I think Winter is a bit better than Summer because in Winter you can bundle up as much as you want, stay warm and everything, but if its Summer theres a possibility your AC wont work properly or at all, can risk getting heat stroke, probably be clothless and still be sweating bullets. Idk but yeah.

I also gave my sky mom, a mother's day gift as well. I met her when I was a two week old moth struggling with the drag quest in forest. She was the first person that would talk to me/friend me

So when I came back to the game and saw her online, I ran to the speed of sound to see her again. And she was so happy to see me again

But point is, mother's day is coming and I know I'll be a bit busy but I'll hang out with her for mother's day.

I even played a song for her too! I recommend just hanging out with your sky parents if they're still here and tell them how much you appreciate them

So I was awake in the pre-Sunrise AM hours and decided to hop on. I last stopped looking for spirits in Isle Of Dawn and held off doing the Passage Guide's requests. Did it today in the morning and... OMG!! I LOVE THESE QUESTS SO MUCH! I feel like the Passage of Alignment, Assistance and the others really encompass the spirit of Sky! I know Sky in general conditions players into cooperating but these were a perfect wY to start my morning! I love the fact players unanimously agree to emote play until thr timer runs down And the ghastly purple ghosts that occasionally turn out to be players near Passage Stone really adds a layer of mysticism! The Eclipse (solar I think?) is so dreamy! And I love the way the Passage quests seems to imply that adolsecents are go these rites as a way of teaching them character building so that one day when they become older, they help build communities as others before them. I also love the sneak jokes as them being teenagers who just wanna mess around and Passage Guide is like --> 😤 The teenagers were cool though. And most importantly I just LOVED playing with others in the Passages so much!!

Nope, it's still there if you swim all the way back down to the abyss where you first escaped from it! It does despawn from the main treasure reef where the krill are though.

I don't like Eden. Personally I go for leisure route of doing it just once a week. Doing it twice in a short span wouldn't sit well with me personally, but it would maximize your ACs (provided you get enough WL and do it well on both runs)

I actually really enjoyed Eden, was super intense, but I had no idea what I was doing so I'm not sure I got many of the statues. Now I think I'm a bit more prepared and I've managed to get to level 7 in WL again, which might not be huge but I'm a fairly casual player.

That said, the advice from @uncut nimbus about taking breaks and not getting burned out is big - I've been completely hooked on this game this week, and I only discovered it last Sunday.

okay this conversation feels like something to break character for, so thats what im gonna do. the entire system of TSes and seasons and ults and all that is hinged on fomo. its completely stupid and essentially forces you to play the game by making you feel crabby if you dont, rather than making you WANT to play instead. thats why i havent played sky in so long. everything is so hinged on fomo that it started affecting my mental state to the point if i didnt play i'd start feeling like i was going to miss out on something. which, i can sort of deal with, but for younger players, or other neurodivergent players, can be overwhelming in some cases. i understand that they're a business first, and have to make money, but personally i dont think the current model of fomo farming is very sustainable, because eventually people are going to get burned out and stop playing. if you want to make a game that people actually want to play without worrying about burnout, the most important thing is not overwhelming them with anxiety about missing out on things, or making them feel crabby for not being in the game sooner. i wonder when tgc will learn that.

Got to be honest, I think the format of Sky is what kind of exacerbates the problem. IAPs and FOMO kind of go hand-in-hand, from what I've seen in this server. Sky's a free mobile game that's pretty much an MMO, which necessitates constantly-running servers. Which, of course, requires money. So the big concern is, what can Sky even really do otherwise? I can almost guarantee ads would drive off a good portion of the playerbase. And I don't know how they'd also respond to an up-front payment, or a subscription fee like you'd see in the likes of World of Warcraft.

Granted, the system could definitely do with changes, but there's also the concern that not much can be done otherwise.

Saying that, though, free FOMO could be heavily changed, that's for certain. (Almost forgot where this conversation started, oops.)

I've been wondering that too! From what I've heard, sky's general profit comes from players who purchase season passes/exclusive or limited-time items, merch, etc. to keep ahead of the bigger crowd. If everything becomes accessible to all, it would nullify the need to purchase anything (eg: a pass). Plus, the game company itself--including its employees--doesn't run on winged light alone. (This is just my humble opinion, alright? )

giving players more time is probably helpful to reduce the amount of grinding necessary

Im a social butterfly and an extrovert- but I get some social anxiety when I am meeting new people cause I want to make a good first impression and Ive also gotten feedback before that I was exhausting. >.> I try not to be tho.

I especially dislike it when I have to go in a crowded public space, even now. I go GO AWAAAAAYYYYYYY silently because I hate random people. I’m also nonverbal at times, so I feel the same way (in a different context?)

I have a couple of generic hiking hats (no dinosaurs, sadly), but I really like the looks of them anyway, so I like them! They'd be cooler with dinosaurs, but... still good.

Nice bonus is, because of their strap thingy, it's easy to just push them off your head and have them sit at your back if you're indoors.

I can imagine that must be really rough. I'm the sort of person who kind of likes to huddle up inside and away from people, so it only impacts me to a certain extent, but dealing with it while also being an extrovert? Can't say I envy that part of it.

If we're talking dinosaurs, I actually got myself a little dinosaur plush a couple of days ago! Had some extra money to spend on a gift card, so she was a bit of an impulse buy. But she is very cute.
