fun fact: i just found this out, if you go in prairie and wait in the area where the butterfly spirit is, if you wait for the shards to happen, you can see a red spot in the sky indicating where the shards are

I decided to take a break after the Aurora event because the pressure of grinding for dailies, event tickets and wax every day started to affect my mental health, so I haven’t been active here either.

If you play with friends that you have unlocked piggy back with, they can hold a white candle while playing. So you’d get instant recharged and don’t really need any wedges at all to fly all the time.

Helping new players has been one of the most rewarding aspects of playing Sky, for sure!
I actually kept count and I’ve befriended and helped over 90 moths since I started. It’s been soo much fun to hear the ones who stuck around come and tell me about their progress, and how some even started to adopt their own moths when they felt brave enough to do it.

Even with more experienced players. That’s why I offer to uber to Eden a lot.
It’s a nice humbling feeling that no matter how “rich” we were when entering Eden, we will all be reduced to the same level, and struggle the same at the end.
It’s very bonding imo.

I was thinking of doing the wedge markings on the base capes. But I don’t want it over my spine since I want to do a larger back piece one day. And I haven’t figured out another placement yet..

I’m a huge Aurora fan, and was long before I even started playing Sky. But I live in Sweden, so I think she got more attention here before she got bigger abroad. And I remember how happy I got when I found out she made music for the game.
And ofc even more excited when they dedicated an entire season to her.

I think I’ve been very blessed with being adopted into a great Sky family that consists mostly of even more experienced players. And we all become very close and didn’t focus on grinding at all. So we took turns and ubered everyone else for the daily grind, while the rest were chatting and socialising. So it really took the pressure away.
I don’t think I would’ve lasted this long without them.

Oh absolutely! I think having good friends with you is so important Tbh i think thats what eventually burnt me out so much, i was greying out my candle ever day for months by myself! Made me look at the environments by how much wax they could give me and not what i actually enjoyed doing i think i was only getting cosmetic for the sake of it and not what i actually would wear

But ive had some absolutely amazing experiences with the people in this game. The amount of times j can recall a fuzzy feeling in my chest due to the kindness of others is immense. Its all had an impact on me Ive always felt a little weird trying to talk to people here but honestly i think socialising one of the most essential parts. Having a space to just hang out is so important, and to be able to share the burden of candle runs? Incredible!

I def get the collecting cosmetics but never really wear it!
I think I kinda completed my oc very early on in the game and usually kept the same style ever since. I always used the more masculine, long hair with some kind of decoration in them. And the base “Forest Elder” mask(I don’t remember the spirits name, but it’s in vault iirc) was a constant for almost 2 years.
But I’ve completed every season 100% since Assembly. I missed 100% completion on Dreams and remember I was sooo sad that I didn’t get the cape(even if I didn’t really like it tbh), and I think that kinda put pressure on me to complete all the following seasons.
I also think, that since I mostly played with more experienced players, they always had stuff I wanted or I felt a bit left out when they played with stuff I didn’t have.

Yeah! I think thats why i liked starting new so much, it does have the... baggage? of my old account. Kind of just want to take things more slowly, maybe hang out with people more i think ultimate gifts were the absolute worst for me! The element of never being able to get it again made me grind a TON for things i didnt really care for looking back on it.
I was a dreams moth! Absolutely ADORED the rabbit and ultimate gifts, i think my positive association may have driven me to try and complete all the others? Idk
Ooo i totally get feeling left out though! Its so common! I keep seeing people with the things i used to wear or yearn for and feels so strange!

I totally get burning out from candle running every day , there used to be a period of time where i'd get like 18-20 candles every day and if i didnt reach that many candles each time i'd get anxious
not very good at making friends in sky so being alone didnt help
although what got me out of it was ✨ the camera ✨
i started just walking around instead of running to catch the geyser and grandma
i'd go around and just take lots of pretty pics and that helped me out a ton

so whenever i feel burnt out in sky but dont wanna pause playing i just grab the camera and walk around taking pretty pics and just overall tryna have fun with it

i think it's neat that sky has such a wide age range in its playerbase like most of the people i meet are in their late teens but it's not uncommon to find players in their 30s or little kids with their parents

i met a moth in the eye of eden and we helped each other the whole way through!! they even made it to the water, and after i grabbed the last statue i had just enough wl to double back and run out next to them

the light appears to still have an issue where you cant friend someone in there, but luckily we remained in the same server at home so i was able to friend them there!

true i do love the simplicity of the no face mask a lot , which id likely make my main mask along w the chibi, white cape is very simple and beautiful and id love it with the bloom hair and fire prophet pants i wear all the time , but maybe leaving white cape for last (last of the base cosmetics i really want besides elder stuff) since its also the most expensive (i have everything else base constellations i really want besides those two items and forest elder hair and mask, all the other items ill unlock on my own time when i feel like it type of thing since im not crazy over any other base cosmetic)

yeah I'd say legends arceus albeit I personally had more fun with Shield (though the story is not very good and it handholds you until you finish it)

I think my personal order, from most recommended to least, would be Legends > SwSh > ScarVi. Legends is a really fun game with interesting mechanics, though you’ll probably get more out of it if you’ve played a Gen 4 game. SwSh has some really low lows (the story is bad and it’s arguable how difficult it is), but also some really high highs to go with it (fun characters and a good Pokédex). And ScarVi has a good story, but I personally found its region boring, and its set of gym leaders incredibly forgettable in a direct contrast to SwSh.

oh, another point towards ScarVio. it's fairly easy to complete the pokedex if you grind at it, which means even MORE upped shiny chances ❤️ if that's something that matters to you

I find that SwSh’s biggest strength is in versatility. One of my personal rules for going through SwSh is, including a rotating team to prevent overlevelling. It both keeps me within the level cap (and when you ban Dynamax alongside that, the games actually have a shocking number of tricky battles), and lets you get attached to more Pokemon.

scarvio is really good about pokemon interaction if you care about that sort of thing feeding my pokemon the world's nastiest sandwiches and having them run around with me is almost as good as the petting features from the 3ds games

I have honestly always struggled with pokemon games cause in my head using items was wrong until my twin told me to start using them to heal my pokemon mid battle so for years the pokemon games to me were really hard

I've been playing the new releases in order since black/white (the region I got into pokemon with) and stopped after sun and moon (haven't played ultra); but I'll try to get legends first around December.

I like the battles, but I've been trying to pick up shiny hunting around sun and moon since I got my first shiny charm there.
I've played fire red, most of gold (had to sell it and the gbc), sapphire, diamond, b/w (2), x/y, or/as, sun/moon so far; not including conquest or rangers.

I got my first shiny in violet, it was a murkrow and I love her so much but my luck with shinies is not that good, like it's absolutely awful

I mean, to be fair, a lot of us only used our starters for years. I played that way until BW, when I used my first full team - and I’ve been playing since Blue. I think challenging ourselves in unnecessary ways is all part of the Pokémon rite of passage.

Though hey! Even if you have bad shiny luck, at least you got a really good first one. Better than a Meowth! Persian, sadly, doesn’t exactly have the most noticeable shiny.

And then finally, in Y, I found an Axew I finally got to keep.
