I find the criteria varies! Everyone has their own opinion on what ‘not a moth’ is. I’d say moths start getting buff once they’ve cleared Eden once, and start to find the seasonal spirits. That’s about when folks start really learning the game. But it could be different for you!

If it helps, I think there are a couple of friendly crabs in Sanc! And there’s always the bonfire crabs.

On the note of crawling, I think I’m the same way. Eden felt like more of a struggle at the end, somehow, despite the lack of crawling. And I liked being able to salute the players with me despite everything.

i think the last patch with bonk damage was either the first half of prophecy or last half of sanctuary because i remember the player who adopted me told me to be careful while flying nowadays if you hit a wall really fast your skid will make heart particles

I always adopt new players, show them the ropes and stuff, and hopefully protect them from Krills...and not get hurt myself

Honestly, fair call on that one. Flying is troublesome enough sometimes without worrying about losing wings because you stubbed your toe on a cliff the wrong way. Some of the things I’ve shed hearts for are absurd.

hahahaaaaa you just gotta open yourself up and actively think through what your characters can and cannot do. if you need something to happen, you gotta maybe make something to make it happen. My epiphany was me connecting two pieces together to fulful a long standing plot point

they'll appear back where they were, but you lose a random one each time you can use the map shrines to help you find them, they show up as white dots

for the most part. Winged lights found in the world will reappear. Wing buffs you lose will only be returned to you upon your finishing of Eden.

wing buffs are always lost last though, so you don't need to worry about going to eden every time you lose a wl

Oh noooooo! Poor moth... Had something similar like that happen to me once with two little just-graduated moths trying their second attempt through Eden. I was trying to help them and it was just when crawling was introduced so I wasn't used to it yet... They kept getting hit, I kept getting hit while trying to help them... I think I lost like 21 WL that day. I remember it as the only time I've ever cussed out a video game while playing. You'd expect that to be, like, a fighting game or a JRPG or something... but nope. I definitely preferred the old limping animation to the crawling animation. Mostly because the Eden cutscene when you lose all your light has such choppier animation than it used to. The limping animation actually emotionally hurt to look at, but most of the time the crawling just looks silly to me.

Actually, yeah, same! The crawling is decent too, but the limping had a certain finality to it. Like you could tell that your skykid was fading fast.

I knew something bugged me about the crawling! But I couldn’t put my finger on it until you said it. So thanks for helping me figure it out!

veterans: refers to older sky kids who've been playing the game since beta (and older seasons). they generally have 11-12 wedges on their capes

blessings: are the spells you recieve from the spirits you can collect throughout the game. it's random with what you get!

ascended candles: one of the hardest currencies to obtain and can be earned from red shards or eden runs

uber: the leading sky kid on a candle rn, sometimes they can be called a taxi
