Dumb question, but is there any way to make the flight in the switch version more "maneuverable?" By that I mean I can't seem to make as sharp of turns with a controller as I can using a touch screen like in the mobile version using a touch screen.

I assume you mean the spins? If there is a way I have yet to find it, there seems to be a cooldown on doing spins on Switch if you just hold the button and direction. I wiggle the joystick out of habit but I don't know if it actually helps, I might have just tricked myself into thinking it does.

not that i know of i usually make sharp turns by spinning but for some reason the "roll to turn quickly" button is the SAME BUTTON as the "stop all your momentum" button if you try to spin quickly your skid just fumbles around in the air

And it looks like currency syncs between versions now, or it always did and I just never noticed.

Oh! Yeah it does. From my experience holding down the button and then holding the direction you want to spin seems to be most consistent? But sometimes it just doesn't work?? Might be a skill issue on my end though.

Also I think currency bought on mobile syncs to switch, but currency bought on switch doesn't sync to mobile.

No problem! I'm used to playing on Switch and the only real issue I have is because the spinning can't be spammed as easily, some shortcuts become a little more difficult if they require a lot of them, but I can manage. It is still easier than playing on mobile for me.

Oh also it's a Metroidvania if you like that kind of game.

WAIT oh my god how could I forget about a cute detail in it!? Each of the main bosses you defeat earns you a new traversal ability. Double jump, going underwater, ground-pounding, and so on. One of the bosses gains you a charge ability where the boss charges forwards with his weapon to break apart obstacles in your way. But the cutest thing is that Lily (the protag) clings onto him as he charges and he has his free arm around her to keep her from falling. It's so honking cute I literally had to stop for a moment when I saw it. Even in that bleak world where the dead cannot rest without your help because of the disease that has taken complete control of their body, their spirits help and protect Lily since even if she has the ability to purify someone and allow them to rest, she's still just a child forced to take on the burden of ending the plague because there's literally nobody else who can.

When I 1st started Sky I found it very calming and helpful to my mental health. And although I like some of the updates. I think a few tweaks need to be made for people like me to be able to still enjoy it.

From what I’ve understood so far, the plan with Project Aviary is to create a large area with similar core function to home space, but with many other features, and to feel more like an area to meet new people, which is why I think festival tech will work there, since you can jump between servers easily, and still get back to your friends if needed. Theme park & shopping aspects could be quite interesting, but we won’t really know too much more until it comes to beta later this year, or until more is announced
I do think we’ll get an option to turn off festival tech for ourselves though

If the purpose is to build a social space, we already HAVE gw and prairie lobby, we don't need a bigger one, the anniversary party as an example. i have met 0 new people after even tping to their server, even when i go up to them and light them
another problem is IF there actually will be people in aivary, right now every usage of festival tech is due to some type of functionality (party, concert, season etc), when the reason dissipates and festival tech existing purely due to the reason of socialising, especially when we alreaedy have socialising spaces, seems even more excessive and to some extend futile, will player really use aivary when we ALREADY have a pre-existing system of socialisation?
sky is meant to be elegant and cozy, the feeling of being amidst hundreds of strange, color blocks contradicts that, also if - for whatever purpose aivary is - aivary even fits in the sky kingdom, whether if it's a market place (ark is already like that?), a theme park(entertainment is already provided in the game through watching plays, skiing, it seems excessive to add ANOTHER space, from what i heard from the people in the discord server the response to aivary is negative in terms of its usage of festival tech, but aivary as a whole we don't mind, an old town is fine, an old town used for ambiguous reasons among hundreds of - again, color block floating people - is perhaps not the best

I don’t really want to have any strong opinions on Aviary until we actually beta test it, since that’s when we’ll have a better chance at what it’s like, and TGC can always reduce the number of people shown by festival tech (50-100 maybe, it really depends on the size of the area) but I do see what you mean. My main hope is that Aviary can act as a central hub for everything, while still keeping other areas to have their purpose, think about Aviary possibly being able to suit larger plays (not sure how something like this could work with how festival tech currently works, but it’s an idea) while the Village Theatre is better suited for smaller crowds.

As for a marketplace of sorts, I think Aviary could host more than just a spell shop, (which would be easier to access than going to forgotten ark all the time anyway) there could also be cosmetic shops, I though about a “Retired Spirits” system recently, but I haven’t really thought out the idea much yet.

Oh boy I just found about about the Kids Online Safety Act which is not in fact, going to make things safe online for kids and is instead going to violate rights to privacy and unlawfully seize our private information if it passes. Literally any website we go to, anything we search up, can be legally viewed by the authorities any time they want even if said search is harmless and innocent. What a great way to start my day off wondering if it's going to pass and irreversibly screw up so much.

This isn't good. It isn't lawful, It won't help anyone except the people trying to pass the Act. This is literally what the antagonists in dystopian media do to control the population and keep them subservient so they don't rebel.

but the problem is we don't need a large hub, what even will happen in it? the situation is gonna be friends go to aivary for its primal function as a market place etc, while solo players join, find that they have no one to hang out with, as the color clumps doesn't show anything, then leave, if aivary serves a purpose solely unique, it'll be used as to that purpose, not a social environment, in what game, or even irl, has a 50 people socialisation activity worked, even if it does you're just talking to 2-3 specific people, imagine 50 people sitting on a table? no one is gonna hear what the others have to say, the place is too chaotic, resulting in its ultimate downfall in which nobody goes there anymore without a motive e.g buying spell
furthermore i don't see how buying emote in a specific area would work when we already have constellations, ts, ts group, event ts, more isn't needed
to not sugar-coat this, aivary is ruining what makes this game unique - the delicate, breath taking view now replaced by swarming color blocks, the feeling of hanging out w friends cannot be replicated as this many people only complicates things, also if i wanna hang out i can go literally anywhere else, when new players join their experience goes from a mysterious yet astonishing view in isle, prairie, forest etc to being in a town with colored blocks, floating, everywhere, this will only overwhelm them, and by introducing a large hub, what differs sky from other online games?

I think a solution could be possible to that. TGC has had a lot more practice with concert tech by now, and with the arrival of the Encore concerts we're already aware that it's been able to be improved upon. With some tweaks and reworks, I bet the concert tech could be better integrated with the idea behind the Aviary.

Perhaps you could have a toggle on how many people you want to see. Like just people in your server, maybe 5 other non-server aligned people, then 10, and so on. So it's up to you to decide whether you want the Aviary to be peaceful or full of people.

I've never played Unleashed but I do know that a cutscene in it reveals Eggman has banger taste in games because you can see a Dreamcast and a NiGHTS: Into Dreams box next to it behind him.

I'd say I'd recommend Unleashed if you haven't played it, but... weirdly enough, I've never actually played the HD version? Just the SD one, which was on the Wii.

They typically get referred to as HD and SD, but they're almost two completely different games, from what I hear.

I clipped from underneath, but there's a wall preventing you from heading straight into the next area. I only got past one set of doors that way and ended up locked between them. It might be possible to go parallel with the doors and get past that way, but the wind walls make it really hard

A personal headcanon of mine is that sky kids tend to name themselves after things they come across on their travels that connect with them, be it objects or feelings. It is why a lot of mine have more simple names like that.
