her parents and grandparents
• Speaking of her grandparents they're both light dragons! Her parents are the first generation to create a hybrid child like her
• She loves to fly and explore, she's always curious and wanting to learn about new things and new people
• Her favorite food apple bread, because her parents often made it for her as a small child
• And for the final one, Rhin actually has a dragon tail! It's very small so it ends up hidden under her cape, but if you ever look closely you'll find it ^^ she can use it to express emotions too

So... here's some extra info about Jag, I guess!

• He's the oldest known living skykid at about fifteen years, but the youngest skykid of his generation.
• Skykids have a culture of giving titles to people that are of note to them, but that they don't know the name of. Jag's well known enough that the people who don't know him call him the Wistful Sentinel.
• You would think Jag's past experiences would keep him out of Eden. It does not. He knows that there's no stopping any skykid who hears the calling, and so he'll guide them up to the last point he knows is safe. (It's this that gives him his title.)
• Jag might be a wanderer, but you can reliably find him in Vault, recording his adventures for the benefit of future skykids. On days where he's feeling a little melancholy, he can be found ruminating in the Repository, though. He feels some kinship with the spirits that still inhabit the place.
• Outside of headcanon, Jag was (accidentally) named after a character from Cattails! It was just the first name that appeared in my head with him. In headcanon, however, skykids choose their own names, and Jag chose his after one of his earliest memories - the jags and crags of Crescent Oasis.
• Jag thinks music is awesome! Too bad he has zero musical ability. He has tried. Someone threw a plush at him.

Okay Skykid backstory i skyified and censored it enjoÿ

Aciano was born in eden however was kicked out of their home by their parents and is the lowest (?) rank, they had to beg for food and they hunted for food, they were practically used to not eating

then suddenly the shadow king decided to force aciano and other eden skykids they considered "in bad conditions" to cover the sky realms with darkness and hurt every spirit, for aciano, it was valley, however unlike other skykids they felt so bad, to ruin such a beautiful realm that they decided to try and run away

however the valley spirits found them, and didn't know the shadow king's plan, so they decided to take in aciano and raise them like family, however slowly the shadow king started to seep darkness into valley due to Aciano's kindness and love for the realm, so they had to give them away to wind paths, who soon understood what happened and decided to adopt them, then they gave aciano a cafe where they can eat anything without begging for it, so aciano is so grateful that they decided to help the wind paths in the cafe and eventually own it when they're old enough, and valley of triumph found out what truly happened and decided to join Aciano's family again

it's not fully fleshed out and is more a rough idea so it might change :3

Aciano told like almost everything to Forest elders and trusts them with everything, they have an inseparable bond and though sometimes Forest elder is unavailable, Aciano can always depend on them when things get dark and they're at their worst

While i did mention Aciano was Scared of the 2 Valley elders, Aciano still loves them, but in more of a reunion way, and Aciano wants them to be recognized and wants to make them happy and proud, also while Aciano knows that they care, they don't know if they reciprocate the same type of understanding, and views them as more immature than Forest elder, but they still bond like a family, just differently

TL:DR : Aciano wants to make Valley happy, Forest wants Aciano Happy

If you all don't mind some additional OC stuff, I do have Shadow and Rosa as well! They're a little (or a lot) less exciting than Jag, but I kind of like them for it.

• Rosa hails from the Prairie Peaks! She's spent a lot of time learning about its wildlife as a result. For how agreeable and mild-mannered she might seem from the outset, she's surprisingly intrepid as a result. The same person who'll sit on the beach for ages and pet manatees will happily wrassle a moray just for fun.
• Shadow, on the other hand, is from Golden Wasteland. Specifically, Forgotten Ark, which they helped to restore. It's the one respite in Wasteland that's safe from (most) krills, besides that one in the cliffs. They live there alone, but do their best to maintain the place and survive there.
• The two of them met in Valley of Triumph - Rosa happened to be visiting for the fun of it, while Shadow had wanted to explore the world beyond their desolate wastes. They immediately bonded over a shared love of wildlife, and have been sticking together ever since.
• Basically my headcanon storyline for Moments (and this Days of Nature, I guess!) is that Rosa is showing Shadow the sights of her home region. They find it a tiny bit overwhelming, but they're still happy to spend time with her.
• Both of them like to play music. Rosa likes the ukulele, and Shadow likes the ocarina.
• Of all of my skykid OCs, Rosa is the most likely to actually take part in the Nesting thing. She likes designing her own little place to live, even if the Peaks are still home to her. Shadow isn't quite willing to leave Wasteland permanently, and Jag gets squirrelly if he's in one place for too long.

Some concrete things I've laid out

• Resh and Alef are different people
• Resh was born first and is basically the oldest skykid ever (if you can call them alive with their current state)
• Alef died earlier than Resh due to an accident
• Resh and Alef had their own little respite spot in the little pond in vault where the office portal is
• Alef was a prankster and liked to doodle on Isle Elder's boats and stole Wasteland Elder's spear a couple of times
• Resh was more serious than Alef but did love to tinker with diamonds
• Resh's irises turned dark overtime due to much more prolonged exposure to darkness and darkstone compared to their siblings (except Nix)
• Resh was excellent with the spear while Alef preferred the sword
• Resh and Alef both loved the special flowers that dotted the Starlit Desert
• Resh is much much taller than the average skykid.
• Resh was broken apart by the blast of the eden diamond. Their soul is bound within it to this very day.
• "They say darkness did not have something to unite on unlike the light with the megabird. However, soon enough, it did find someone to unite with and it was unfortunate enough that the fallen king had to be chosen."
