I've been using Medibang Paint Pro, and when I brought it up, someone else in my server called it ransomware, then went on to claim that it locking files that were previously uploaded into the cloud before the subscription expired is illegal, to which I respond that it's user error that you pay and then stop paying but be daft enough to not get your files out. I then bring up that loss of data should be covered in the ToS and go off to read it. Due to my prolonged silence, the other person goes, and I quote, "owned" which I found... incredibly irritating. Give a guy time to read, you know?

So I eventually find the ToS articles that affirm my previous assumption - Medibang has indeed said that they are not responsible for any data lost if a service is terminated. I paste screenshots of it in chat. The respone? "Aint reading allat."

First off, good luck with your essay!

1: Honestly, there’s a bunch of things I like about it. It’s a really chill game, it’s a fun and familiar routine to begin (or maybe even end) my day on. It’s really pretty, and I love the world. And the community is, as someone who’s been in a lot of fandom spaces, is one of the best I’ve been in. No matter what happens, I’m pretty sure the community will keep me coming back.

2: Sky, to me, represents the cycle of kindness. Helping others, particularly new players unfamiliar with the world and the game’s mechanics, is heavily encouraged. And then once those moths grow, they help new moths. Even the game’s ending I personally see as a metaphor: for all the kindness you do in the world, please remember to be kind to yourself, too, is what I feel it’s saying.

3: I don’t know why, but it almost feels like home to me. I can turn up the volume when I’m playing, and the sound of manta chirps feels like the most natural thing in the world, even if we don’t exactly have flying mantas in our own world.

I like the idea that we can use tickets instead of candles for new items, but since it's a new system it definitely needs some tweaking--for example, next anniversary, how will players gather enough tickets to get all the anniversary items? with candles, you can save all year, but tickets can only be gathered during events. we'll just have to give feedback on how we think it should happen, i guess

Yeah, while I like the performances I think it could be done better. Personally I like the idea of having tickets being rewards for participating in little mini-games, like the performance where you go on stage and follow one of the devs around copying the emotes they do, or the rolling obstacle course. It would even make sense for the anniversary, since you often play games at parties. That way it's not just waiting and you can have fun while winning rewards. The copy the dev game could be a game of Simon Says (or maybe Skidmore Says?) for example.
